Lovely artwork applause

Obi-Wan said “and now I have a nice gift for Anakin.”

Siri grinned “those things?”

“Yes, those things. He loves everything flashy coloured.” Obi-Wan walked to the shelves where the sports-gear was stored and came back with a box with a pair of sandals. “Yours were lost too and here are new ones”

Siri took the offered sandals and said “my size and a nice colour” when she saw the light-tan leather and putting them down on the counter she gave him a hug whispering in his ear “thank you for being with me.” And looking up she gave Keara a wink with her eye.

Keara replied with a smile on her face.

Obi-Wan is always thinking of others and I like it that he and Siri enjoyed them selves.

Thanks again and that's Obi-Wan all his life thinking about others. Some funny moments follow in the next chapter and they are planning something for their return.

Chapter 28

Obi-Wan and Siri were sitting in the beautiful garden.
Soft splashing sounds of a fountain were heard and Siri was enjoying this immensely. She remembered a song from her youth and started to hum softly without words.

Obi-Wan smiled because he recognised the beginning and started to sing in his slightly off key but beautiful voice

“Purple rain purple rain
purple rain purple rain
purple socks purple socks
All they see are purple socks”

A playful push by Siri and he stopped.

Siri asked “what’s that Kenobi? Don’t you remember the words?”
“Oh yes but Anakin was singing this when he was packing for that training trip. Must have been that tale I told him about Mace Windu’s socks.”

Siri grinned “I have heard that tale. Come it’s getting late and I want to be home in the morning.”

And Obi-Wan thought ‘no need to tell her that Kaagi will give me one more therapy session before we leave and that he wants to rebandage my feet with new waterproof bandages. She will get ideas being my nurse again.’

But Siri saw his thoughtful gaze towards his feet and said “Obi-Wan after that swim I saw one bandage becoming untied.”

Obi-Wan said rather hastily “Kaagi took care of that after I showered.”

Siri asked “no ripped stitches?”

Obi-Wan took Siri by her arm and muttering “look what that is getting me, Siri living for a few days in the presence of three healers and she thinks she is a nurse” he led her to the house and towards her room.

---

Maariah saw the two and said “Hanjo I think Siri is leaving.”

Hanjo said “yes and Kaagi is also packing the last things in his bags. I saw only his massage-oil and a sealed package on the table.”

Maariah remarked “I put that there for Obi-Wan. Kaagi asked me this morning after that swim if I had some new waterproof bandages. Obi-Wan’s feet need care and before they leave Kaagi will give him therapy for his arm.”

Siri heard that when she came with her bag into the living room and said “nurse Siri is back.”

Obi-Wan muttered with a big smile on his face “you are leaving. Doctors enough in this house.”

Siri asked “really?” And when she felt a slight Force tickle nudging her in the direction of the door “I guess I am. Thanks Hanjo and Maariah for your great care and hospitality.”

Hanjo said “you know you can always come back. Kaagi told me you’re a great nurse” and he barked with laughter when he saw Obi-Wan mouthing silently ‘you too?’

Maariah added “we can use nice nurses and Corellia is just beautiful for a ride in the country.”

Siri said “when I return I want to ride that speederbike.”

Maariah said “you can try her” and gave her a hand.

Hanjo said “take care Siri”

Siri walked to the garden and waved goodbye.

Obi-Wan said “I have to help her with the archive-material from Nejaa. Tell Kaagi I will be back soon” and he followed Siri.

---

Siri and Obi-Wan walked towards the training facility and the first stop was in the main building where Siri got the controls to her transport back.
The second stop was her cabin and Obi-Wan smiled when he saw the archive crate standing on a four-wheeled cart with a tow-bar. A note was attached to it ‘Free to use as long as you like, Nejaa Halcyon.’

“Will you get a gonk to transport that to Jocasta Nu?”

“Sure and I am planning to get the most annoying one. Nejaa has left some very interesting things in that crate.”

“Will you wait until we are back?”

“Yes. I will ask Ferus to guide the gonk towards the archives. He had his run in with Nu recently and will love that when I tell him what we are planning and we can have some old-ductcrawling-and-getting-to-the-archives fun.”

“Yeah until a certain green master discovers us. You know what happened years ago.”

“Duct-cleaning with you carrying the bucket and those spiders and their icky webs.”

“And Master Yoda taking the short cut to his apartment. He is small enough to walk upright in the ducts and that way he doesn’t have to use his hoverpad.”

Siri grinned “Master Yoda and his hoverpad, I have seen him after I returned from Nar Shadda with you. He was funny having a competition with that other Jedi Knight.”

“Yes, one of Qui-Gon’s great friends. He can be annoying but I like him and he has become my friend too.”

