Obi-Wan commented “and that black leather was gorgeous but that hair!”

Siri snorted “what about my hair?”

Obi-Wan replied “it was black and gave you a dark appearance.”

Siri said “and washing the dye out of my hair was the first step to go back to being Siri” and she gave a knowing smile to Obi-Wan. “Being here on Corellia helped me to come to terms with some sad memories and I appreciate all your help. And something wondrous happened today when those parents could be reunited with their child.”

Valin said “the green ghost helped. I like him.”

I love Valin's description of Yoda. laugh

Siri has put her past behind her, and she is happy. hugs

Thank you and also thanks for the suggestion of drawing Valin. he is in the next chapter.

AzureAngel2 Little green ghost!

It's the first time Valin has seen Yoda.
Thanks again for your support and here is the next chapter with breakfast and some more.

Chapter 25

Valin Halcyon was the first to be awake the next day. The first rays of the morning sun were peeking into his bedroom and he exited his bed and opened the curtains.

A young bird was flapping his wings and an adult was flying to and fro encouraging it to come along.

He padded towards the fresher and after that to the bedroom of his parents and to the side where his mother was sleeping. A gentle pat on her hand and she opened her sleepy eyes.
“Mom, when does school start? Birds are awake and have lessons.”

Scerra stood up and after opening the curtains she saw the young bird trying to fly and she gave a big smile. “Yes Valin but lessons for birds start very early. We have a few hours left before school starts and you can go back to bed.”

“Can I stay here? Please.”

“Alright, but very silent. Your dad was late yesterday. He had to clean the training facility.”

“Did he have help?”

“Sure.”

“I know. Siri helped. She is nice and Obi-Wan too. He couldn’t help. He is hurt. You helped me when I was hurt. Kaagi is ni .”

Scerra interrupted him and whispered “Valin shh. Come into the bed and shh. Your dad has a lot of work today.”

Valin crawled into the bed and settled between the adults. “Lot of work at school too?”

“Shh, sleep now or you have to go to your own bed.”

Valin quietened down but took a long time to go back to sleep. That resulted in tossing and turning and covers being rearranged until Nejaa was totally uncovered and Valin and Scerra having all the covers.
Getting warm Valin drifted back to sleep eventually.

Nejaa was dreaming of little critters crawling over his exposed skin. Scquish, shhhmp, one of the critters changed into a brown cloth covered little being and he tried to duck when a snowball was thrown by it revealing three fingered hands with sharp claws. ‘Yoda?’ He opened his eyes and discovered the cause of his dream. Except for his pyjama-pants he was totally naked. He saw the large pile of covers. ‘Hmm Scerra always manages to get them all during her sleep.’ He was getting cold and started to tug at one end of the cover. “Hey we have a stowaway in our bed Scerra” and he gave her a soft push.

Scerra startled awake and grinned softly “yes, he saw the birds getting lessons and he was eager to go to school.”

Nejaa whispered “I will make breakfast” and he tiptoed out of the room.

Scerra pretended to be asleep and she smiled when she felt Valin stirring awake when the unmistakable sound of a tray with cups and plates jingling on it was heard on the stairs.

“Yummy breakfast in bed. Mommy that’s nice” Valin said and sat up arranging the pillow behind his back and getting another pillow for his mother.

Nejaa entered and placed the tray with a flourish on the nightstand giving each a cup of tea.

Next came the bowl of porridge for Valin and the boy grinned “yummy Choc-flavour.” It wasn’t every day that he got that treat and started to eat it using the spoon and afterwards cleaning his hands with his tongue.

Nejaa saw this and chuckled “just the way I used to clean my hands when I was as little as master Yoda” and he indicated the height of the Jedimaster. “Ready for the toast?”

Both gave him a smile and Nejaa placed the tray on the covers.

Scerra muttered good natured “and that’s again breadcrumbs in bed and some cleaning” when the first piece of toast was buttered by Valin and given to her.

