Happy
Han’s Lucky Day
Han patted his old friend on the back. “Lost her fair and square buddy,” he said. His excitement betrayed the attempt to console Lando Calrissian.
Lando sighed. “You know, Sabbac is as much luck as it is skill, and knowing you I’d say you had a good deal of luck on your side today. “
Han wore a mock expression of confusion. “What are you trying to say?”
Lando wagged a finger. “You’re being too cocky.”
Chewie wuffed a hearty laugh.
Lando glared, “No need to rub it in, for that matter.” Handing Han the access codes, he pleaded, “Now that she’s yours, how about a ride off-planet?”
Sad
Love Lost
Leia ceased firing and merely stood staring as the yellow and orange clouds, stained by the Bespin sunset, seemed to swallow Boba Fett’s Slave 1 like a hungry beast. Sadness and despair descended upon her with each kilometer that the bounty hunter’s ship sped away. At last she and Han had confessed their love (Han in his own special way), and no sooner had it happened than Han was frozen in Carbonite and whisked away.
Sadness had overtaken her. It was so strong that she almost didn’t react in time when the Stormtroopers began to arrive near the landing platform.
Curious
Sticky Situation
Chewie heard a cacophony of gibberish bursting from the Ewok hut. The celebration had died down for the evening, and many of the heroes of the Rebellion seem to have succumbed to fatigue, sleeping soundly. Chewie could not however, and decided to take a late stroll in the cool evening air. That’s when he heard the din.
He wondered what could cause such a ruckus, and he knew that it wasn’t his business, but since they were part of the tribe now…
He found himself stuck in the window. As he struggled, he heard a familiar laugh. Han.
He moaned.
Angry
Not a Scratch, Right?
Han walked with Lando, each with a drink in hand, Chewie trailing them. Han continued to tell of his exploits at the bunker and Lando countered with his tale of the assault on the second Death Star. The Forest Moon’s usual nighttime songs of nature were drowned by the celebration of the Alliance.
It was a joyous scene, at least for a time, for the trio soon approached some of the Alliance craft, including the Falcon. Han glanced up, the chuckling ceased abruptly.
“Where’s the dish? You promised: Not a scratch!”
Knowing that Han was a little drunk, Lando ran.
Content
In His Arms At Last
Leia settled in Han’s arms after the transport had jumped into hyperspace. Tatooine became no more than a speck and a memory. Soon they would join the gathering Alliance fleet. Han Solo had washed up, got dressed, and then relaxed, having found a soft seat. He sighed. He swore that he could still feel the effects of the Carbonite freezing, but Leia’s warmth was a fine remedy.
Ripped apart so soon after expressing their love; this quiet time after his rescue was worth more than the reward he so eagerly sought when he first rescued her from the Death Star.

First!
Good to see you back, E! As in the past, you do Saga missing scenes very well. All of these were on target.
Angry made me laugh. Land ran! *skakes head* :-P
Content also stuck out because I've read little to nothing about Han right after escaping Tatooine. Very original.
Great start!

The thread title is perfect, your Han is perfect, and this is one of the most perfect H/L lines ever:
Ripped apart so soon after expressing their love; this quiet time after his rescue was worth more than the reward he so eagerly sought when he first rescued her from the Death Star.
I enjoyed this first set very much!!

I'd always wondered what Han's reaction would be when he realized what had happened to the
Falcon
. Loved the title of this one.
Lando's lucky Han was drunk.
Fabulous!!

