Week 1 - 4/6/09 - provided by brodiew

1. Flash in the pan

The slave became a free man. He - a small 9 year old boy with a blonde mop of hair ? had been the winner of the Boonta eve classic pod race.

The boy became the saviour of Naboo. He used his skills to destroy the droid-control ship

The boy became the Padawan of an inexperienced Jedi knight who had called him a pathetic lifeform. He considered himself superior to all the Jedi.

He became the hero of Geonosis, of the Clone Wars.
He became the hero with no fear. He was deceived by a Sith.

He became again a slave.

2. Out on a limb

She was the young queen of Naboo. She was always in the picture.

She called for help when the Trade federation put a bloccade on her planet.
She got help from two Jedi Knights and an unexpected ally, an ally that got her into trouble and to a desert planet.

She met a young slave. That meeting sealed her fate.

She and her planet were saved by the slave who became a Jedi.
She was saved by the Jedi and fell in love.

A marriage led her into difficulties, having to hide that marriage from the public, from the Jedi.


3. Out of the blue

Darth Plagueis was the secret master of Darth Sidious.
Darth Sidious murdered Darth Plagueis and took a young apprentice to train.

Darth Maul was that first apprentice. He met a Jedi Knight on Tatooine. He met his fate on Naboo.

Darth Tyrannus was the second apprentice but inferior.
Darth Sidious was influencing another. The hero with no fear as he was called by the public but full of fear, full of anger, despising the Master who trained him, feeling far superior to all the Jedi and having a secret.

Darth Vader became the third apprentice after murdering all his friends.


4. Wet behind the ears

Fate and a promise to his master were responsible for getting a Padawan when he wasn?t ready at all.

The master had told him that he was ready to take the trials and that he would take the boy as his new Padawan.

A small rift had opened between them but it had been sealed when the dying Master stroked him softly on his wet cheek, wiping away a tear and with eyes that spoke of a true love of a father for a son.

He made the promise to train the boy.
He was inexperienced and the boy knew.


5. Heat of the moment

The master had found him on Tatooine. He was a slave boy innocent and eager to help. He won the Boonta eve pod race. He won his freedom and could go with the master. But his heart was where his mother was, left behind as a slave on Tatooine.

The master brought him before the council. The boy was tested.
Master Yoda saw the fear that could lead to anger, to hate and to suffering.
The boy wasn?t to be trained.

The master announced that he would train the boy unaware that he was hurting his Padawan in that moment.

 

What a supreme text, what a force of words!

6. Impossible
The two year old initiate was carried by his crèche master to the garden of a thousand fountains. He was still sleepy after his afternoon sleep but blinking with his cerulean blue eyes he saw something impossible.

?Mastuh Wian?

?Yes Obi-Wan.?

?Mastuh Yoda. Mastuh Yoda.? He pointed with a chubby finger towards the figures meditating on one of the meadows.

Rian Solma smiled ?Obi-Wan, the left one is Master Yoda and the other one is Master Yaddle.?

?Meet Yaddel.?

?Yes Obi-Wan? and Rian placed Obi-Wan on the soft grass.

The two year old boy crawled to where Master Yaddle was.


7. Unlikely

?Mastuh Yaddel?

A green eye opened and closed.

?Mastuh Yaddel?

The green eyes opened and blinked.

?I am Obi-Wan.?

?Meet you nice it is.?

?Mastuh Yoda you are??

?Master Yoda I am not.?

?Same speech.?

Obi-Wan toddled towards where master Yoda was.

?Mastuh Yoda?

A green eye opened and closed.

?Mastuh Yoda?

The green eyes opened and blinked.

?I am Obi-Wan.?

?Meet you nice it is.?

?Mastuh Yoda you are??

?Master Yoda I am.?

?Same speech.?

Obi-Wan crawled to master Rian Solma and waited to be picked up. Confusion was showing in his eyes. Both Jedi were acting the same.

8. Reasonable

?Mastuh Wian.?

?Yes.?