“Birds eat breadcrumbs. You can toss the crumbs to the birds. Sheet clean again.”

Nejaa was smiling when he heard the reasoning of Valin; always trying to find a solution to a problem. ‘Besides becoming a Jedi he will be a nice addition to CorSec. And after that formal ceremony of yesterday I have still that training-bond to form with him; even stronger than the father-son bond I share already with Valin.’ He waited for Valin to finish his toast and the second cup of tea and said “Valin, your first school-day will also be the first day you are starting your training as a Jedi. For this we have to form a training-bond. Come my son.”

Valin gave a big smile and crawled out of bed carefully avoiding the tray and joined his father by sitting down on the floor.

Nejaa placed his hands on the temples of his son’s head and said “from the beginning of our teachings Corellian Jedi have taken their children as their Padawan learner.”

Valin murmured “from the beginning of our teachings the child has accepted his father or mother as the master”

Nejaa continued “open your mind to me”

Valin said “I do” and he felt the light that was the Force and the living man that was his dad being connected and stretching, encompassing him until he felt the same.

Together the two said “we are beings of light. We are one; we are guided by the Force.”

Valin felt something else and he smiled when he opened his eyes and stood up running towards Scerra. “You are a being of light too mom” and he hugged her.

Nejaa gave the two a knowing smile.

Obi-Wan had wandered after his meditation session to the kitchen and found Hanjo and Maariah making breakfast. He filled two trays with cups and plates and Maariah helped him when she saw who the recipients were to be.

Obi-Wan entered Siri’s room and left as silently as he had come returning to his own breakfast.

Maariah placed the tray on the nightstand next to Kaagi’s bed.

Kaagi sat up and said “hmm nice breakfast in bed. The last time that happened was – and not counting the times that I was in the healers’ ward or some other hospital – in my home. I was nearly 3 years” and a liquid look appeared in his eyes. In a faltering voice he said “it was the day my parents were killed.”

Maariah saw the tears dribbling down his face and sat down and wrapped her arm around his shoulders comforting him.

Obi-Wan came back after finishing his breakfast and saw Maariah and Kaagi sitting on the bed. He had only once seen Kaagi with tears on his face but that was after an injury when he was trying to walk again. Now Kaagi was with all his years looking like a child – the young man he still was – resting his head on the small shoulder of Maariah.
He walked to the fresher and came back with a towel and gave it to Maariah and sat down on his own bed.

Maariah wiped Kaagi’s tears away and like Obi-Wan she just waited.

Kaagi said after taking a few deep breaths “dad had given me and mom breakfast in bed and it smelled the same as this toast. It was the morning that my parents were killed by bandits. The Force warned my dad that those bandits were coming and he was able to get me outside through the open window and told me to hide. I crawled towards the stable and was able to get one husan and grabbed his long manes to mount him. Dad had taught me to ride only a few weeks ago. We jumped clear and a wild ride followed until I could hold on no more when I felt my parents.” He stopped and murmured after some time “they became one with the Force. I was so afraid that those bad men would find me. I just hid under a bush.”

Maariah gave him some tea and after sipping from the cup Kaagi continued “I was found by Master Gli-Ra-Ond and his Padawan Aaqu Maerhin. They took me to the Jeditemple; I had no relatives who could care for me. Ghari Adin is my only living relative and he was too old to raise a little child. He has been a bachelor all of his life.”

His face became dreamy and he pictured his old uncle in his mind. ‘Ghari with his long grey hairs living in that large house on Moniron and practising the healer’s art; yeah I have met him once after my Knighting and he gazed at me with those all knowing eyes. He told me that I would meet him again in the future. Did he see what Obi-Wan saw in his dream?’ He shuddered and waited a long time before he whispered “the Jedi became my family.”

Maariah said “just like they became the family of two years old Hanjo when his parents sent him to the Jeditemple for training.”