The two towed the cart towards the transport and Obi-Wan was laughing when he heard the screeching sound of the wheels on the concrete, the grass and the dirt and he imagined what sound it would make when being towed on the polished floors of the corridors leading to the archives.

Siri voiced it “no need for a gonk. We use this thing. I will tell Tomy Itsi that I need the transport for a while.”

“We will be arriving shortly after you Siri. I am sure when I return Kaagi will have our bags packed and in the speeder. And we have one of those fast medical transports and Kaagi is piloting.”

“And I thought you didn’t like flying!”

Obi-Wan grinned “only with Anakin. What he does is ridiculous, frivolous, annoying other beings with whipping past with only a centimetre between flying.”

Siri said “and how many more colourful ways do you have to describe your Padawan’s flying?”

Obi-Wan answered “a lot, each time he finds a different way to scare me and that has me muttering about his flying. But – and I have to admit that – he is an expert and I am glad he could take that advanced lesson from Master Firesta.”

Coming to a stop near the back of the transport Siri used her controls to lower the ramp.
The large crate was put in the hold and Obi-Wan left the transport saying “see you soon Siri and a safe flight home.”

---

Obi-Wan saw Siri take off and returned to the house.
Kaagi was waiting for him in their room. He gave a short therapy for the arm and replaced the brace.
Obi-Wan removed his boots.

Kaagi said when he was removing the bandages “tsk, tsk Obi-Wan, good that I have used waterproof bandages.”

Giving him a sheepish grin Obi-Wan said “uh they are standard Jedi-issue. All those field kits have them.”

Kaagi replied “yes but they didn’t design them to be waterfight-proof and who did start that fight, interrupting my lazy-swimming-doing-nothing-morning?”

“Uh Siri, she saw you first in the swimming lake.”

“And you replied with ‘great idea, a surprise for our healer.’ I heard that Obi-Wan.”

Obi-Wan gave Kaagi a playful pat on his ear grinning “should have known; Dunai elder and their superior hearing ability.”

Kaagi inspected the little cuts and said “a few days and I will remove those stitches” and he bandaged the feet. “Our bags are already in Hanjo’s speeder. Ready to go?”

“Yes” Obi-Wan said when he donned his last boot.

The two Jedi walked to the speeder where Hanjo and Maariah were waiting for them.

---

When the speeder pulled into the parking slot available at the spaceport for doctors Kaagi was the first to notice the familiar man and women waiting for them.

“Dian, Lida, Don” Kaagi said with a big smile on his face.

Dian said “leaving I see.”

Obi-Wan said “yes, my Padawan is returning from a training trip and I am eager to go home.”

Lida asked “and your friend Siri?”

“Siri has left two hours ago with her transport.”

Dian said “before you head to your transport I want to thank you Kaagi for all what you have done” and she gave him a large clearplast sealed package.

Kaagi said “nice, I love this. Corellian corn cakes”

Don Geor said “and this is from the entire staff of the E.R. room” and he presented a certificate with all the signatures of them to the baffled Jedihealer.

Lida gave him another certificate with a funny drawing of recovering patients chasing a doctor and a holorecording. She said “all patients, doctors and nurses wanted to thank you personally and they made this recording.”

Kaagi was moved when he heard all the kind words; patients, parents, children, nurses all had taken time to reply. He whispered “thanks and without your help I wouldn’t have been successful. We were a great team that day.”

Don, Lida and Dian said goodbye and left.
Don Geor mused when he boarded the speeder which took them back to the hospital ‘great healers, both of them. I have seen Kaagi Adin at work but seeing Knight Kenobi and his gentle hands and manners, he could have become a natural healer too; a healer of mind and body.’

---

Hanjo and Maariah followed the two Jedi to their transport and even the Customs officer waved them goodbye without bothering to check their bags.

Obi-Wan whispered only for Kaagi to hear “we could have smuggled an entire cache of Corellian whiskey in our bags for Mace Windu and Jika Bale.”

Kaagi whispered back “they have their own suppliers. And you know what I think about that stuff. And you!”

Obi-Wan replied a bit more loudly “yes, yucky stuff after my accident. Come let’s go home.”

Hanjo said “see you Obi-Wan and maybe your full taste and smell will return.”

Maariah said “and bring your Padawan next time.”

“I will.”

Obi-Wan and Kaagi boarded their transport and the last thing they saw before taking off was Hanjo and Maariah waving them goodbye.

Valin Halcyon was walking to the exit of his school when he sensed his father standing in the crowd of parents all taking their children home.
Through his bond he said ‘daddy.’

Nejaa replied ‘yes Valin, I have brought your training saber and we will practise in the gymnastics room.’

