Title: LOST AND FOUND 17/4 Obi, Q.G.J and
    others
    Author(s): GKilkenny
Timeframe: AU Before the JA books Obi is Five in
    the beginning.
Characters: Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Yoda Mace and
    others.
    Genre: PG
Keywords: Obi Angst- and maybe comfort.
    Summary: A camping/training trip turns into a
struggle for survival for one little boy.
When Presumed dead, he is left behind on a
planet all alone. Will he survive?
will the Force save him?. Or will the Dark
    side finish the job.

Notes: This is My first attempt at posting
a story, Mostly I love to read. So I
am writing for the fun of it.
I don?t own any of the characters from the
movies or the books, all other characters are
    from my imagination.

Jedi training begins in earnest as soon as the youngsters can walk, they are trained in the Jedi tradition, they are trained to be the defenders of the weak, guardians of peace in the galaxy.
But in the beginning crèche lings learn balance, levitating small objects and how to meditate using the force.
As they grow their training becomes more involved they study philosophy, History, diplomacy, and seek to better understand the nature of the Force and their connection to it. The study of other planets in the solar system is a necessary requirement.

Children from the age of five and upwards go to the planet Rayma for training, which is three days travel from Corrusant.
It is a planet that was practically wiped barren by a fierce ion storm some fifty years before.
Small pockets of inhabitants were gradually starting to populate the areas where
vegetation and trees had begun to reappear.

The Jedi used the Deserted side of the small planet for training in survival plus a camp out.
The area used by the Jedi was a mixture of plains and was quite mountainous in parts, very rugged terrain, below the plateau a fierce river ran through the mountains.

A team of seven Masters and their senior Padawan?s and several Knight?s escorted 20 crèche initiates ranging from five years through to eight year olds to the planet for instruction.

One Master/Apprentice team was Qui-Gon and his apprentice Xanatos. The training was two fold it taught the young ones survival technics, but also was a trial for the Senior Padawan?s.
These Padawans were about to take the step into Knight hood and were required to show their skills when dealing with very young children.
Xanatos was a brooding young man who disliked children especially those who were bright in the force.
Over the past two years he had been meeting with a Senator from Naboo, every spare chance he had he would spend time with the Senator. He liked him, he always felt important when he was with this Senator.
Xanatos was fed up with being the perfect Padawan to his Master, Xanatos wanted riches he wanted the good life like the Senator had.
This man filled his head with thoughts of riches and power, until Xanatos could stand it no longer and asked the Senator for his guidance and help.
The Senator was an evil man and had manipulated the Padawan into turning to the Dark side.
With promises of riches and power beyond his wildest dreams, and all Xanatos had to do to achieve his dream was to do one little job for the Senator.
Over the past five years the Senator had been assaulted with visions of his own demise, in his vision it was always the same.
A Jedi bright in the force, hunted him down, all his plans destroyed because of one Jedi, the problem was the force was protecting this Jedi, the Senator had felt the shift in the force when this child was born.

He knew the child was in the Temple but was not sure which child it was.
Every time he came close to discovering the child?s identity the force would block his senses.

The Senator had told Xanatos to find and bring the child to him.
Xanatos thought he had a fair idea which child it was.
His Master Qui-Gon had been very interested in a small fair haired boy by

I really like the idea and plot for this Gkilkenny. I hope you have more to post. :)

One thing though... It does get a bit confusing reading your dialogue because some of your quotes will be in the middle of a character's statement. Clean that up a bit and it'll flow a lot better! :)

Here is another suggestion. Don't post the update in your first post, it confuses me and 'I believe' other readers as well. Update it as a new post.

Cold?. so cold?.. he was shivering.
(Why do I hurt so much, I should be warm. Why am I cold) these thought raced through his head.

He felt cold and sick his head was pounding. Open your eyes he thought and when he did, he could see blue sky, he moved his head and pain shot through it.
He lifted his hand to touch the thing around his neck. It was burning him, he tried to pull it off, but
    to no avail.
He looked around he was laying flat on his back at the edge of the river. The water was rushing
    over and around him.

(I?m in the water) he thought How did I get in the water? What happened? to me.

He sat up slowly his head hurt, he felt around and found a big lump on the back of his head.
He was so wet and cold he stumbled to his feet, to get out of the water, he staggered out and sat down on a rock in the sun.

After a while he thought (Where am I) (Who am I) that last statement made him realise he didn?t
    remember anything.