Hanjo had entered the room during Kaagi’s story and said “yes and that way I became a healer and not a CorSec officer like my parents. You were with master Maerhin the ones I wanted to follow in my upbringing as a Jedi-healer.”

---

Siri heard the voices in the room next to hers when she opened her eyes. She sniffled and saw toast and tea standing on her nightstand.

“We will be home before lunch. Enjoy your morning.”

“Speaking about home; Anakin will return the day after tomorrow and I want to be there.”

“Sure we can leave this evening.”

“We will get you to the spaceport.”

“With that flight-training Anakin can take you on an exhilarating trip through the bowels of Coruscant.”

“Kaagi!”

“Just teasing. I know you don’t like to fly.”

“Flying is OK but what my Padawan is doing, is reckless, dangerous, making-a-master-looking-green-as-Yoda, flying.”

Siri hopped out of bed and said peeking around the door “he should teach Ferus to fly like that. I love it. And I am going home today too.”

Obi-Wan said “morning Siri. Did we wake you with our noise or was it my breakfast?”

Siri said “both and morning to you all.”

Kaagi said “ah, there she is nurse Siri ready to assist me.”

Obi-Wan muttered “Hanjo can you stay to help Kaagi?”

Maariah smiled and taking Hanjo’s hand she said “come or we will be late” and walked away with Hanjo smiling inwardly and giving an apologetic shrug with his shoulders before he said “sorry Obi-Wan, nurse Siri should be adequate.”

Maariah passed a shelf and picking up some items she returned and deposited them in Siri’s hands whispering “you need those.”

Siri giggled “thanks Maariah” and hiding them behind her back she said “Kaagi see you in a few minutes.”

She returned to her room and eating and drinking she changed into the green robes and cap. After finishing her last cup of tea she donned the gloves and wiggling her fingers she grinned “ready for my patient” and strode into the men’s room.

Thank you, drawing the characters give some feeling to where the story is going. And the breakfast in bed was coming form RL-experiences.

Chapter 26

Hanjo and Maariah drove towards Coronet and after stopping on the parking place near the hospital Maariah said “never knew a breakfast would stir such painful old memories for your friend Kaagi Adin.”

Hanjo said “in all his 97 years at the Jeditemple, this visit to our house is the first time that he is staying with a family. All his other missions he could stay in a hotel or when going back to his home planet with friends. Except for Ghari Adin he has no relatives left alive.”

Maariah said “and from what I have read about Moniron it is a peaceful planet.”

Hanjo said “it is but those ‘bandits’ had wandered by accident into the Moniron star-system and their craft crashed. They could flee the planet and were never found. Master Maerhin has told me the entire story when I asked about Kaagi’s age. I had been following lessons from him and he seemed so young and had all the mischief of a young initiate. Later I learned that Master Fay had been no different when she was that young. She belongs also to the Dunai elder humanoids and left when she was knighted to roam the galaxy while being guided by the Force.”

Maariah remarked “those Dunai elder seem quite at home on Moniron.”

Hanjo said “yes and their descendants the Dunai too. Kaagi has told me all are Force sensitive but not as strong as the ones who are taken to the Jeditemple. Only the art of healing is well developed. They want to live simple lives not bothered by the political bickering that is seen on most planets. Moniron has a democracy and simple rules” and he told her more about that.

Maariah said “nice. Why are there only a few Dunai among the Jedi?”

Hanjo said “Yoda was the first Jedi to discover the planet and visited Moniron twice. First he came home with Master Fay and the second time he brought Aaqu Maerhin to the Jeditemple. And today you heard Kaagi’s story.”

Maariah said “yeah and with the Corellian Jedi it is almost the same. Force sensitive beings raise their children here and only a few are sent to the Jeditemple.”

Hanjo said “and most come back to Corellia after their knighting. I don’t want to spend my entire life on that city-planet and most Corellians agree with me. Come let’s see what today brings.”

Both physicians exited the speeder and when they entered the back entrance Don Geor met them with a big smile on his face.

