This is actually an interesting aspect I never really paid much attention to--when exactly did Qui Gon learn how to be immortal? It would seem it was at some undefined point in his past when he came across a shaman who instructed him. So this would mean that for the entire length of TPM, Qui Gon really is harboring this secret that he has the ability to live forever. It would have been interesting to make this integrated into his character better. It also raises some questions--that being its somewhat suspicious the way he would not share the biggest discovery about the Force in Jedi history.
Well, I think it's safe to say he was on the right path but didn't figure it out entirely. He is never able to manifest himself as a force ghost, nor is he able to have lengthy conversations even with someone as powerful on the other side of the phone as Yoda. Further, unless George is going to do more editing, his presence has evaporated by the time of ANH.

I'd have to say the scene just before the podrace in TPM, where the eopie passes gas, and JarJar says, "Peeyoosa!"
Jokes like this belong in Police Academy movies and Post-95 Eddie Murphy movies, NOT IN STAR WARS!

Ya know, I tend not to post in this thread because I find it kind of bash-y (bashish?), in the sense that it doesn't invite a lot of discussion: Someone bashes, then we all move on to the next guy or girl's bash. Booooo... NEXT!
But I have to admit the eopie fart represents a real low-point in STAR WARS for me. I love the Saga and I like/love (most of) TPM... but come one. Farting in STAR WARS? It. Just. Isn't. Right.
I could kind of see Jar Jar stepping in poodoo outside Mos Espa. It's a big town, lots of livestock. WELCOME TO THE CITY! But a filmmaker has to go out of his way to document the moment of a pack animal passing gas. He has to make a whole gag out of it, in medium close-up, consisting of I think 4 shots -- as opposed to the earlier poodoo bit which is part of a larger "ENTRANCE" tracking shot, with Jar Jar farther back and the poodoo partially offscreen.
Maybe it's ridiculous to examine things that closely. Which is precisely my point.

I may be few but I like jar jar dont kill me! anyway he was rather funny but what irritated me the most was probobly the fact that in episode three they didnt show the battles to a greater extent .

But you're wrong! The eopie farting on Binks represents his lowly position in the Star Wars galaxy at that point. Even a pack animal hates him.

If you thought the eopie fart was bad you should see the deleted scene--an extended eopie fart scene, I'm not making this up. Its in the extended pod race scene on disk 2 of the TPM DVD. We see Jar Jar behind the Eopie, we cut to the Eopie's face, it looks back and sees Jar Jar there and then clenches its face as if its making the bowel movement of the century and then we cut to the shot in the film of its butt as it farts and Jar Jar jumps back and goes "pee-yousa!" I wish this was an unfunny bit of satire but sadly an entire team of god knows how many people were paid untold thousands by George Lucas to give the world this brilliant ten seconds of Star Wars gold.

I have the same reaction to fart jokes in Star Wars as I do to them in Disney movies. Old Walt is probably rolling over in his grave with some of the trash in the newer films. Star Wars is the same way. There is childish humor and then there is toilet humor. It really took the movie down, as the poster above said, to the level of Police Academy. Not good. I'm glad we didn't see any of that in any of the later films.

Things that people pretty much know happens but never really like to think about:
Aliens farting.
We know they do it, but did we need to see graphic evidence of it? I don't. It is like saying Darth Maul or Obi-wan periodically have to use the bathroom. Its like DUH, but I don't want to think about that part of their lives in Star Wars! So the fart was not needed to have humor, it was a bit too juvanile in my opinion.

One of the scarier moments for me in SW rumor land....
Just to add my two cents to this thread - the most cringeworthy part of SW is Han and Leia's phoney baloney relationship in ROTJ. I thought ESB handled it elegantly, but by the time everyone ends up on Endor in ROTJ, the cutsie rodents had ruined the momentum. So, let me make this a qualified most irriating part by adding any scene that includes an Ewok or is on Endor.

I find I wasn't that annoyed by lots of the things in the prequel saga as other people seemed to be, but, the scene that makes me cringe whenever see it; even though it isn't even that much of a big deal is...
