Who is your favorite Sith, and why?

Greetings, my Master. I give you my next task. Thank you for your patience.

I found this to be a challenging question, as there are so many excellent options. I had initially worked on a post about Yaru Korsin. I admire his intelligence, cunning, and leadership skills, and the way in which he was able to secure power and help the lost tribe of the Sith thrive on the foreign world of Keshtah for many years.

I also considered Marka Ragnos, Darth Plagueis, Darth Tyranus and Darth Vader.

I have, however, come to the conclusion that at the present time, and with the knowledge I currently have or don't have, that Darth Sidious is my favorite Sith, for many reasons.

I highly recommend the Darth Plagueis novel for fascinating backstory about Sheev Palpatine's (Darth Sidious) life. I will keep spoilers to a minimum in consideration of those who have not read the book. I'll just say that Sheev's relationship to his parents is, shall we say, interesting. His Sith Master was none other than the amazing Darth Plagueis himself. Also worth noting is Palpatine's "discovery" and relationship to a certain infamous Zabrak we all know and love.

I reckon the main reason I chose Darth Sidious is due to the way he was able to masterfully manipulate the invasion of Naboo to further his political power. His unprecedented political mastery ultimately led to him becoming Emperor of the Galactic Empire.

Along the way, he was Master to Maul, Tyranus, and Vader.

He engineered the near total annihilation of the Jedi Order with Order 66; leaving Masters Yoda and Kenobi with no choice but to shamefully flee into exile. Not to mention the chaos and death he had previously created by starting a galactic civil war.

The Emperor also oversaw the creation of a wicked superweapon that destroyed Princess Leia's planet.

The shadow of Darth Sidious towers over every single event in GL's SW saga, even when he is not onscreen. For me, he is the perfect incarnation of a Dark Lord of the Sith. Highly intelligent, extremely manipulative, patient, ruthless, and truly terrifying in his mastery of the dark side of the Force.