Just around the bend he could hear the sound of rushing water like it was falling and crashing down.
He was scared and he didn?t know what had happened to him.

He got up and started to walk towards the sound.
Soon he was standing very close to a large waterfall that dropped a few meters then crashed onto a ledge then dropped again and then onto another ledge.
Looking down made him dizzy, so he stepped back away from the edge as he stepped further back
he didn?t notice a large hole behind him, water was cascading down it.

He stumbled back and fell into the opening, he started to slide, as he did he started to scream.

This hole did not go straight down, it seemed like a massive slippery dip winding slowly around and around.
It was quite a large tunnel and air travelled through with him. It seemed to go on forever and it was very dark, wrapping his little arms around himself he slipped further and further into the black hole.

In the distance he could see something, a small dot.
He centred his eyes on the spot and as he got closer the dot got bigger, until it became a bright light.
Then slowly he realised it was the end of the tunnel.
As he slid out with the water he ended up in a large pond.
The force of the water behind him carried him half way across the pond.
He splashed to a halt he could feel solid ground under his feet so he stood up.
It was a pond nestled at the foot of a mountain, surrounded by plants and trees, if he wasn?t so scared and cold he might have thought it was a beautiful place.

Once he climbed out of the water he looked around for the big waterfall he had seen earlier before he fell in the hole.
It was gone. He looked up at the mountain it was so high. He wondered were the waterfall was.

He looked back past the pond and could see lush green grass, trees, bushes with berries on them and flowers.
In the trees he could see fruit hanging from the branches.
Turning away from the pond he could see lush foliage and an abundance of plant life.
Through a clearing he could see flat ground, with clumps of funny looking trees, that had bunches of yellow things hanging down like fingers.

He was still shivering, but soon the sun was beating down on him warming him and drying his clothes.

For some reason he felt safe , his head was hurting and he was getting sleepy, he went over to a
clump of the bushes and laid down in the grass, soon he was fast asleep.

    ???

Back at the Temple Qui-Gon was waiting at the space port to greet the search team as they came
back he had hoped that they would have found the boys body.

Qui-Gon felt so guilty about the fate of the little boy, every time he closed his eyes he could see the
pleading look the boy had shot him just before he was taken to his death.

He had felt a disturbance in the force and should have acted upon it, but he hadn?t and now an innocent child was dead.
The news from the retrieval team was not good they had given up the search, the boys body would remain forever on Rayma.

Qui-Gon was devastated; he blamed himself for not listenin

A year went by and Obi and Krag became good friends.

Krag taught Obi how to defend himself.
Before the Wookie became a slave he had worked with some Jedi and had learnt many of their exercises and skills.

So he taught them to Obi.

Krag explained to Obi that when he was able to use his force abilities properly he would be able to go and get help.

They had explored every inch of their home and the only way out was to climb the mountain.

But unfortunately Krag was unable to climb because he had been crippled by his owner, and was
unable to use his hands to grip anything.

He could walk but he couldn?t bend his legs very well.

Krag knew the boy was afraid and would not leave until he was much older, so they settled back and made this place their home.

Over the next two years Krag taught Obi as much as he could about survival.
He taught him how to count.
It was hard because the Wookie didn?t speak Basic very well and it was hard to teach
someone properly when he hadn?t had much schooling himself.

The boy was growing stronger every day, but even at eight he would not leave Krag to go find help.

Krag knew he was running out of time he was not a well Wookie, and knew he had to teach this boy as much as he could before it was too late.

He spent every waking hour trying to build his confidence and prepare Obi for a time, when he would be alone again.

By the time Obi was nine, Krag knew his time with the living was close to an end.

His heart was breaking with thoughts of Obi being left alone.
He tried to hang on to life, but he was just too weak to continue.

Krag was not one to pray, but he believed with all his heart that, he had been sent here to
be with this child for a reason, he wouldn?t believe otherwise.

Obi didn?t know Krag was so sick.
He had told Obi that he just had a fever. hoping that he would get well again.

One night Krag wasn?t feeling well, he had been sick for a couple of days
Sometimes he would be so hot he couldn?t stand the heat then he would be shivering and
    he coughed a lot.

Krag had drunk all the water in their cave so Obi went out to the pond and filled the container.

While he was there he gathered some food, when he brought it back to the cave it was so quiet.

