“A slimy verdant Sithspitly snake, that was the Hutt-poodoo I had to deal with” Siri Tachi stormed away her last words to her former Master a virulent uttering of Huttese and other curses from about all languages of the galaxy.
Master Adi Gallia gave a meaningful smile. She had expected these outbursts for some time after Siri’s return from her undercover mission. What she didn’t expect was that Siri didn’t want to tell her about her life as Zora at all.
She had been meditating with Siri in the garden of a thousand fountains and stood up. She knew where Siri was going – sparring with her Padawan – and she wanted to watch her.
She smiled ‘I was there when Siri met Ferus Olin the day of her return and asked him to become her Padawan. Ferus Olin and Siri were meant for each other from the first day Siri saw him in the crèche as an initiate. He is considered very mature for his age by many Jedi, extremely gifted and his strict adherence to Jedi rules and protocol helps her. The day after her return I had met Siri in private – she was after all still my Padawan – and had a long conversation with her.’
A sad look came on her lovely features ‘Those vacant eyes when I asked her about her experiences with that slaver-gang and those softly whispered words telling me to leave her alone. Asking her if she wanted help and she offered to be put on voluntary probation until she had relearned the Jedi-skills. I granted that wish and we have been meditating now for days.’
Adi Gallia came to the room where Siri and Ferus were sparring and she smiled. She walked to one of the observing booths and took a seat.
She observed the training. Siri was up to her usual skills with her lightsaber and although some moves were different she was a good match for her Padawan.
‘She must have learned those when she was Zora. Still behaving like a Pirate. Effective when you are fighting with a vibroblade but also a bit aggressive. Whew I have seen some of those pirates fighting but Siri is their equal and more. Great move Padawan. No not those words.’
She heard the shouts and some curses from Siri correcting her Padawan and saw her demonstrating a move.
Another Jedi Knight came strolling towards the training-room and Adi recognised him immediately; Obi-Wan Kenobi. She observed him ‘a bit thin and still showing the after-effects of the ordeal he had gone through.’
Obi-Wan remained standing at the entrance.
“Padawan pay attention to this”
Siri stepped right, left, a sharp turn and jump, slashing with her saber and making a parrying move at the end.
Adi saw Ferus repeating the move flawless.
“And now together”
Siri began her move and Ferus tried to dodge her.
Adi saw Siri’s lightsaber touching the tunics of her Padawan and grumped “Siri now you have another tunic to repair.”
“You are too timid. Attack Padawan! Come and get me, let the Force flow through you.”
Ferus began his attack again.
Adi smiled when she heard a soft chuckle and she saw Siri turning her head.
“Touché master”
“He got you master Tachi”
Adi saw Siri saluting Ferus and walking towards the exit of the training room where Obi-Wan was standing.
“Oafy-Wan is at it again. Hey I see you are wearing that utility-belt I have given you for your 24th birthday. You still have to tell me about that mission to Zonoma Sekot and why you lost your utility belt and Qui-Gon’s lightsaber.”
Adi saw them walking away and she wanted to excite the observing booth. A soft harrumph stopped her and she saw Master Yoda taking a seat next to her.
“Obi-Wan helping her he will. Siri helping Obi-Wan now she is.”
Adi Gallia asked “will he tell her the entire story?”
Yoda answered “maybe, maybe not. Both need healing they do. Meet you again I will” and he walked away.
Adi Gallia smiled ‘with Yoda making plans help for Siri was coming. My Pirate will become a Jedi again.’ and she exited the training-room.
‘Soon, very soon you will meet Yoda again’ the Force whispered to her.
