	Title: A Trip in Time Author: Alexis_Wingstar Timeframe: Mostly during the Clone Wars sometime after Anakin Skywalker is knighted, but before ROTJ Characters: Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin Genre: AU, Time travel Summary: Master Obi-wan Kenobi gets in a tight spot and is rescued by… Anakin. Is this a surprise? Note: This was written for the PT write/re-write challenge #14 which was to write a scene in which Anakin saves Obi-wan. Anakin walked. He let the Force guide him to his destination. Once there, he stood quietly in the shadows as he watched. A ginger-haired Jedi yielding a blue lightsaber led battle droids away from where his troops were laying in wait. The young Jedi Knight knew the troops would split up, some storming the enemy strong hold, and others would make a pincer attack, striking from behind at the droids who were attacking their general. Then it happened. A rumble from underground shook the rocky terrain. With a mighty roar, a giant centipede-like creature with multiple tentacles erupted from the soil, throwing boulders through the air as though they were pebbles. One narrowly missed the general. Another boulder plowed into several battle droids, knocking them over like dominoes. As the creature grabbed the Jedi, Anakin looked around. Where is he? He should be here. He turned back to view in horror as the Jedi was slammed against a cliff wall, about twenty feet above him. He was surprised when he suddenly felt a rock that had been knocked loose hit him on the shoulder. What? That’s not supposed to happen! Even so, he jumped away from the cliff, and saw the lightsaber the Jedi had dropped. Instead of drawing his own lightsaber, he levitated the fallen one to his hand and ignited its blue blade with a snap-hiss. He sliced into the “centipede”, which loosened its prey in its death throws. Anakin slowed the descent of the Jedi’s body, and caught it before it hit the ground. “Master Kenobi, are you alright?” To the young knight’s relief, the Jedi Master put his hand to his head and moaned, but then looked around with clear cerulean eyes. “Yes, I’m only stunned.” He took his lightsaber, which Anakin handed over. “Thank you… who are you?” He asked as he turned to fight the oncoming droids. “Anakin,” the younger Jedi said as he withdrew his own lightsaber and ignited its violet blade to fight alongside him. The two Jedi fought as they spoke. “Perhaps I hit my head harder than I thought!” Giving a lopsided grin, the young man said, “Perhaps, but then, I’m Anakin Solo, not Skywalker.” “Oh… well I never heard of you.” “That’s because I don’t exist right now… or at least I shouldn’t.” “You look real enough.” “I… I’m real, but I belong in the future.” “Are you sure you didn’t hit your head?” Anakin laughed and shook his head as he deflected a blaster bolt back at a battle droid. “I know it’s hard to believe, but I learned from force users other than Jedi an ability called flow-walking in which you can go through time to observe the past or future. But I guess I somehow tripped and wound up doing more than observing.” “So, you rescuing me might mess up the time continuum.” “I don’t think so. Anakin was supposed to rescue you, but… he isn’t here… but I’m Anakin… so I guess I was supposed to rescue you.” “Okay, that sounded really crazy… but I think I understand.” “I’d better disappear and you can say he rescued you.” The two Jedi could see the droid forces dwindling rapidly, and the blaster bolts from the clone troopers coming ever closer. Obi-wan nodded. “On my mark, go!” The Jedi Master used the force to scoop a great deal of dust and rocks in the air towards the droids, and in that moment, Anakin quickly made his way back to the shadows of the cliff wall. He watched as Obi-wan and the clones finished off the last of the battle droids before going into a trance to flow-walk back to his own time. “So, how was your walk?” Jacen asked. “It was a nice trip.” The End -----signature----- "Change. 	Nice, Alexis! I wasn't expecting that you would use Anakin Solo. Nice twist on the instructions. “I don’t think so. Anakin was supposed to rescue you, but… he isn’t here… but I’m Anakin… so I guess I was supposed to rescue you.” “Okay, that sounded really crazy… but I think I understand.” “I’d better disappear and you can say he rescued you.” Isn't time travel fuuun?