Obi couldn?t sense his friend in the force, he rushed to where Krag was laying and put his hand
    on his heart.

Nothing?. Obi hitched a breath and called out Krags name?.nothing?.

Obi let out a wail, he knew his friend had passed into the force.
He sat there for several days not wanting to believe he was gone.

Finally he said his goodbyes and left Krag in the cave.

Obi would never come back to their home he would go back up to his first cave.
He had abandoned it because Krag couldn?t climb up to it.
So once again Obi was all alone.

mouse2 thanks for reading. More coming.

A year past, even though he didn?t know how old he was or how long he had been there,
    it didn?t seem to matter.

He thought about Krag and how he had been there for him, and when he was sad he would
practice the lessons the Wookie had shown him.

He had food and water and the little animals in the forest were his friends.

He played with them, and helped them store food for the winter months. Several of the animals spent the cold winter months in Obi?s cave.

They Kept him company on the dark and lonely nights.

Each day when the sun rose so did Obi and he continued to do the exercises Krag had taught him.

He had long since forgotten about trying to go for help, he knew he had been there for a long time and he remembered being thrown off the mountain, he just decided that he was not wanted and that?s why no one ever came for him.

At night he would sit and stare at the stars imagining they were some one he could talk to.

He would whisper to them, asking them why this happened.

He would ask the stars what he did that was so wrong, to be left all alone.

He asked if any one ever thought of him, if they ever looked for him.

Some times he would hear things in his head but he didn?t understand what they were saying.

He sometimes wished he knew more about the force so he could talk to somebody, like the
Masters did with their Padawan?s,(with that bond thing) He thought.

He sighed watching the stars, when suddenly one started to twinkle and it grew bigger
it seemed to be getting closer.

He didn?t think stars made a noise but as this one got closer it did, then he realised it was a space ship not a star.

He nervously watched as it landed at the other end of the paddock.
He could sense something familiar in the ship, but was not sure what it was, it scared him and he wasn?t going to go near it anyway.

He didn?t want to make another friend then loose them.
He was confused and scared, even though he wanted some one to talk to He was afraid.
So he hid in his cave.

    --------

Two weeks earlier, back at the Temple Master Yoda had been meditating in the room of
    a thousand fountains.

He had been sensing a disturbance in the force for many months now.
At first the ripple he felt was very weak, hardly noticeable.

Only when he was deep in meditation had he felt it.

It was as if someone was reaching out to him, wanting to talk, the presence felt sad and lonely,
    then it would disappear.

But now after several months the presence was getting stronger.

The ripple became a wave and it happened each night for four days.

Master Windu and Qui-Gon had noticed the look of despair on the wise old masters face and could feel his sadness through the connection they shared with him.

Whenever he came out of his meditations, they would ask what was wrong, but only got a cryptic reply

?Tell me what is wrong, the force should; then we all will know?

They could feel the exasperation bubbling in him. Then finally he said.

?Come with me you will, meditate with me you must. Tell me what you sense you will?

mouse2 Glad your still reading thanks

Mace and Qui-Gon knew it would do them no good to protest so they obeyed the command
and followed the small master to the meditation gardens.

After several minutes of deep meditation all three felt a faint presence it seemed far away.

A sense of loss was felt, loneliness, desolation, but projected out from the presence was a brilliant white light.

?What can it be? Master Windu commented.

?It appears like someone is trying to reach out to us. But from where and why?? Qui-Gon inquired.

?Familiar this presence is, place it yet I Cannot. But come to me it will? Yoda stated.

?It is unusual that we sense a presence, we have no bond to another and yet we all sense it.?

?The presence seems faint and fluctuates in and out, It seems very far away, and who ever it is only has minimal training in the force? Qui-Gon admitted.

He thought it impossible that it could be coming from a person.

Each night the three Masters tried to connect to the presence, but it was as if the presence
either didn?t know how to or didn?t know it was broadcasting.

After the eleventh night Master Yoda sprang up from his meditations jolting the other two
    out of theirs.
?Master Yoda what is it, what do you see?? Mace inquired.

?Planet I do, grass and trees, Pond Force sensitive being there, felt that presence before have I long time ago, five years to be exact.

    ?Five years Master? Qui-Gon asked.
?Why hasn?t this force sensitive being contacted us before now??
?Whose presence is it, is it someone we know, another Master perhaps. What planet is it?? Qui-Gon inquired.