Valin went to the room and Nejaa halted a moment when Jenna said “he is a sweet kid and had a great first day especially after the lunch where he met Nyche Kaloar. He was a bit lonely until he met her. Most kids who have their first day at school need a lot of hugging and comfort.”

Nejaa said “he is a Jedi and we have a special bond. He is never alone.”

Jenna said “go to your son Mr. Halcyon, he is waiting for you.”

Nejaa said “yes” and he joined his son.

That afternoon-training became the first of many to come in the following years and father and son went home talking about school and training and they were still doing that when they entered their home.

Valin saw his mother and ran towards her and Scerra was the next to hear about the first day at school.

The boy was still talking when diner was served and Scerra said “little Jedi need food and sleep.”

Valin nodded and was able to finish his dessert without wiping his sleepy eyes but as soon as he put the spoon on the table his chin dropped on his chest.

Nejaa took him in his arms and carried him upstairs with Scerra following them.
It came as no surprise for both parents when Valin fell asleep soon after visiting the fresher.

Scerra said “tomorrow he will be awake early again eager to go to school.”

Nejaa said “a few of those Valin-up-with-the-birds-and-getting-in-our-bed-mornings more and soon school will be a normal part in his life.”

So Obi-Wan is the only one who's not fond of "nurse" Siri? This was a nice chapter.

He is but he likes to banter and you will see more of that in the following chapters.

KaraJadeKim Great chaptaer love that about anakinas fliying and Valin enjoying school so sweet.

AzureAngel2 Yah, the very up-date I waited for! Thanks, bird!

Thank you all and next chapter was inspired a long time ago by some of my colleagues dropping their archive-material on my desk. And one of them managed to misplace entire reports. And ending in a little cliffie wink

Chapter 29

Tomy Itsi saw a transport landing in the great hangar of the Jeditemple and he smiled when he saw who exited it.
“Home again Knight Tachi.”

“Yes and can I retain this transport for a few hours more. There’s stuff from Corellia to unload and I need my Padawan to help me.”

Tomy said “of course, she is yours and you or your Padawan can enter it anytime. I will tell the other technicians. There are enough other transports” and he grinned when he saw her leave the hangar with a springy step and swaying with her bag and a mischievous smile on her face. ‘She is the old Siri and she is planning something.’

And it came as no surprise to him when the next transport – a medical one – landed only one hour later. ‘Kaagi Adin and Obi-Wan Kenobi and we will see some fun in the Jeditemple again. Stuff from Corellia means usually archive-material from the Corellian Jedi. Yeah I will plan a visit to the archives. Love to see grumpy Nu.’
And for the next hour Tomy Itsi was cleaning his desk and putting material in a box marked archives.

--

With twinkling blue eyes and his red hair in an unruly mop Master Aiden O-Lenge or ‘Spanners’ as he was generally known wandered in the office of Tomy and smiled “desk cleaning Tomy? Never seen you that busy with those datapads and papers.”

“Nah, but now I am after I saw Knights Tachi, Kenobi and Adin returning from their missions to Corellia. Those Jedi are planning something. Knight Tachi has some archive-material to deliver and I am sure that will annoy Nu to the extreme.”

“And yours not?” Spanners asked fishing a grease-stained report out of the box with his equally greasy hands.

“Oh yes, she will lecture me about stains destroying archive-material and I will tell her that I can’t help it. Workplaces are always dirty.”

Spanners gave a playful pat on Tomy’s shoulder and left with “will get my stuff too.”

And Spanners was cleaning his desk and shelves; papers bound together with sticky rubber bands that had been there too many years laying in the hot, humid work-place, papers stapled with rust stains.
Grease stained papers used as blotting paper after one of his famous BBQ’s.
Dog-eared reports with small bubbles indicating hidden pins, screws and whatever material a technician used to mark interesting passages.
Maps filled with plast pouches each containing a paper.

The heap of archive-material was impressive and Spanners cleaned an equipment cart from its tools and put the material in the free spaces not bothering at all if more grease, rust or dirt from his tools came on it. After dressing himself in a clean robe and tying his long red hair at the nape of his neck with a leather thong he took the tow-handle and guided it towards Tomy’s office.

Tomy was putting the last caf-stained report in his box when he saw Spanners.

“Whew, dressed for the archives, quite the gentleman Master O-Lenge”

“Yeah, have to impress her or I cannot walk into the archives at all and that leaves you all the fun Tomy.”

“My robe is relatively clean. She won’t notice that tiny smudge.”

“And now we wait” Spanners said as he guided the cart inside.

Tomy placed his box atop of the material from Spanners.