?Mastuh Yoda same as Mastuh Yaddle. He talks backwards.?

Rian Solma smiled when he saw two pair of green ears perch up.
?You reasoning is reasonable but Master Yaddle is a female. You have heard her talking.?

?She talks backwards.?

?But with a higher pitch. Listen.?

?Obi-Wan, Yaddle I am.?

?Mastuh Yoda??

?No Master Yaddle. No gimer stick I have. Female I am.?

Obi-Wan saw Master Yoda standing up and using his gimer stick.
His eyes drifted from Yoda to Yaddle and back.
He pointed ?Mastuh Yoda has stick. Mastuh Yaddle has not. She is a woman.?


9. Probable

Master Yoda was still smiling when he saw Obi-Wan and his crèche master headed to the play ground. He had seen the promising initiate many times during his visits to the crèche and a vision had revealed a great future for the boy.
A question interrupted his musings.

?Put entry in diary you will??

He thought about the diary ?Put it on the table in my room I did. This morning gone it was. Archivist Nu visiting me yesterday she was.?

?Master Yaddle, if find my diary I do.?

?Madame Master Jocasta Nu archived she has.?

?Probable, like other diary.?

10. Definite

Yoda thought about Master Nu telling him where that diary was ?Definite place shelf 10, row 112 and you can come and see it here and here only.? Another thought came to his mind ?Crèche masters complaining about duct crawling initiates they do. Little I am. Get diary back I can. Duct crawling; thanks Obi-Wan.?

 

Oh that was a riot!!!

 

Confusion was showing in his eyes. Both Jedi were acting the same.

Poor Yoda, though. As if having his diary put in the archives wasn't bad enough, now he has to crawl through the ducts to get it!

I love that... At the end of a busy day with many fuzzy and crazy teens this text makes smiley and happy.

11. Truth

I think about what you are feeling
I think about the love you are giving
I think about your smiling face
Siri my great love

You helped me when I returned from Rattatak
You were there in my darkest hours
You saw the hurt, the pain
You saw my wounds, talked to me about my dreams
You showed compassion yet remained strong; my anchor to reality.

Now we are side by side
Giving all the comfort to each other
Giving love.
Love as it was meant by the Jedi code.

No possession
No attachment
Unconditional love.
It is the truth.

12. Trust

Snuggling against the dark brown cloak and feeling the warm hand on his back supporting him the baby felt safe.
He trusted the man holding him.
The man had saved him.
He was being carried to his new home.
The man was smiling.

Wrapped in the brown folds of the cloak and feeling the hands supporting him the baby felt safe.
He trusted the man holding him.
The man had been there when he was born in that sterile operating theatre on that bleak world.
He was being carried to his new home.
The man had tears in his eyes.

13. Honor
She knew he would honor her.
She had seen the pity in his eyes; always.

When she fought him on Ohma-D?un she had seen it.
When she had captured him and began her torture she had seen it.

She had deprived him of dignity, of honor.
She had twisted his mind with a Sith torture mask.
She had tried to turn him to the dark side but he escaped taking her most prized possession; the lightsaber of her teacher Ky Narec.

She told him that he was right about her after all.
She would have made a great Jedi Knight.


14. Loyalty

Fragile, the loyalty of the young Padawan to his young master was fragile and the Sith lord knew.
He had seen the tears in the sky blue eyes when the pyre was lit.
He had heard the knight telling ?he is one with the Force, Anakin you must let go.?
He had heard the reply ?what will happen to me now??

And the knight?s words ?I am your master now. You will become a Jedi. I promise.?

So inadequate, so inexperienced, so young.
?Anakin is an easy prey for me.?
?He will become my new apprentice, he has known love.?

15. Love

Love, it was love Obi-Wan saw in the breaking eyes of his master.
Love of a father to a son.

Love, it was love for his master what made him vow to train the boy.
Love, he knew it was love that had bonded Anakin and Padme.

Love, it was love for his friend, his brother that guided his lightsaber, maiming and not killing.