?Child it is Boy of Ten he is? Yoda said nodding his head vigorously.

?Ten, but that would make him five when you last felt his presence." Qui-Gon queried.

?Five years Master Yoda, what planet are you talking about?? Mace queried, realising
before Qui-Gon what Master Yoda was implying.

"Planet is Rayma? Yoda nodded briskly.

?You cannot mean that we are feeling the presence of the child Obi-wan Kenobi??
Qui-Gon blurted out ?But he is dead. How can we feel him after all this time?

Understand I do not, but know it is him I do, go we must to Rayma find our lost one
we will." Yoda said as he hurried to the exit with two larger Masters practically running
    to keep up with him.

As their craft entered the planets atmosphere they could feel Obi-wan?s presence strongly
they honed in to his signature like a homing beacon.

Landing in the rather large section of land cradled in the mountain, they could sense fear and sorrow coming from the boy.

As they flew across the paddock, they could feel that he was the only human life form
    for hundreds of klms.

It was dark, but they wanted to find the boy as quickly as possible, they sensed he was afraid
and alone, they couldn?t imagine how he had survived for five years by himself.

The three Masters headed in the direction they knew the boy was. They had packed blankets, food, water and medical supplies for the trek across the paddock.

They arrived at the pond, Obi-wans presence was very strong, but they knew he was hiding.

Mace set up camp near the pond while Yoda sat on a rock and meditated.
Qui-Gon gathered some wood for a fire.

From his cave high up in the mountain Obi watched the three men, he wished they would go away, but at the same time he wanted them to stay. He was lonely and frightened.

He watched for a long time, he could hear them talking, the sound of their voices
soothed him and not before long he was asleep.

Master Yoda opened his eyes and spoke. ?Asleep he is. ?Wait till daylight
to approach him we will? ?Keep watch over him we will?

They sat by the fire trying to figure out what had happened to him, how had he survived.

?Answers are here to find ? Yoda motioned with his stick pointing towards the
the rocks at the other side of the pond. ?Guiding me there the force is.?

Qui-Gon rose taking a glow rod, he came back several minutes later.
Holding a journal, one that a pilot would have.

?What did you find Qui?" Mace asked.

Qui-Gon sat down by the fire and said. ?There are bones in the cave
by the size, and shape it appears to have been a Wookie. This Journal was laying near the bones."

He opened it, all three could speak and read the language of the Wookie
Qui started to read some of the first entries.

?Our ship crashed here, others all dead. I killed the Slaver pilot before he killed me.

Met a young child today, the boy gave me food and water he saved me, cleaned my injuries, he is alone and very scared.
Someone put a force inhibitor collar around his neck, he was in pain, I gained his confidence and removed the collar.

I smashed it into little pieces with a rock and threw it away.

Once the collar was off he remembered that someone named Xanatos threw him into the river
I could not speak to him because my vocal chords were damaged.
But we communicated with our own home made sign language.

Most of the time he would tell me of his life such as it was.

I am writing all this down just in case I don?t make it, I have been teaching
    him to fend for himself.

I am preparing him to leave here to get help, I will make sure he takes this journal with him.

He told me that when he was thrown in the river he fell down a hole that wound through the mountain for a long way and came out here into this pond.

I am not sure how long he was here alone, he was very scared when we met.
He only looked about four or five years old?.

Qui-Gon stopped reading. He flicked through a few pages most of these entries were just of every day things. They would read them later.

Then Qui chuckled. ?Krag tried to teach Obi how to hunt, but the boy would not let him kill anything."
Yoda cackled softly "Good heart has this boy. No darkness resides in him?

?Krag writes that most of the winter months they spent in the cave. Obi didn?t have much clothing, so Krag kept him warm by wrapping his hairy arms around the boy. He made him some clothes out of banana leaves. He shredded the leaves and plaited them together to make a tunic for the boy. They salvaged some containers and a few tools from the ship, but most of the ship had burnt out. There were no clothes for the boy he writes? Qui-Gon said.

?There are many entries in the journal of their life together.? he added

The sun came up and with it the smells of food cooking wafted into the cave.

Obi-wan stirred, he could smell this wonderful aroma, it made him hungry, very hungry.

He crept over to the entrance of his cave and could see the three people sitting around a fire.
A pot of something was balanced over the flames.

The wonderful smell was coming from the pot.

He watched as one of the big men stood up and faced towards his cave.