---

A little green master on his hoverpad almost bumped into a Jedi Knight sitting in his hoverchair when he sensed what was transpiring in one of the apartments and he redirected his hoverpad towards the residential wing.

There he waited just around the corner until he saw the door to the Tachi-Olin apartment opening and a smiling Ferus exiting it with “see you master.”

Said master followed soon and Yoda followed her hiding his presence in the Force.
‘Hmm Kenobi-Skywalker apartment; young one up to mischief hmm?’

A grinning Obi-Wan appeared and giving Siri a mischievous wink with his left eye, he directed her to the nearest grid covering the ducts.

“It’s stuck!”

“Can we go to another?”

“Not enough time. Ferus is fast.”

“Push the bolt this way, gentle pressure and see. It just needs the caring hands of a ma .”

“Kenobi!”

“After you Tachi”

Yoda waited for them to disappear in the duct and opened it – silently – making sure it didn’t alert the two crawlers ahead of him and entered the duct.
A hoverpad was the silent witness to this.

---

Tomy gave a signal to Spanners when he saw Ferus entering the transport parked at the other side of the large hangar and appear shortly after that with a four-wheeled cart loaded with boxes. “Come let’s head to the archives”
In the crawl-ducts three Jedi were nearing their destination.

Madame Master Jocasta Nu was reading an ancient book about holocrons. It was still morning and she had directed her helpers to sort the incoming mail, make copies for all Masters and scan the originals. Sometimes a Jedi asked for the original report and Jocasta disliked that intensely. Reports had a tendency to get stained, mistreated or disappear entirely. She wanted the archives tidy and complete.

A strange sound alerted her and she looked up with a slight annoyance showing on her face. The history of the holocron was exiting and now someone needed her.
She scowled when she saw who were making that noise. ‘Tomy Itsi and Aiden O-Lenge, a technician and a Master and almost as bad as Kenobi and Jinn in their treatment of archive-material and what are they bringing? Old reports.’

“Morrningg Master Nu” Spanners said in a jovial way and made an elegant bow with his nerftail whipping around and catching the rays of light filtering into the office.

“Twas a beautiful morning and I saw the dust on my desk and the papers and my first thought was; let’s get this to the archives” Tomy added.

Jocasta muttered “why is it parked on that contraption. Your reports are always greasy and putting them there adds more dirt to them.”

Tomy said “this is mine” and he put his little box on her desk almost atop of the old book.

Jocasta was able to snatch that away in time giving him a look that – had she been a Sith – could have burned him. Now she saw the reports of master O-Lenge and she fished the first one out of the equipment-cart. In doing that some nuts and bolts followed with tiny sounds landing on the floor and her desk.
“What’s this Master O-Lenge?”

“Uh I had to mark the interesting parts.”

“Yes and with what? Pins, staples, rubber-bands all an abomination to paper and destroying this original report. Don’t you remember your lessons as an initiate?”

“Yes, but you know during my work speed is sometimes essential and I just use the available material.”

The box of Tomy got her attention when she saw a greasy report smelling of that and something more. Leafing through the report she pried some stuck pages apart and saw a stain. “And these Caf-covered pages?”

“Parked my mug on them when a Jedi needed a transport.”

“Parked his mug on it. What am I going to do? You are an arch ”

Screech beeep, screeech bweeep.

Jocasta abruptly stopped and put her hands to her ears.

Screech beeep, screeech bweeep.

“Good morning Master Madame Jocasta Nu” Ferus said and bowed slightly. “Here is the archive-material from Nejaa Halcyon that my master brought home. She asked me to deliver it to the archives as soon as possible.”

“Thanks Padawan Olin but will you please remove that ‘thing’ as soon as possible from the archives.”

Ferus said “will do” and he deposited his box on the desk, crowding it even more and left.
But just around the corner he waited for things to come.

Jocasta picked the first report from Nejaa’s box and said – showing it to the two technicians – with a snug look on her face “this is how you treat archive-material.”

Spanners nudged Tomy when he saw something else and Tomy was the first to bark with laughter “archive-material. Look at that; he has been to Treasure Ship Row.”

Jocasta put the report down and snatched the offending material out of the box colouring visibly when she started to leaf through the magazines.

Spanners whispered with a big smile on his face “don’t read that Nu.”

Tomy replied “she does. I would have liked to see Knight Halcyon’s face when he put those magazines inside.”

Spanners said “and those CorSec officers.”

Jocasta huffed “I will report this to the ” and she looked up to see a grate coming down.
“Aaach.”

Yes with her being the master of the archives and wanting no comments that's easy.

Thanks all for reading and in the next chapter you will see who makes a grand entrance.

Chapter 30

Meanwhile in the ducts two Jedi had come to one of the grates overlooking the archives-room and more precisely Jocasta Nu’s place.

