I was suposed to be there when they knighted you. But instead, I am dead, and because of that, your path through life has warped into a new shape. So promise me some things.

Promise me you will remember how to laugh when faced with a question you don't want to answer.

Promise me you'll be able to smile and tough out the pain if someone is counting on you, even if it seems much more practical to give up.

Tell me you'll go down fighting. That you'll do something with your life.

Promise me you'll learn to be the teacher, though you are barely a student yourself.

Promise me that you'll be the adult, though in my eyes you are just a child.

Promise me you won't let yourself get old, wallowing in guilt for everything you've ever done wrong. Promise me you will learn to apologize.

Promise me you'll be be a leader, though you have just discovered you can be the follower.

When on Endor, do as the Ewoks.

Promise me that you'll leave your mark on the world. Be remembered.

I hope that once in a while you take some time off to watch sunsets.

Everywhere you go, try to see a sunset, because no two sunsets are the same, nor are any two people

Learn to love and to loose. To buy and to sell. To give and to take.

Oh, and one more thing.

Promise me you'll train the boy.

Yes.

Promise me that, so I can rest in peace.