Don Geor said “good morning Maariah, Hanjo. I have some very good news concerning our patients from the day of the commuter train disaster. All are going to make a full recovery” and he gave them the charts.

Hanjo smiled when he read the names ‘Kaagi had saved that boy. I had helped with that woman.’

Maariah gave him a hug. “Yes Hanjo we all did it.”

Don Geor said “without the Jedi lives would have been lost and other lives becoming more difficult with permanent disabilities. I want to thank you and doctor Adin.”

Hanjo said “Kaagi Adin is leaving today with Obi-Wan Kenobi. We will take them to the spaceport in the evening.”

Don Geor told Hanjo and Maariah some more and Hanjo replied “they will like that. Great idea.”

- - - -

Obi-Wan had taken a shower and was sitting on a chair clad only in his boxers.
He saw Siri and started to smile when he saw her.

Siri smiled back until she got a good look at Kaagi now that she was inside the room. He was sitting in another chair and supporting with one arm on the table his head with his hand and with the other fingering absently a wad of cotton from his medical bag that he had placed on the small table. He looked up with his still slightly liquid eyes and gave her a sad look. She sat down on the third chair and asked “what has happened Kaagi?”

Kaagi pointed at the empty tray on his bed and answered “breakfast in bed and that stirred old memories” and he told Siri what he had told Obi-Wan and Maariah. And he told more about what happened afterwards; his arrival at the Jeditemple, hearing after a few months that the bandits who killed his parents had escaped.

Siri and Obi-Wan just listened. They were there for him supporting him with a soft pat on his hands or simple words of comfort.

Silent moments followed for the three Jedi, each remembering their past, each knowing that it was the Force that had guided them.

Kaagi shuddered a little when he remembered the recent discussions with Obi-Wan after the dreams. ‘Difficult times are coming for all the Jedi. The future is clouded.’

Siri was remembering her time as Zora and the good that had come from it by telling Obi-Wan everything. ‘A girl reunited with her parents and yes Obi-Wan was there for me; a great and caring friend not asking but waiting for me to begin my story. And if and when he needs me, I will be there. But that’s me; I will ask and ask until he talks. I never learned to be that patient like he has become through the teachings of Qui-Gon. Come let’s get this thing going.’ She reached out with her gloved hand to Obi-Wan’s and that got an instant reaction.

“Siri, those gloves are like a slithering crawling snake on my bare arms. Look goosebumps. Where did you get those?”

Siri answered “from Maariah, I am your caring nurse” and she stroked him with her other hand on his bare arm.

Obi-Wan muttered “Kaagi! Can you take over?”

Kaagi smiled when he saw Siri starting to peel away the first small bacta-patch. “Uh I am ready to begin Obi-Wan.”

“Yeah and stop her before I have a full hair-removal.”

Kaagi rummaged in his medical bag and said “nurse will you keep his arm immobile.”

Siri answered “yes doctor Adin” and placed one hand around Obi-Wan’s biceps and the other firmly around the wrist.

Kaagi unpacked a sealed package of equipment and placed a tissue on the table. He removed the bacta-patches as gentle as possible and took the first end of a stitch between his tweezers and cut the thread with a scalpel.

Obi-Wan commented “Kaagi has comfortable gloves and I didn’t feel that.”

“Two”

Siri saw the second stitch being deposited on the tissue followed by the others and was awed when she saw the scars.

Next Kaagi took a swipe and cleaned the scar.

Obi-Wan gazed at it and saw a reddish stripe that would fade with time. A white irregular scar gave testimony to the larger wound that had been there when he had broken his arm.

Kaagi said “you can let go Siri” and he pointed at the brace “will you clean that?”

Siri went to the kitchen and with soap and water she made sure the brace was rinsed thoroughly clean with cold water when she returned.

Kaagi was giving Obi-Wan a gentle exercise for his right arm and the Knight only winced once when the healer touched a tender spot. “That’s enough for this morning.”

