    Hmmm. I gather there is some dispute over whether Ventress and Savage were truly Sith (they were in my eyes) but I can drop them.

    I'm thinking of a blindingly obvious Jedi Padawan but also acknowledging that Inquisitors are neither Jedi nor Sith, though at least one used to be the former...

    I personally don't view either Asajj or Savage as Sith and I'm not sure why, they just don't seem the part. Although I did just noticed I forgot to add Ventress to the Jedi

    Is Ezra even officially a Padawan? I know he's being trained in the Jedi arts, but (a) he was never reviewed for membership by a council and (b) his "master" was never actually confirmed as a Knight.

    Good question. Luke was only partially trained by OB-1 Yoda, and also did not go through the trials (unless you consider facing Vader in the cave or in Bespin) and he is called a"jedi"

    But thats not the normal approval process or enterance criteria for either faction. Anakin went through a number of years of training before earning the rank of Jedi Knight.

    You could argue that Luke had both criteria that I mentioned above. (a) he was reviewed by the council as it existed at the time (OB1 and Yoda) and (b) was trained by two masters.