“Shh Siri, there’s a spider on your tunics”

“One tiny spider?”

"Yes and some webs.”

“You are covered with those too. And dust Kenobi. Look who’s there”

“Yes, Tomy and Spanners. Who gave them this idea?”

“Our return?”

“Possibly. Hey big spiders or an escaped rockhound.”

“Spider I am not”

“Master Yoda?”

“Fun you have, fun I will have” and he passed the two smiling Jedi to the other grate.

Obi-Wan whispered “more dust and webs. Even that small and he attracts them.”

Yoda turned and said “duct-cleaning two of you should do.”

Creak, crreeecsk.

Yoda positioned himself on the creaking grate just above Jocasta’s desk and looked down not minding at all the noise the grate was giving.
“Tsk, tsk, CorSec naughty officers they are” and he shifted some more to get a good look.

CRRREErreeecsk
The grate made one more creaking noise and dislodged from the rusty hinges and started to fall down.

Yoda managed to get his two three fingered hands grabbing the edges of the grate and using the Force he sailed just over Jocasta Nu’s hairbun touching one of the decorations in it. With a satisfied smile he landed and the grate made a screeching noise.

Spanners and Tomy were hollering with laughter when they saw Master Yoda surfing down with the grate.

“Aach that noise, look what you have done Master Yoda.”

“Safe landing I did. Hurt nobody coming down.”

“You did master Yoda. My pride, my hair and look what’s on my desk” Jocasta huffed with a voice full of authority and pointed at some little rusty particles.

“More on your desk I see. Colourful magazines. Tsk tsk Master Nu” and he righted himself and hopped on the desk. “For ladies they are not. Men ashamed they should be.”

---

No one heard the two Jedi up in the duct and looking through the second grate.

“Look Obi, Yoda is giving Master Nu a lesson.”

“Yes, and Spanners and Tomy. He can stare anyone down.”

“Easy with him sitting on that desk.”

“Shh Siri. Look he is looking up.”

“Yeah, come let’s leave before he asks us to come down too or our grate comes crashing.”

“Yep with you as the blonde surfer and I trying to save your b .”

“Imp, get moving. With that arm you’re not the saving type Kenobi.”

“Oh Force, I have to meet Kaagi for my therapy in one hour.”

Both Jedi crawled back through the ducts with more speed and haste and meeting more spiders, webs and dust the exit garnered some attention from two passing senior Padawans on their way to their lessons.

The Padawans just giggled and Obi-Wan and Siri heard one of them whispering “even Masters do it.”

“Yeah I have seen Master Yoda taking shortcuts too” the other Padawan replied before turning around a corner.

“You are dirty Kenobi.”

“Says icky Tachi.”

“Clean up before your visit to Kaagi.”

“He doesn’t mind and I am late” Obi-Wan grumbled and headed towards the nearest lift.

Siri disappeared in her apartment and being quite dirty she headed directly to the fresher and forgot to close the outer door entirely.

---

“Tsk, tsk, you are dirty Obi-Wan. Ductcrawling?”

“Yes and it was fun. Master Yoda followed us to the archives and his grate broke. You should have seen him surfing down” Obi-Wan replied and told the entire story.

Kaagi was doubled over with laughter. “Nu colouring red and Yoda missing that nest. Next time you are planning something like this, please inform me.”

Obi-Wan grinned “will do”

“And now that dirt. Get out of those clothes and take a shower. Take that cubicle.”

Obi-Wan went into the changing cubicle putting his clothes on the shelf high up on the wall and took a shower. Dressed in his boxers and socks and with a towel around his shoulders he came back to the treatment room. He didn’t look up.

Kaagi grumbled “even spider-webs on your brace. Crawly things” and he removed the brace.
A vigorous massage followed and Kaagi was pleased when he finished it.

“Do I need that?”

“Yes, a few more days” Kaagi answered and re-applied the cleaned brace. “See you tomorrow for that stitch removal.”

Obi-Wan started to walk towards the changing cubicle but Kaagi stopped him and said “your clothes are in the laundry chute.”

“Laundry chute?”

“Yep, that shelf where you put your clothes was a weight operated drop to the laundry room. I use that cubicle after surgery to drop my healer’s robes.”

“And how am I supposed to return to my apartment?”

“Wearing this” Kaagi answered and he gave him a drawstring pants, a t-shirt and a pair of soft boots. “Your clothes will be clean and the droids will return them to your room.”

Obi-Wan took the clothes and went into the cubicle, only once looking up and grinning ‘Kaagi and his tricks, but I have to admit, they work and my clothes will be clean.’

