Summary: What If Obi-Wan learned how to change the past during his exile on the Tatooine? Will he sacrifice his own life to save others?

Ben Kenobi fell on his knees, feeling blind rage and hopelessness. He had not changed anything once again! Why he possessed such great powers, but could not alter anything, could not save anybody? It was like a cruel mockery!

?Obi-Wan, at least you have tried,? a gentle voice of Qui-Gon came from the Force.

But it was not enough. Not enough!

No, he would not give up, never. He should find other options. If the Force had showed him this path, so he had to do something about this and he would not rest until he carried out this will or simply die. He could possibly save thousands of innocent lives!

Obi-Wan Kenobi ruffled graying hair with his hand, knelt in meditation pose once again, and closed his eyes.

What else he could do? He had already ?removed? Anakin, Padme, Darth Maul, even himself. He had changed events from Naboo till Mustafar. He had tried to say the Council that Palpatine was another Sith, but nobody had believed him, soon Cos sent his best killers to eliminate Kenobi and he was murdered by them. He could never cancel the mission on Naboo with Qui-Gon, but he had done such that Ani had not left Tatooine with them. In that case a twisted will of the Force led Darth Maul or Sidious himself on this sand planet and one of them took Anakin. If the Zabrak had been killed on Naboo and Qui-Gon had survived, Jinn soon was dead by a stray shot or an accident. If Maul had killed Obi-Wan, before Master Jinn?s green lightsaber destroyed his chest, Qui-Gon took Anakin as his padawan, always remembering Kenobi, but a Jedi simply could not kill or even maim Ani on Mustafar, so he was murdered by his own former apprentice and unharmed Ani became Lord Vader. Obi-Wan also had forbidden Ani to visit chancellor Palpatine and was more strict with his Padawan, so after three years in the Temple, young Skywalker left the Order preferring to join the Chancellor in the young age. Anakin met Padme in any case, they married anyway. His tries to take Shmi from Tatooine had led to her unavoidable death on Coruscant?it was a robbery and she was shot or a drunken driver of speeder collided with her? When Obi-Wan ?removed? a former queen of Naboo, Anakin fell from grace after his mother?s death and without twines Luke and Leia there was no hope to stop the Sith.
But the Force definitely had planes for Obi-Wan. If it had showed that way, he must be able to do something about this. So, there was another option, a proper one. During his exile on the Tatooine Obi-Wan (not without Qui-Gon?s help) studied the ability to look through alternative events and was trying to change the past using the Force.

Suddenly, he realized it. What if he had never been Qui-Gon?s padawan? Nobody?s Padawan?

Many years ago the Council had sent him to the Agricorps, because nobody had wanted to take Obi-Wan as a Padawan.
Then, everything had started on Bandomeer.

Ben Kenobi closed his eyes and fell into the deep meditation.

The mines of Bandomeer. A shocked tall Knight was standing near the twelve years old boy, himself. He ran to ionite and stopped the explosion mechanism. The lives of thousands people were saved.

Here was the chance.

Qui-Gon was leaving the mine with big strides, young Obi-Wan was following him. Present Obi-Wan, having reached the Force, became material and caught his younger self by the collar. As had expected, Jinn did not notice the lagging boy.

Here was the point of no return. Obi-Wan dimmed the surprised boys cries with the Force and a hand over his mouth, and activated his lightsaber. After a moment he felt a dull pain in his own chest. Then he disappeared, leaving a cooling body behind. He was on Tatooine

 

Help! DarthCorsa had applied the evil secret Force technique of the remote tickling, there was such a torture in Medieval, you know, that?s why I was persuaded to publish tho collage she liked somehow. Also, I think she?s going to be the death of? (falling down from the chair).

Now that would have been a great way for the story to go!

No clone army, no war and Padme free to find a love that wouldn't kill her.

Of course, it wouldn't have been as exciting in the movies but that is what fan fic is for.