Siri showed the brace and with Kaagi nodding his approval she took Obi-Wan’s arm and fastened it around his arm. Only a slight shivering and no comment followed and she smirked “hey! Now I am a nice nurse.”
Siri was still holding his arm and that was the signal for a smiling Obi-Wan to use his other hand to tickle her gently.

“Obi! Kaagi! Where is that sling?”

“He doesn’t need that anymore. But be gentle with him. The arm needs to become stronger with therapy.”

Another tickle followed and Siri managed to pull her hand free and doing so she dropped on Kaagi’s bed where the tray with empty cups and plate went flying to the floor with fruit-peels and an egg shell joining the mess.

“Oops”

“Oh dear.”

Kaagi watched the scene with amusement in his silver grey eyes. Obi-Wan was standing up and gazing at the floor. Siri was on the bed and hollering with laughter and soon the three were all laughing.

Kaagi smiled “someone has to clean this mess” and he went to the kitchen. Grabbing a cloth and a bucket and filling it with water he returned and said “Siri, Obi-Wan, first this breakfast makes me remember a difficult moment in my youth and now seeing this mess I recall vividly what happened in the crèche two weeks after I arrived in the Jeditemple.”

Two voices said at the same time “yes?”

Kaagi grinned “Padawan Aaqu was helping with our breakfast and little Ronjin – always in for a joke – had put one end of the tablecloth between Aaqu’s obi. Asking for more porridge Aaqu wanted to get that and that got the entire cloth with spoons and empty bowls on the floor. Crèche master Majana Walin came with master Yoda and both ordered Ronjin and Aaqu to clean the mess.” He gave the bucket to Obi-Wan and said “Siri you have the right gloves for that job.”

“Uh?”

“They’re kitchen gloves Siri.”

“Ah that explains it.”

“What?”

“The difference between yours and Siri’s.”

“Get cleaning and join me in the garden. It is a beautiful day for enjoying the surroundings until we have to leave” Kaagi said.

Obi-Wan and Siri cleaned the room thoroughly and Kaagi packed his gear and the bags.
After the cleaning operation Obi-Wan dressed in his Jediclothes and was glad that the sling was gone.
Siri came back after putting the bucket back in the kitchen and changing her dress as well.

Kaagi walked to the garden and Obi-Wan wanted to follow.

Siri stopped him and said “we have someone to visit. Come Obi-Wan.”

Kaagi looked back with a questioning look on his face.

Obi-Wan grinned “nurse Siri has another treatment planned” and he followed Siri to the main exit.

- - - -

Scerra smiled when she walked with Nejaa and Valin towards the school. After that breakfast Valin was eager to go and when the time arrived he had donned his jacket and urged her to come. Scerra had given him a small bag to carry with his lunchbox. A short walk took them to the school and Valin was tugging his mother along.

Nejaa followed and for him it was the first time he would see the school and he remembered the visit of Jenna Forhoo a few weeks ago.

Other children with their parents were also arriving and teachers – among them Jenna Forhoo – were waiting for them at the entrance to the school.

Valin was almost running when he spotted Jenna.

Jenna said “welcome Valin” and she introduced him to the other children.

Valin smiled when he saw John, one of his friends from the hill district.

Jenna said “come children, school is starting and I will begin with a story.”

The teachers started to guide the children inside.
Parents were saying goodbye and were promising their children to be there after school-time to take them home. Hugs and kisses followed.
A little girl started to whimper when her mother kissed her and guided her inside.

Valin was the only child left at the entrance. He saw this and he realised that he was for the first time without his parents, going into a building he had seen only once before. For a little four year old boy that was adventurous but also a bit scaring and when he hugged Scerra he asked “will you be here soon mommy?”

Scerra answered “a few hours Valin and we will guide you home.”

- -

Jenna didn’t see Valin when she entered her classroom and asked one of the other teachers to take over for a moment. She had seen the formal dress of Nejaa and his lightsaber hanging from his belt. She knew from her earlier visit to the house of the parents that the Jedi Knight wanted to train his son in the ways of the Jedi.