Dressed in the comfortable clothes Obi-Wan said goodbye to Kaagi and returned to his apartment smiling when he saw the delivery-droid from laundry coming around the corner.
To no one in particular he said “that’s fast” and he grabbed his cleaned clothes and boots.

“What’s fast?” a well known voice reached his ears.

“Laundry delivery Siri. Even Kaagi said that my clothes were too dirty to put back on” and he turned his head to see her peeking around the doorpost. “Tomorrow I have to see him for those stitches and if you like you can come along. I want to show you something in a garden near the healers’ ward” and entered his apartment closing the door with a Force push.

He was a bit tired from the flight home, the time-difference between Corellia and Coruscant, the return to his apartment followed only five minutes later by a visit from Siri asking him to come along for their duct-crawling-to-the-archives-adventure and the return and visit to Kaagi for his therapy.
Putting his clothes on the appropriate racks he went into the main living room and after making a pot of tea and getting that and his favorite mug on the table he sagged down on the couch.

Just as he was swinging his legs on the couch he remembered a lesson from a long time ago. He grinned when he remembered Qui-Gon’s words ‘no boots on the couch Padawan and no icky smelly socks either.’ After removing boots and socks he made himself comfortable and after finishing a cup of tea he fell asleep.
His last thought was ‘yes I will plant a seed for Rashtah. His spirit will appreciate that wild garden. Maybe Siri will follow my example.’

---

Anakin was the last to thank Master Firesta for her lessons and she said “till next time Padawan Skywalker. I will recommend you to follow the advanced pilot training. You are one of the best pilots I have seen in all the years I have been teaching.”

Anakin said “that’s wizard Master Firesta. Yippee. See you” and he left the hangar in a run.
‘Master should be at home, having to take it easy after his surgery.’

And he found his master at home, snoring on the couch and he frowned when he saw the bandaged feet and the arm encased in the brace. ‘No strenuous activities after my surgery. You know how fussy the healers can be when you rip a stitch', that’s what master told me. What has he been up to?’

The pencil drawings are stunning and beautiful.

Your skills are remarkable! You caught all the characters to well and the drawings are such an addition to the story!

*hoort iemand mopperen!*

Okay, I am off to bed, but not without complementing you to this story once more! Libary trips can make dirty. Even without reading dirty books. Ah well, Jocasta's dirty looks and all the clothing that got dirty are enough dirt!

grin

And I love the humor!

Yoda did touch her hair and after I saw that picture of Jocasta I knew I had to do something with that hair.
Thanks hugs

All thanks for your great support and here is the final chapter of this story.

Chapter 31

Anakin entered his room and found the usual rubbish – to his master that is – cluttering the desk and shelves and every free space. He parked his bag in the closet after getting his dirty clothes out and sniffling slightly he wandered to the nearest laundry chute.
‘Get them to the chute Padawan. How many times have I told you that dirty, moist clothes will attract moulds and become quite smelly.’

A sad frown passed his features. ‘That had been many months ago and after his accident master never commented on my dirty laundry anymore. He just keeps his clothes clean by delivering them each day to the laundry chute or when he has a lot of time take them to the laundry room.’

Returning to the apartment he grinned when he saw two sleepy cerulean blue eyes opening and the owner of them sitting up yawning broadly.

“Anakin, you’re home.”

“Yes master and those lessons were wizard, absolutely fabulous and Master Firesta, whew you should have seen her, zooming around me and engaging me in dog-fights. That was ballistic master. She can out-fly any Republic jock. I learned a lot and now I can participate in her lessons for advanced pilot training. Whew Master I even could nail direct hits on her fighter when she engaged me and she said that I was the first Padawan that could do that.”

“And that will get us more of your ‘happy landings’ Padawan, not to mention frightening other drivers” Obi-Wan said in a neutral voice.

“Master, this was starfighter-training; not speeders and the like. You did have starfighter-training as a Padawan? Yeah. And if you don’t like to fly the craft you can program that Arfour astromech to do the flying. Those Delta-aethersprites have an astromech you know. Or I can do it for you.”

“Uh, no. I think I will recline that offer. I am glad you had such a nice training-trip.”

“And you master, you are looking tired and why are there bandages on your feet?”

Obi-Wan looked down to his feet and for some reason he didn’t want to go into detail about his trip and wanted to keep Siri’s revelations private and Nejaa and his son a secret.
“I have been on a trip to Corellia with Kaagi Adin. He was invited by Hanjo Tavar and I got along because he needed a patient for his lectures at the university. And I liked to see Hanjo again and being unable to take care for myself – the healers had put my arm in a sling to keep me out of trouble – Kaagi’s help was very much appreciated.

