	Cubie, they actually STAYED in the house?! I would probably high-tailed it out of there after #3, and surely with the red-eyed Ghostbusters-demon-dog thing. :o MM, where are you from? 	Darth_Chaka, good guess. All that stuff happened in Huntsville, AL. It's funny you mentioned the Ghostbuster thing, because I mentioned the same thing, when she told me about it.(she said it was 'sort of' like that, but that was the only thing she could think of to compare it too) That Civil War stuff does tend to be the beginning point of odd occurences. Before I came to school, one of my friend's family owned a mansion(his mother grew up in the house, but at the time of my story, they lived in a house behind it. Anyway, it was around before the Civil War, and was part of the Underground Railroad(there were ledges for people to hide on in the inside of the chimney). At the time of the Civil War, it was used as a hospital, and was actually burnt to the ground, with the exception of that chimney. It was rebuilt shortly after the war. There were lots of stories of weird things happening to his mother and grandparents, when they lived in the house. I can't remember real detailed things, but stuff like: doors slamming(remember this was an OLD building, so we're talking big, heavy doors that usually drug on the floor and were just all around difficult to open and close), random foot steps, shadowy images at night, feelings of having someone sit on your legs, while you're in bed, etc. Anyway I was in there once, and we were going to get something(a jacket I think). The place was not lived in anymore, so we had to take our time going through it(luckily most of the rooms had lights we could turn on). When we got to the room were the jacket was, we started to hear smoke alarms going off. They weren't making the noise that sounds when there's a fire, but just that beeping sound when the battery is low. They started real faintly and in rooms that were far away from us. It was like a wave moved through the house in our direction, and it made every smoke detector in the house start beeping, until finally the one that was in the room we were in started to beep. So there we are, standing in this alledged haunted house, when all of a sudden every smoke alarm started to go off. Do you think my friend and I looked at each other and said, "Holy ****!" And then ran like hell to get out of there? You're damn right we did! Sadly, they tore that house down a few years ago. 	I love stuff like this! Please forgive the vague-ness of this story, but it would be too hard to explain otherwise. Anyway, I was with a good friend and a woman I didn't really know well, at a place that has been rumored to have a lot of paranormal activity. Whenever I walk into the place, it's got that "hair standing up on the back of your neck" feeling that just never goes away, no matter how many people are there. The three of us were talking about a person that had died a very long time ago, and this particular place was one the person frequented. The woman I didn't know well started talking about how this person had died, and really changed the story from what we had both heard. The instant the woman changed the story my head started to buzz, nearly to the point where I was going to get a headache. I had this overwhelming feeling that something was wrong, and that someone was watching me, and I was scared to death to look out the window behind me. The woman continued on with her story, the feeling worsening all the while, and I noticed my good friend give me a wary glance, and look out the window behind me very strangely. Finally, I tried to ask her to stop and discuss something else, but not knowing me well, she didn't really understand what I was asking, and I was too polite. My friend told her flat out that she was getting a very creepy feeling, and didn't want to discuss it anymore. She apologized politely, and we discussed something else. After a few moments, the panic subsided, and then everything was fine. My friend and I discussed it after we left the company of the woman, and we had both gotten the exact same feeling of the story, independent of each other. Now, I had no connection to the person that died, the place that we were in, or any real knowledge of the events that led to the person's death. I've been to the place several times since that night, and have not experienced any sort of presence of that caliber again. 	I've seen human figures that disapear before my eyes, but that was always at the edge of sleep, when I wake myself up in the process of drifting away. Pretty weird. One was this woman figure who was bending over and seemed to hide something. I was in a bunk bed at a friends, so I thought it was his mom in his room. I propped myself up a little to get a look, and the figure looked up and vanished. Another was when I was sleeping in the family room with a bunch of friends staying overnight. We decided to call it a night, because we were so tired. I fell asleep for a short time, and woke up realizing the TV was on. I opened my eyes, and a boy was sitting Indian style against the wall, motionless, staring at me, lit by the TV light. I blinked, and he was still there. I rubbed my eyes, and he was gone. Other friends were still watching the movie and hadnt noticed it, so I never mentioned it. Actually, this is the first time Ive admitted these publically. Dont know what to think of them. I know my old house was haunted, because thats the only time anything remotely weird happened their. I just assumed it was my mind playing tricks. 	Dogs certainly have greater sensitivity with hearing,eyesight(most breeds), and smell than humans do. They pick up stuff we don't. The earthquake situation is interesting to.