Love, it was love and seeing a spark of light that had him saluting his friend before he became one with the Force.
Love, it would redeem his friend.
Love of a father for a son.

 

Oh, bravo loved them all!

 

Truth ... lovely. Love -- fantabulous!!!! Loyalty... perfect insight there into the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin and the sneaky deviousness of a Sith LOL

16. Gaze
The man gazed at the young adult looking down on him. ?Would he do it?? He had seen him discarding his chestnut coloured cloak, giving it to a little girl needing some comfort and warmth, guiding her to the safety of a public transport.

He had seen him discarding his boots, his utility belt, his obi, and his upper tunics giving them to a shivering beggar.

The young man was reaching inside his tunics, pulling out a rock, a simple rock. He was unfastening his tunics.
He was smiling, feeling the warmth of the rock, a present given to him.

17. Wink

The rock had been the first present he had received from his master.
He felt the Force flowing through it, whispering to him.

?A Jedi has no possessions, forms no attachments. A Jedi lives for love, true love and gives all to thee; to thee needing a gift. True love doesn?t need attachment. True love stays young forever.?

Giving the man a smiling gaze and a wink with his left eye he gave the tunics and trousers and ran towards the dark alley still clutching the smooth rock.

The man smiled and became that what he had been; a vision.

18. Distance

In the great hall of achievement distance had no meaning. From the outside the hall was just that; a great hall. But once inside the hall became for the Padawan a city, a village, a wilderness, a place for a trial. For the Padawan inside it had been a trial of releasing his possessions.

A smiling master was collecting the things left behind.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was standing in the dark alley gazing upwards to a lever. He was shivering when a cold gust of air created goosebumps on his skin. He used the Force on the lever to no avail.

19. Cold as Ice

He was shivering, he was cold as ice and only the rock still held in his hands provided him with some warmth.

He felt the Force flowing through it.
He saw her, his great love. He felt her caring for him. She was soothing him, telling him that he would be alright, that the Force was binding them together.
He was kneeling down next to her.

?No yours?
He felt a crystal in the palm of his hand.

?Now I will never leave you.?

?You will never leave me?

?Don?t worry so much?

He felt her hand, cold as ice.

20. Eternal Flame

Obi-Wan blinked the tears away and gazed down. In his hands was the rock from his master, his father.

The lever again failed to budge.
He threw the rock towards the lever.

The door opened and he ran forward to the light of the flame.
The light was soothing and he sat down.

He gazed into the flame.
He heard a soft chuckle.

?Found the eternal flame you did. Only Jedi giving away all will see it.?

A cloak was draped around him; the rock was pressed in his hand.

?Obi-Wan let?s go home.?

Leaving he saw a smiling Yoda.

21. Steps
Huddled in the cloak and clutching the warm rock in his hand Obi-Wan smiled when he ascended the steps leading to the exit of the great hall of achievement. He had given away all his clothing.

?Yes; the utility belt that had been a present from Siri for my 24th birthday and I had to use my rock on the lever.?

He had seen a great beauty in the eternal flame and a vision; a vision of the far future where all beings in the Galaxy were living peaceful together.

?But I have seen also a vision of Siri. Why??


22. Stride

Barefooted Obi-Wan followed his master who used his long legs to stride towards an alcove where he picked up a bundle of clothes.

?These are yours.?

?Yes but I will give them away if needed. Master did you take this trial??

With a soft chuckle Qui-Gon replied ?yes and it was Master Yoda guiding me back to the crèche. I was 9 years old and quite embarassed when I got the looks from young Tahl.?

A thoughtful look passed his features ?Tahl, we became friends after that trial, more than friends after we became Jedi Knights. Obi-Wan understood, supported me.?


23. Stumble

?She died on New Apsolon. She was with me when she saved me from the dark side when I had Balog at my mercy. Tahl, my great love.? Tears appeared in his dark blue eyes. He took two faltering steps. He stumbled and the bundle of clothes started to fall from his hands.

