    Plot SUMMARY
Sometimes, fate and the Force conspire to bring people together from across the stars. The Ties that bind keep us in place, but what happens when they pull you in a direction you don't want you to go? Sometimes water is thicker than blood.

    Prologue

The colourful hues that rose as the setting silver sun flooded the sky with a bright illuminence that could only be described as brilliant, deep dark reds, bright pale blues, and streaks of silver naturally painted the cloudless atmosphere for only a few short minutes as the pulsar star changed orbital position with its larger, cooler, red sibling. Soon, the night would be over and the silver light that illuminated the endeavours of the night would be replaced by the harsh light of day. Throughout the night the sky would sporadically shine, as dense particles amongst the gas nebula surrounding the suns reflected light towards the planet?s surface.
Watching the night lights was a pastime for all the residents of Galantos, but only very few did it often. Only those who could afford to rest and relax for the twelve hours that the silver sun cooled the planet watched the spectacular light show. For most of the citizens of this core world, night was only time to do any outdoor work, as the daylight proved too hot to handle.
From his lofty perch 300 stories above ground level, the founder, owner and Chief Executive officer of Helios Industries surveyed his property. As far as the eye could see, and even further, his ingenious technology stretched. Sol Victus Helios had set up the galaxy?s largest energy capture system. The dual phase solar energy collector, encased in a durasteel frame, set to float on the planet?s vast equatorial ocean, collected solar energy from both of Galantos? suns, converting and transmitting the vast amounts of energy collected to each and every household on the planet.
His true claim to fame (not to mention fortune) however, was his ingenious energy preservation and storage device, capable of holding trillions of mega electron volts of energy for sustained periods in operable, friendly conditions. The adaptation of the two technologies soon spread from the Core to the Mid rim worlds, bringing clean, safe, reliable, and renewable energy to trillions of people across hundreds of systems. It had catapulted him from the life of a small time research scientist to the owner of a multi-billion credit company, allowing him to spend his time watching over the people of his home world, as their unofficial benevolent leader , as his employees ensured the continued success of his solar energy farm. What he spent his leisure time doing however, he kept as a closely guarded secret.

The usually dark cloudless skies of the city planet glow an eerie red, as the flames encapsulate the once opulent and sacred structure that housed the Jedi for over several millennia. The busy sky lanes were abnormally free of traffic as clear canopied troopships maintained a perimeter around the burning spires.
    Pain
    Suffering
    Death
    Destruction
The troops clad in the scientifically engineered, pristine white armor brought all four in vast quantities.
Pulled forcefully back to reality, his sleep cut abruptly short, former-Jedi Councilor Yelaahhrahh arose fitfully from his sleep-couch. The latest installment of these terror filled premonitions truly worried Yel-rah. His forme

What he spent his leisure time doing however, he kept as a closely guarded secret.

    Poor Xanatos!

I can relate to him being unhappy over such a boring assignment.

On the other hand, who's to say the assassin won't try to strike again...[face_worried] [face_worried] [face_worried]

    Great update

However, I've refound a passion to complete writing this story, and have made some changes to the original post, and added a plot summary. Next chapter will be up in 2 days.

    Chapter 1
The Galantos sunlight crept over the horizon and began feeding the expanse of solar generators with invaluable power, filling the vast coffers of Helios Industries with credit upon credit. Credits which flowed to employees, charities, and various trust funds, helped the underprivileged and the financially needy, built roads in rural regions, community housing, schools, universities and hospitals, while jobs were created for those willing to work. Once a higher standard of living was achieved for the hundred or so million citizens of Galantos, and its economy successfully grown to a self sustaining level, Helios Industries' profits were filtered to various off world charities, spreading its vast financial clout to aid the lives of those in need. But sometimes financial muscle didn't change the world for the better but made it worse, a point Sol- Victus acknowledged somewhat uncomfortably, having seen the damage some of his own money had done. Overcoming the problems of corruption, excessive bureaucracy and ministerial malpractice were almost impossible by his usual means, but his money did get him contacts, and contacts got him in touch with powerful people, people who could change the world with their other-worldly powers of persuasion.
    _____________________________________________________________________
Sal-ran Ken stood in the safe room, enclosed by 6 inches of solid reinforced permacrete and a warming blanket, sipping a cooling cup of hot green tea, as select members of her security detail viewed the footage of the attempted assassination, and others tried chasing down the latest bounty hunter who had made yet another attempt on her life. Ever since she had exposed the corruption in the Republic Senate, revealing the underhanded dealings that lead to billions of missing credits from the Chancellor's Galactic Health Fund, she had acquired many powerful and dangerous enemies, enemies who could get people ?taken care of? with relative ease.
The only positive of the situation was that the Chancellor of the Galactic Republic had been notified and had petitioned the Jedi Council to provide security and investigate the assassination attempts. The Selonian Government had provided their number one business leader and richest citizen security while on planet, and had even contacted a galactic security service, who had provided her with a security detail, a heavily armoured and fortified ship and an individual who the other security guards followed with a respect that bordered on reverence. Patenting a cure for cancer had its benefits.

The thrum and hiss of the lightsabers rang out across the expansive training room as the various masters and padawan pairings practised their combined fighting techniques against various training droids and other Jedi teams. The window at the far corner reflected three Jedi of varying rank in a 2 v 1 training bout. With lightsabers at a safer setting of half strength, Obi-wan Kenobi and Xanatos De Crion moved in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar tandem against their present and past Master, Qui-Gon Jinn. While the objective of the exercise was to teach the art of 1vs 2 fighting, both younger Jedi struggled to pick up the subtle movements and techniques on show by the Master Jedi. Even though Xanatos had passed the trials and been promoted the rank of Knight, he, like all other Knights knew they still had things to learn and skills to improve upon.
The blur created by the speed of Qui-Gon?s movements made Obi-wan dizzy, for he had never seen his Master move this quickly, and although he called upon the Force to enhance his own vision, he was not able to use this power while enhancing the speed of his movements, making him slow and a liability to the two man team he formed with his padawan brother Xanatos. He was constantly getting in his way, and had only managed to hurriedly parry the attacks that his Master threw at him. Realizing that he was more of a liability than a