And Siri’s. She was there to bring supplies to Nejaa Halcyon. Corellia has a training facility for Jedi and maybe we will go there one day for some outdoor sports training. Siri stayed there and I was with Kaagi the guests of Hanjo Tavar who has his house quite near to the facility. After a swim in a lake with Siri a thunderstorm surprised us. We returned to her cabin on the training facility. She had lost her sandals and I gave her mine and that got me two little cuts and . Ah that reminds me of your present.”

Obi-Wan stood up and after entering his bedroom he came back with a box. “For you Anakin. We visited Keara’s shop. And Keara has repaired my sandals and now I don’t need those anymore.”

Anakin opened the box and grinned “flashy coloured ones. Nice I will use them on the feet of my new dro” and he stopped when he saw his master’s face.

Obi-Wan asked “yet another droid? When you are knighted this place will be crawling with droids. You can use them when we go to the training facility or here at the swimming pool.”

Anakin took the slippers out of the box and removing one boot he tried them on. “My feet are too big already master.” And grinning “you will be my little master soon.”

“Big feet don’t always go with big height Anakin” Obi-Wan said and he was smiling when he remembered a certain teacher with his big feet and the pranks Reeft and Garen lured him into. ‘Wanakko-Verka our biology teacher and when we visited the swimming pool and saw his clogs standing on the edge we made sailing-boats out of them. And he even gave more of his old ones to the crèche after seeing what we made.’ And hearing some rumbling he said “you are noisy and to grow big you need food, lots of that. Come let’s go to Serinka.”

“Dressed like that master? Where are your clothes?”

Obi-Wan grinned and said “clean and in my bedroom after a visit to Kaagi for my therapy. I used his changing cubicle and they disappeared in the laundry chute.”

A frown passed Anakin’s features – his master was always known for having clean clothes and Kaagi was the opposite – and he asked “Kaagi considered them dirty?”

“Yes, covered with spider-webs, dust and more from the ducts.”

“Duct-crawling, I should have been there” he said with a pouting voice. “Where did you crawl to?”

“The archives. Siri had some return-material and Ferus delivered that in a squeaking cart to the archives. Siri and I followed him through the ducts and Master Yoda joined us. He sat on a grate that broke and he was surfing down” and Obi-Wan told the entire story.

Anakin was hollering with laughter and said “next time I visit Spanners I will ask him to bring more stuff to Master Nu.”

“Maybe Spanners and Tomy are banned from the archives from now on or will get only copies after delivering those abominations to an archive-master. I haven’t heard the rest of the discussion because I had to visit Kaagi.”

“Oh, I can bring your stuff.”

“And leave me without the pleasure to visit Nu? No way Padawan.” Obi-Wan went into his bedroom.

Anakin mused ‘I will have fun with the visits to the technicians. Don’t need his big-little-brother-adventures and those visits to Palpatine are more educational for me. He takes me to the senate and he always praises me when I tell him about my achievements. And master! He is so dense when I tell him about anything technical. Fly safe and don’t do anything exhilarating, that’s my master.’

Obi-Wan came back dressed in his Jedi-clothes and Master and Padawan visited the restaurant and on their way back temple supplies to restock the kitchen-cupboards.

Obi-Wan smiled when he found what he needed in the shop and Anakin gave him a curious look.

“Birds master?”

“Yes birds to feed.”

- - - -

The next day Obi-Wan was up at his usual time and after the ritual of waking a sleepy Padawan, breakfast and mediation he saw Anakin leaving for his lessons.
‘And now those stitches’ he thought and after putting some clearplast bags in one of the pouches on his utility belt he walked the short distance to Siri’s apartment.

Siri met him with a smile “nurse Siri is waiting for you” and she dangled the cap she had gotten from Maariah before his nose.

Obi-Wan snatched it from her hand and ran away grinning “catch it if you can and be my nurse.”

Siri followed and the two Jedi ran the entire distance to the healer’s ward, riding banisters and getting some curious looks from other Jedi. They passed the opening double doors to the healer’s ward zooming past a startled Vin Nawarra and ended up in Kaagi Adin’s treatment-room.

“Catch Kaagi!”

Kaagi caught the nurse-cap and threw it with a big smile on his face towards Siri.

Obi-Wan gave a sigh “no Kaagi that’s wrong” but his face betrayed him. He enjoyed the coming scene between Siri and Kaagi because had seen what Kaagi was holding in his hands.

Siri donned the cap and said with a snug smile on her face “on the treatment table patient Kenobi and remove your boots and socks first.”

Obi-Wan did as ordered and sat down on the table.

Siri said “down” and she pushed him to the headrest.

“Even worse than Enga” Obi-Wan muttered.

He felt some tugging at his left foot that stopped suddenly.