Jenna came back to the entrance and saw the three still standing there. She said “Valin it is your first day at school and your parents can come inside to see more of the school.”

Valin ran inside and Jenna, Scerra and Nejaa followed.
Jenna guided them first to the gymnastics room.

Nejaa Halcyon entered that with an approving smile on his face and seeing the faces of his son and Jenna he unclipped his lightsaber from his belt and demonstrated a lightsaber kata.
After finishing it he bowed and said “Valin after school time I will come back and we will begin your first training.”

Jenna said “come Valin, the other children are waiting” and she took him by his hand and both entered the classroom where the other teacher was just finishing a story.

Valin saw his parents walking to the exit. “Mommy, daddy” he began but stopped when he felt the gentle nudge from his father in his mind ‘I am here Valin, we are bonded through the Force.’
Smiling he sat down on a bench at one of the tables.

Was the move a success?

Again all thanks for reading and I had to write and edit some fun in next chapter after a weekend and monday full of sad things.

Chapter 27

A smile appeared on Obi-Wan’s face when he saw which road Siri was taking when they exited the garden. “Keara?”

“Yes Obi-Wan, she has something for you.”

“What?”

“Wait and you will see. You have to be patient for a few moments more” Siri said and walked with a brisk pace towards the shop.

Obi-Wan jogged along and said “patient, look who’s not; eager to get there as soon as possible.”

Siri gave him a playful push “imp” and started to run.

Obi-Wan followed as fast as he could with his brown cloak flapping around him and in a very short time the shop became visible.

Keara welcomed them with a big smile “good to see you again Siri, Obi-Wan. I have something for you Obi-Wan” and she walked to a shelf and came back with a box.

Obi-Wan opened the box and when he saw what was inside he gave her a big smile. He took one out and admired the craftsmanship. “They are as good as new, buckles and new soles. Thanks Keara.”

Keara said “Nejaa Halcyon found the sandals when he was preparing the facility for his son’s birthday and he brought them here. A pair of new buckles and some stitching was all they needed.”

Obi-Wan said “and now I have a nice gift for Anakin.”

Siri grinned “those things?”

“Yes, those things. He loves everything flashy coloured.” Obi-Wan walked to the shelves where the sports-gear was stored and came back with a box with a pair of sandals. “Yours were lost too and here are new ones”

Siri took the offered sandals and said “my size and a nice colour” when she saw the light-tan leather and putting them down on the counter she gave him a hug whispering in his ear “thank you for being with me.” And looking up she gave Keara a wink with her eye.

Keara replied with a smile on her face.

Obi-Wan said “this evening we are going back but I will be back when Anakin has his training here.”

Siri added “and when Ferus has his, I will come too.”

Keara began to pack the sandals and saw the two Jedi walk to another shelf. They came back with other items and those were put in brown paper with Keara telling more about the origins.

Siri said “now we are ready to go home” and she took one of the large bags. “Thanks Keara for being here and see you.”

Obi-Wan took the brown packages and put them in the inside pockets of his cloak. He picked the bag with his sandals and said “Keara thanks for your great care and greetings to Kevin.”

More pleasantries were exchanged and Keara told them that they should enjoy a free morning and afternoon until their trip back. The two would do just that and for their third companion – Kaagi – they knew he sure was planning something funny.

---

The two Jedi wandered back in a far more sedate pace and were taking the route to the training facility. Seeing the Micco-rodents eating from the Mujaa-fruits brought a big smile on both faces. The small path to the lake was their return route and they enjoyed the surroundings pointing at a bird or a flower and remembering what Keara had told them about the beauties of Corellia’s nature and the artist that had made such beautiful pieces of art inspired by them. Two pieces were resting in Obi-Wan’s cloak, presents for his friends.

Siri was the first to hear a splashing sound and she grinned and whispered “told you Kenobi! it’s Kaagi, come let’s join him.”