Those were wonderful!
Sad was heartbreaking but you captured Leia's emotions so perfectly.
Knowing that Han was a little drunk, Lando ran
I always wondered how/if Lando explained that one!
Great beginning and I look forward to more

brodiew
- Thanks, brodiew. Good to be back. I’m glad you liked the entries. “Content” was something that somehow popped into my head. Similar to that one I think is Bespin, except this scene is a ‘prior to’. Hope you like it.
earlybird-obi-wan
- thanks for visiting the Drabble Emporium again. I’m glad you liked them!
VaderLVR64
–
– thanks! You’re on the list. You
are
the list.*
*for additional enjoyment, the last two sentences can be read in the voice of Fezzik and Miracle Max respectively.
ginchy
– thanks for reading. Watch it with the high praise. I won’t be able to wear my baseball hat if you keep that up.
DarthBerryStraw
– I always enjoy making the ladies laugh. Do keep visiting!
dancing_star
– nice to see you again! I have a Luke fic here for you!
KELIA
– thanks! I’m glad to see you in the Emporium again.
amidalachick
– now that’s high praise indeed. Thank you very much.
And now...Week 2!
Week 2
1. Alderaan
2. Yavin IV
3. Bespin
4. Hapes
5. Dagobah
Alderaan
Pending Doom
The sky was bright, blue, and cloudless. On any other day this was be idyllic. Today however, it was a mockery, for hidden by the azure veil was the Death Star. Hidden for years and only recently confirmed by Rebel spies, the mechanical monstrosity had entered the Alderaan system.
Bail wondered if the reports were true – that Leia was aboard the space station. Knowing Tarkin’s mind, he deduced what was to come.
News of the arrival leaked to the public, which scrambled in fear looking for answers; for solace. Bail could only offer a resolute, defiant stand on the balcony.
Yavin IV
Pending Strike
The sky was dominated by the gas giant of Yavin. The swirling gasses seemed to threaten the small moon.
How fitting that we’re in the shadow of this giant sphere
, Luke thought.
Soon we’ll be in the shadow of another - smaller, but no less menacing.
He shook his head and cleared away the troubling thoughts. There was joy to counter the dread: he was reunited with Biggs! He wondered if he’d ever see him again and now, just as they’d imagined on Tatooine, they were together; about to take on the Empire!
He smiled as Biggs cried, “Ready Luke?”
Bespin
Pending Betrayal
The sky clouded over darkly as Lando switched off the communicator.
“Lousy deal,” he growled. His whole life involved making deals, cons, swindling the naïve, making contacts; all the while avoiding the Empire’s gaze.
Until now.
And just as my Tibanna Gas mining venture was doing so well. Naturally that is in part due to the Empire but that’s beside the point, right?
What really stuck in his craw was the way Vader made swift and numerous demands.
No. To be honest it was his role in Vader’s scheme.
Could I ever forgive myself?
In vain he wrestled for solutions.
Hapes
Pending Proposal
The evening Hapan sky cast an angelic glow about Leia. The nebulae were as a halo and several moons mimicked a tiara as they lay in the background. Isolder was stricken by the vision.
He tried desperately to focus on her discussion of Hapes joining the Alliance, but all he could do was to look into her eyes and then lose himself in them.
What was it about this woman? Hapes is full of beautiful ladies, strong and willful. Is it that Leia is an off-worlder?
Leia stopped and smiled, looking at him curiously.
Oh, that’s it - her smile.
Dagobah
Pending Disappointment
The sky was hidden by a thick blanket of fog. Luke made it to shore. Artoo wasn’t so lucky, but thankfully droids didn’t taste well, so he made it to solid ground in his own unique way.
He cleaned Artoo, in turn sorting his own thoughts and setting them in order. The planet didn’t seem a likely place for a Jedi Master, yet there was a familiarity.
Did the Force cause him to dream of it once?
He couldn’t wait to find the mighty warrior and begin his training.
Through the bevy of strong life forces, he sensed a visitor.

First again! Your power of suggestion is amazing!
Bespin
was my favorite of this set. I like the picture you painted of Lando and the corner in which the Empire placed him. It's good to know that he regretted it from the start. ;-)
Bail's caourageous end was also well played in
Alderaan
. Reminded me a bit of Jor-El in Superman legend.

I could feel Luke's excited at being reunited with Biggs in
Yavin IV
!
Bespin
made me pity for Lando. Poor guy was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Don't worry, I'll keep reading.