He felt other hands ? the hands from his Padawan, one still holding the rock ? preventing him from a fall, supporting him and felt the soft brush in his mind through the bond they shared.

?I know master. We both have a great love. But we are Jedi.?


24. Leap

?We are Jedi and the code forbids attachments.? Master Obi-Wan Kenobi still remembered that lesson when he was fighting for his life on Mustafar on a floating platform in the stream of fiery lava.

?But I had Siri and the Force bonded us together. She saved me after Jabiim. She restored my connection to the Force. No attachment but love, pure unconditional love. And Qui-Gon ? my father ? approved of that love. He was the other supporting me during my imprisonment on Rattatak. They kept me anchored to the light that is the Force.?

Seeing an opportunity he takes a leap.


25. Fall

He lands on the black shore and turns seeking the face of his friend with pleading eyes. ?It?s over Anakin. I have the high ground.?

?You underestimate my power.?

?Don?t try it.?

With tears in his eyes Obi-Wan swings his lightsaber in one arch cutting off both legs and the left arm from his friend.

?You were the chosen one. It was said that you would destroy the Sith not join them. It was you who would bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness.?

Picking up the fallen lightsaber ?this will be the beginning of your redemption.?

26. Gallant

?I hate you.?

?You were my brother Anakin. I loved you.?
Tears streaming down his face Obi-Wan hurries back to the ship. ?I cannot rescue you. All will be lost if I do. Palpatine is coming and I won?t let him have your child, your beloved wife. I have still time to rescue them.?

?Master Kenobi! We have Miss Padme on board. Please, please hurry. We should leave this dreadful place.?

Obi-Wan approaches Padme lying on a medbed.

?Obi-Wan? Is Anakin alright??

He doesn?t answer. What he has done to his best friend isn?t heroic at all.
He couldn?t kill.


27. Filial

?Don?t give up Padmé.?

?It?s a boy.? The droid gives Obi-Wan the baby.

Padmé touches him on the forehead.
?Luke.?

?And a girl.? The droid wraps the little lady in a soft blanket.

?Leia.?

Obi-Wan has a soft look in his eyes gazing from Padmé to the babies and back seeing a great likeness in the children from his friends. ?You have twins. Padmé they need you ... hang on.?

?I can?t? Holding the Japor snippet she takes Obi-Wan?s hand.

?Save your energy...?

?Obi-Wan there is good in him. I know there is still...?

Obi-Wan nods ?he will be redeemed.?


28. Vexation

He has no doubt about that when he is gazing at the offspring of Padmé and Anakin and remembers his days with Anakin.

?He became my padawan, angry after the death of Qui-Gon. But I was no different. I was angry when I saw Qui-Gon slipping away in death, when he was asking me to train the boy. But anger was replaced by joy when he brushed my tears away. My master was like a father to me.?

He grins ?Anakin was angry when the sand was entering his clothes when we were having a free for all tumbling fight.?

29. Sublime

?That was on Lingala after a swim and he was still trying to get rid of it when we rode back to the farm where we stayed during that training trip.
Sand, he never liked sand. It was coarse, getting between and in all things.

?Master it is in my clothes, in my hair, in my sandwich. Yuck.?

And he didn?t like the husans we were riding either.

?Prickly snouts Master, they have prickly snouts and they smell.?

He didn?t see the nobility of the majestic animals when they were cantering in that green meadow.

But he is my friend.?


30. Superficial

The burn on his hand was superficial and didn?t hurt like what he felt deep in his heart. ?The loss of two friends; Anakin and Padmé? He stroked it discussing the fate of the twins with Master Yoda and Bail Organa.

Bail Organa adopted Leia and Luke was to be taken to his family on Tatooine.
And when Yoda told him about the return of his master and the teachings he had for both Obi-Wan smiled.

The burn on his hand was superficial but the feeling in his heart was that of joy.

?I will be reunited with my master.?

 

Sniff, that was a very emotional up-date and the drabbles are brilliantly put, like pearls on a string. The big picture they all give is amazing, sweet bird.