“Great idea, a surprise for our healer” Obi-Wan replied and continued towards the house with Siri.

---

Kaagi was enjoying his swim, drifting lazily on the smooth water. Birds were singing and the fragrant smell of flowers drifted up his nose. An agitated cry from a waterfowl alerted him and he grinned when he saw the cause of it.

Siri, clad in her red bikini and Obi-Wan in his plain beige swimming trunks were entering the water. The two started to swim towards him and Kaagi remained very silent bobbing on the water. He felt the replacement of the liquid and gave a cry “hey big fish, help me.”

Siri had gotten hold of one arm and said with glee apparent in her voice “big fish will devour you, grind you to little pieces and”

“And what?”

“Siri, he is my therapist.”

“I know and like all men he doesn’t like this” and she began to Force tickle them both.

Obi-Wan was able to ignore the tickling sensation after some time and dove under only to emerge a short time later behind Siri. He grabbed her and lifted her half out of the water and that was the signal to Kaagi to dunk both of them with a Force assisted water-wave.

A full water-fight ensued until Obi-Wan signalled as the first that it was enough.

Three dripping Jedi donned old, repaired and new sandals and walked back to the house where they saw the speeder of the Tavar’s parked near the front entrance.

Kaagi remarked “never knew that it was noon already.”

Siri said “time flies when you are having fun” and she was the first to enter the house where Maariah and Hanjo were busy with the preparations for lunch.

Maariah’s face lighted up with laughter when she saw Kaagi and the latter asked “what’s wrong?”

Hanjo hick-upped “your hair! Hooligan Kaagi again, there are water reeds in your hair. And Siri you have a little collection of those too.”

Obi-Wan was grinning when he saw the decorations in the long hair of his companions until Siri gave him a short ruffle through his short hair and touched the bald spot. With a soft voice he said “mine will grow to catch reeds too.”

Siri whispered “yes and I like that and even if it goes with a prickly beard and moustache” and she walked to her room, hearing the men’s comment “water-nymph.”

Kaagi and Obi-Wan followed to theirs.

---

Three impeccably dressed Jedi joined Hanjo and Maariah at the table for lunch.
Obi-Wan had donned his cloak again and in the inside pockets he felt the two packages.
After the lunch the physicians told them of their morning of work with Kaagi asking about the patients from the commuter train and traffic jam disasters.

Kaagi said “all are recovering. That’s fantastic to hear.”

Maariah said “and Nynah has started therapy with Vinny the first of your patients. He was awake and lucid this morning.”

Kaagi said when Obi-Wan and Siri had questioning gazes on their faces “Vinny was my first patient and Hanjo could treat his headtrauma and after that I treated his leg.”

Obi-Wan’s face became soft when he heard the word headtrauma and he wrapped the cloak tightly around him.

Siri saw this and whispered in his ear “you recovered Obi-Wan and you helped me recover from my experience.”

Obi-Wan mumbled “yes Siri, we both were healed here in the beautiful surroundings and by the care of all our friends” and the two sat in silence remembering the past days, months and years.

Hanjo signalled to Kaagi ‘come let’s do the dishes’ using the unspoken language of the surgeons.

Maariah followed them and the three started to do the dishes.

Kaagi grinned “oops” when the suds-bottle disappeared in the water.

Maariah smiled “men!”

Hanjo fished it out of the sink.

“Look what we have got” Maariah continued.

“A suds disaster” Hanjo muttered and gave Kaagi a little push with his suds-covered hands.

Obi-Wan was rolling with laughter “and I thought that was something only Anakin could do.”

Siri smirked “uh I remember a certain Padawan doing the same.”

“Initiate, Siri I was an initiate and I helped Master Rian. And what did little Siri do?”

“Uh, let the men do the work.”

From the kitchen Kaagi smiled “women” and using the Force he formed a soap-bubble that floated towards Siri.

