Before - Legends May the Drabble Be With You (Obi/Qui/Dooku/KOTOR/OCs/CCs...all welcome!)

Note: Ok, I've been writing drabble (piece of writing of exactly 100 words) as a way of trying to get past this darn DWB...I thought I'd post some up and then I thought perhaps others would like to add their drabbles as well? So, please have a go and add your own! Any Before characters welcome!

Title: A Part of Me

I lean over and gently stroke his face, he grins before slowly opening his eyes and looking at me.

?It?s morning. Time to rise little one.?

He nods, his bright blue eyes gazing into my own.

I move away, but he holds out his arms to me and how can I help but lift him from his bed and hold him close to me.

He rests his head on my shoulder and I smile at how right it feels. He is a welcome weight in my arms and in my heart.

He is a part of me already. My Obi-Wan.

?Master!? Urgent.

?Yes, Qui-Gon?? Patient.

?Have you heard?? Excited.

?No, Qui-Gon.? Patient.

?They haven?t told you?? Confused.

?Told me what Qui-Gon?? Not so patient.

?Master Yoda said that you would know!? Frustrated.

?He did? Well, I don?t know Qui-Gon.? Impatient.

Silence.

?Well Qui-Gon?? Annoyed.

?Yes, Master.? Obedient.

?Are you going to tell me?? Frustrated.

?Tell you what Master?? Patient.

?What it is that?s so urgent.? Confused.

?I don?t know Master.? Not so patient.

?You said Master Yoda said I would know what?? Frustrated.

?Oh. He said...he said...? Thoughtful.

?Yes?? Impatient.

?Er, well, um, you see...I?ve forgotten.? Worried.

Silence.

 

These are great Kes! The first one was quite sweet, and the second was so funny and cute!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of these!

 

How cute! I'll probably give it a shot. It will take me a little while.

Characters: Padawan Qui/Tahl

"Hello Tahl."

"Hey."

Qui-Gon stares at Tahl.

"What?"

"Oh nothing. Uh... How's your day?"

"I've been better. Yours?"

Stares.

"Qui?"

"Huh? Oh! Mine was okay, I guess. Have you worked on your project for Physics yet?"

"It's was difficult, but I manage to get it together. Thanks to my master."

Qui-Gon continues to stare at Tahl.

"Qui-Gon!"

"What?"

"What is up with you? You keep on staring at me like I'm a freak! What's wrong with you?"

He shift from foot to foot. "You look pretty today,"
He said quietly.

"Oh. *Blushes* Thank you."

Still Alive

A small dish was set before Obi-Wan and Master Qui-Gon with great flourish. They were dining in the royal hall of Racembro and the king was serving them his planets most prestigious dishes. Obi-Wan eagerly dug into the dark red delicacy but the Master was wary.

?Obi-Wan look,? he whispered. He then tapped the food with his spoon. It wiggled in the bowl for a moment then stilled. ?It?s moving. I think whatever this is, is still alive.?

Obi-Wan carefully set down his spoon and gave his Master an exasperated look, eye brows raised.

?Master, it?s jello. Just eat it.?

Bastila leans back in the kitchen chair and lets out an anguished moan.

"Was it that bad?" Gando asks, concerned.

She doesn't say anything, she just looks at him, a sick look on her face and nods yes.

"You don't look too good hon.." he notices.

She takes a second and tries to stop her stomach from churning and says.."...I really appreciate you trying to cook this time but.."

She stops mid sentence, her face suddenly looking a color it's not intended to look and runs to the 'fresher.

"Did I use too much rancor pepper?" he wonders.

 

These are all great. It is soooo hard to write something exactly 100 words too.

Title: The Night After

You open your eyes to find that Qui-Gon is already awake, his gaze, so full of love, washes over you and you smile. His eyes crinkle in the corners as he does so, and a hint of a dimple in his chin shows through. Automatically you reach out your hand and brush against it with your fingertips. Qui-Gon bends his head to kiss the tips of your fingers.

?Good evening my love.?

?Evening?? You reply. ?What happened to the morning?the afternoon??

?They?ve been and gone.?

?Oh.?

He opens his arms and you move towards him, move into his embrace.