“Siri! You need these”

“Ooh”

Some krisp-squeek sounds and “yeach, yikes, are they always like that” and Obi-Wan felt cold hands touching the same foot, grabbing the bandage and tugging on it.

“Don’t squirm Kenobi. Hey I have to remove those bandages with these icky cold things. Keep that foot immobile. You are a healer’s disaster.”

“Gentle, Siri, be gentle. Look you can do it this way.”

A relieved sigh escaped Obi-Wan’s lips when he felt Kaagi taking over. Same kind of gloves but warm and gentle, taking care to let the patient feel almost nothing.
He heard the little sounds of stitches being removed and being put on a metal tray.

A muttered “can I remove those cold things?”

A gentle “a few moments more nurse.”

A surprised “Wow, never knew you put so many stitches in those feet. Ah figures, he has big feet.”

“Anakin tells me I have small feet. I gave him those slippers and his feet didn’t fit. He calls me little master because he says he will grow bigger soon.”

Siri smiled “little master Kenobi I like that” and she patted him on his chest.

Kaagi said “done. Siri you can remove your gloves and you can wait in the reception area. I have to give patient Kenobi therapy for his arm.”

Siri gave a relieved smile and she tugged at the gloves and dropped them in the waste bin before leaving the treatment room and closing the door behind her.

Kaagi was doubled over “nurse Siri and she fell for my cold-gloves-from-the-fridge-trick and your reaction to her was priceless.”

“Yes but I was glad you took over. Never liked cold gloves and those were ice-cold.”

Kaagi gave Obi-Wan his therapy and said after finishing “your arm is becoming stronger already and just a few days of taking it easy and you are fully recovered.”

Obi-Wan said “Anakin will like that. Sparring lessons with me and maybe a mission from the council.”

Kaagi said “and try to stay out of trouble this time. Tomorrow same hour” and he gave him a wink with his left eye knowing that the Jedi would turn up some day again needing his services. ‘A Jedi’s job is often dangerous and a Jedi-healer’s job is never finished.’

---

Obi-Wan saw Siri sitting in the reception area and said “I want to show you something. You remember that day I took you to that garden and told you almost everything about what happened to me?”

Siri nodded.

Obi-Wan continued “from my room in the surgery-wing I could see a tree and a nest with birds and I want to show them to you. On the day I was released from the healers’ ward the young birds of the first couple were leaving their nest and I want to see how they are faring. And the second nest too.”

The two Jedi walked to the small wild garden near the healers’ ward and following the winding path they came to the meadow.

Obi-Wan paused for a moment and a slight shiver passed through his body. In a dream he had been here, a dream about a black mask, a white mask and a redeemed being.

Siri noticed this and putting a hand on his shoulder she said “dreams, you know what Master Yoda always said. They pass in time.”

Obi-Wan replied “maybe you are right” and he walked to the middle of the meadow pulling the sack of grains out of one of the pouches. He sprinkled the grains in the grass and retreated to the bench and sat down.

Siri joined him and the two waited.

It didn’t take long for the first bird to arrive beginning to peck the grains. Soon the others arrived and it was a beautiful sight to behold.

Siri smiled when one bird flew towards the tree behind their backs and dropped his poodoo.
“That will make a new tree or bush.”

“Yes and we will plant some more seeds. I want to honour Rashtah. He was only doing his duty” Obi-Wan said and stood up and walked a short distance to a clearing where a large tree was casting its shadow on the forest-floor.

This piece of forest was fitting for the Wookiee and Obi-Wan knelt and dug a small hole. Out of his pouch came one of the clearplast bag and a seed was dropped in the hole.

Siri took the second bag and dug two holes where she put her seeds. She said “for Idsert and Feahin. They died because I couldn’t use the Force.” And with her beautiful voice she sang:

To die takes just a little while.
They say it doesn’t hurt.
But I know better.

I have heard their cries.
I have seen them in my dreams
I remember too much about what went wrong.

Maybe, maybe
I should learn to forget.
Release my memories in the Force.

I can
Yes I can because I have seen them
In my dreams,
In my memories

Forgiven they say
All is forgiven.

She felt Obi-Wan’s hands on her shoulder and turning around she hugged him.
A friend, forever hers and she would treasure these moments in her heart and if and when he needed help she would be there for him. “You were there for me Obi-Wan and I can live again with an open heart. I can see the joy of life and you healed me.”

Obi-Wan held her. She was his friend and he felt that in the Force they would be bonded forever. He stroked her gently on her back and looked up towards the large tree with the nest. Just behind one of the supports of the roof was a well known master looking down.
“Yes Siri and up there is our little helper.”

Siri gazed upwards and smiled “thanks Master Yoda for bringing us together.”