?Obi-wan are you hungry, we have made some breakfast there is plenty here. Obi-wan we know your watching, we will not hurt you, we have come to rescue you.?

When Obi heard the man say his name he scurried to the back of his cave.
(How does he know my name) he wondered.

He concentrated on the force, he could feel no evil coming from them.

As a matter of fact he felt a warmth fill him. It was like someone was filling him with happy thoughts.

He gradually crept closer to the entrance. The three hadn?t moved.
( I am really hungry) he thought.

His hunger fought a battle with his fear, hunger won.

Obi stood up walking to the edge of his cave, all three Jedi looked at the boy, a boy whom they hadn?t seen in five years.

At first glance he looked like a swamp waif. His skin was brown from the sun, he was naked.
His hair was a golden sandy colour that shone in the sun.
It hung down nearly to his waist and it appeared to be a mass of knots.

    He stood watching them warily.

?Obi-wan please come down we will not hurt you? Qui-Gon said. ?We have lots of food and we want to share it with you?
Obi-wan was hesitant, but then he thought that they might take the food away and it smelled
    wonderful. So he started down.

Mace and Qui-Gon both jumped in momentary panic, when the little one jumped out into seemingly empty space, but caught a vine that was hidden from view.

He climbed down to a branch overhanging the pond, then he ran along the branch, jumping down to a boulder.
Then catching hold of another vine he swung across the pond and landed lightly on a large rock overlooking the three masters.

Obi crouched down then sat on the rock.
He sat just far enough away from them in case they tried to hurt him, he could run away.

Mace smiled at Qui-Gon then commented. ?Spritely young fellow isn?t he?

?He reminds me of those monkeys from Balor 3, all arms and legs? he whispered.

?Hello young one? Yoda said. ?Glad I am, that found you we have?.

A look of confusion lit Obi?s face.
?You talk funny? he said staring at Yoda ?Can I have food now?

The Jedi glanced at each other, Obi-wan spoke like a child a lot younger than his ten years.

They surmised that because Krag was unable to actually speak to Obi, he hadn?t learnt
basic language skills any further than what a five year old would say.

His skills in levitation and balance appeared to be more advanced than some of his age mates.

They just hoped that he wasn?t mentally damaged.

Qui-Gon filled a bowl with stew and held it out to the boy.
?Come and get it, it is good?

Obi jumped to his feet shaking his head. ?Nooo.. no, not come you might hurt me?. He stuttered.

?All right take it easy, calm down? Qui said ?I will put it over on that rock then you can go and get it OK??

The boy nodded. When Qui had returned to the others and sat down, only then did Obi jump from the rock he was on to the other rock.

A feat in it?s self as it was a fair distance even for an adult to jump.

When Obi had finished the stew, he held the bowl up. ?More?"
Master Yoda shook his head. ?Make you sick if too much you eat, your system is not used to the food we bring, make your stomach sick it would."

Obi-wan looked down at his stomach. ?You silly, Obi?s stomach not sick.?

Mace asked ?What do ?You? eat, do you have any food.?

Obi nodded. ?I have lots of food, I show you? He jumped down from the rock and took off into the undergrowth.

Several minutes later he was back holding a piece of curled up bark.
In it was an assortment of berries, roots, fruit and nuts.

Hey Gkilkenny, glad to see you writing while I was away. What a treat to come home to.

I love Obi and Wookiees so I love this. I love the whole wild child aspect of this too.

I have to add an obligatory "BAD XANNI BAD."

Hooray! They found Obi! And's he's starting to trust them a bit.

Can't wait to see what happens when they take him back to the Temple. :)

Seven: This is really good! I simply can't wait for more!

Vader: What do you know anyway? This story stinks.

Seven hits Vader over the head with a pan: Stop that. You just think that because your NOT in it.

    Vader scouls: Your point?

Seven: Shut up and let me compliment the story.

    Vader pouts: Fine.

Seven: Good boy! Like I was saying, this story rocks out loud. It's killer. I really liked the Wookie. He was sweet. And poor Obi being lef all alone.

Seven: Oh well, at least he won't have to worry about Xanatos. Since he's all insane and force stripped.

Seven: I'm really looking forward to more! =D=

    Vader: Are you done now?

    Seven: I think so... Why?

Vader smacks Seven over the head with a pot: That's why.

    Seven: [face_beatup] Waaaaaah! :_|