 

Oh how I wish that was real!

Dark amber eyes glanced up, rather distractedly. "Did you need something, Qui-Gon?"

Hesitant.

"Well...it?s just...I?" Qui-Gon dithered, staring. ?I don?t mean to interrupt, but??

?Yes??

"-But what are you doing?"

Dooku was perched precariously atop a table, amid of sea of Younglings and paint containers. A smear of colorful paint marked one cheek and several long fingers. What was more, he was leaning over what appeared to be an absurdly precise finger painting. ?I?m supervising,? he murmured, returning to his work. "Of course.?

?Oh.? Qui-Gon blinked.

There was a slight pause; Dooku thoughtfully considering his painting, Qui-Gon watching in baffled silence. Finally, Dooku shrugged. ?If you?d like, there?s more paper over on the table.?

Qui-Gon grinned.

The Night Before

?Are you hungry??

You shake your head.

?Do you want to get up??

You shake your head again and are rewarded by a deep chuckle which brings a sleepy smile to your face.

?And I thought I was the old one in this liaison!?

?You?re not old Qui-Gon,? you murmur.

More laughter.

?Thank you. You know you?re obliged to say that though by the very nature of our relationship.?

There is a brief, but comfortable silence and you can feel yourself drifting back to sleep.

?Love??

?Mmmm.?

?Are you asleep??

?Mmmm.?

?Well, wake up and kiss me.?

And you do.

Between Master and Padawan



Qui-Gon

He didn?t move.

You have to let him go.

Baleful young eyes held my own, until I flinched and turned away?only to stumble onto a pair of unblinking citrus eyes.

It was a rare time when Yoda failed to lecture my Padawan in front of his own master. As if the Temple itself would crumble if I were to take into my incompetent hands such enormities as disciplining my own Padawan.

A strange coincidence therefore, that we should be in the lower levels- where the walls were slowly cracking into disrepair- when he found us in this silent confrontation.

Same Old Situation


?Obi-Wan?? He?s grumpy.

?Yes, Master?? I?m tentative.

?Your elbow is in my back.? He?s grumpier.

?Sorry, Master.? I shift. The space is tight, the transport over-crowded and we share a small bunk.

?Your ankle?? Concern is under his fatigue.

?Throbbing.? I answer.

The Force shifts, warmth flows over my leg. The pain is lessened.

?Thank you, Master.? I sigh.

?I shall teach you how to do it yourself, young one.? He sighs, ?Just as soon as I get some rest.?

I nod, he can?t see it. ?Yes, Master. I think it would be a good thing for me to learn.?

 

This was such a good idea Kes! It's really helping me write little somethings in a pressure free zone!

obi About time we had a bit of kotor in here! Poor gando, try to do a nice thing and it blows up in his face

Charmisjess Loved it! The idea of Dooku concentrating that hard on finger painting.. *snrk* and the ending actually made me see why qui-gon and dooku would be such a good team!

J_L What a nice new angle on the 'same situations' I loved how they had an almost unspoken (or at least, monosyllabic) routine- makes you wonder just how often they do deal with this!- it really shows how seamless a pair they are! Nice one!

 

Hey Stella_Ripple, thanks for the review! I might have to correct you, it's Tahl who's blushing not Qui. But that's okay, thanks to all who reviewed. I need some more ideas for another drabble.

Title:Braids & Bows
Characters: Qui/Obi/others

"Master Qui-Gon, may we play with you hair?" Qui-Gon was surrounded by
four crenche girls. All looking at him sweetly.

"No girls sorry, I have to leave."

"Please Master. It won't take long. PLLLEEEAAASSSEEE?"

Qui-Gon sighed. He didn't want to break the girls' hearts by the looks on their faces.

"Alright."

The girls gave each other a smile.

30 minutes later...

Obi-Wan woke up from his nap on the couch at the sound of the door opening.

His eyes widen at the sight of his master.

Qui-Gon pressed his lips and bust out, "Don't ask, Padawan! Just don't."

His hair was in tiny braids and numerous colored bows at the end of each one.

Obi-Wan said nothing. He watched his master stomp to his room.

When he heard the bedroom door slam shut, he burst into laughter & into tears.