Siri strode towards the kitchen trying to push it back but it disintegrated on impact. She made a second bubble and that floated towards Obi-Wan who ducked. Another had Kaagi as its target but that was diverted to Obi-Wan as well. This one collided with his cloak creating a pearly shimmering patch on the brown material.

Obi-Wan - not wanting to join the soap-bubble-Force-fight between the two - stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
“Hanjo, Maariah for all the help you have given us I want to thank you.”
Rummaging in the cloak he took out two packages. “This is for you Maariah and this is for you Hanjo.”

Maariah opened the plain brown paper and a beautifully crafted figurine representing a flying bird became visible. It was made from white crystal and when the rays of the sun shining into the room caught it a pure radiance shone from it as if the bird could fly away.
Maariah was speechless for a moment and said after some time “this is beautiful. Thank you Obi-Wan, Siri” and she hugged both Jedi.

Hanjo unwrapped the second package and a second bird became visible. It too shone with the same radiance and it was sitting on a nest. He said “thanks for this nice present” and he walked to his bookcase and placed it before the book he had gotten from Shh-kir so many years ago.

Maariah placed her present next to it.

Hanjo whispered “they are guarding our future” and Maariah gave him a knowing smile. On the day of his return from Coruscant he had told her about his talks with Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan gave them a nod and wandered in the garden following the call of a singing bird.

Siri followed him and she smiled when she saw the white bird before he did. “Nice and now I know why that artist chose that bird.”

Obi-Wan saw it too and he said “so pure, so innocent, birds of peace, like a manifestation of the living Force” and he pointed towards the second bird sitting in a nest.

The bird flew towards its mate and started to groom the feathers.

Siri smiled “hey cleaning” and she wiped the soap-stain away from Obi-Wan’s cloak.

Obi-Wan took her in his arms and the two just watched the birds and enjoyed each others company. Both were ready to return to the Jeditemple, both had released their past experiences in the Force and both knew that the other would be there when the one needed help.

---

The great hall of the Rainbow elementary and high school was filled with children and teenagers, all having lunch.
In a corner reserved for the little children was Valin Halcyon absently picking at his bread and not really eating it. He missed his mother and although the morning had been exiting with a story, a lesson in drawing and gymnastics he was now a bit lonely.

Nyche Kaloar was late because she had finished her homework for her grammar lessons before going to eat something. She wandered into the hall and recognised the little boy she had met yesterday immediately. Seeing the young boy’s sad looks she strode towards his table and sat down on a vacant chair.

Valin’s hazel eyes lighted up when he saw her and he said “not lonely anymore. Will you stay here?”

Nyche answered “until the next lessons start but I can see you during every break. And when you need help you know it.”

Valin concluded “I come to you” and he whispered in his mind ‘thanks dad for inviting her yesterday.’ He felt Nejaa’s reply ‘I know. Get eating son and you know I will be there for your training.’

---

Nejaa was discussing yet another case with his partner in crime-fighting Rostek Horn.

Rostek heard it first and said “time for a break”

Nejaa gave him a questioning gaze “yes?”

Rostek said with his booming laughter “your stomach dictates that.”

Nejaa said “yep and I can’t let that one waiting” and accessing the Force he sent his silent support to his son.

Rostek – as Force blind as a cave-mole – gazed at him and asked “Valin at school and eating no doubt.”

Nejaa replied “yep and he is with his new friend Nyche Kaloar. They met yesterday at the party. She is the granddaughter of Hanjo and Maariah Tavar.”

Rostek said “yeah and the daughter of my dentist. Nice to remind me Nejaa, I have to visit him tomorrow for a small procedure. But he is a great guy and he shares my love for plants and he visits me often in my greenhouse. He helped me develop new hybrids and Nyche accompanies him often to see our work on the plants. She likes flowers and can make nice pictures by drawing them. She will be a great friend for your son.”

Nejaa said “I am sure she will.”

I just love how you write those two together. So playful, even affectionate - just a lovely relationship.
