Before - Legends A step to the left (for a Jedi) Qui-Gon Jinn meets two strange Jedi Masters again and a baby

Sixteen year old Qui-Gon Jinn sat at a terminal in the Jedi Archives pouring over holos of Ashlans.

Suddenly he stopped.

Staring at him was a woman with long silver hair done in a mass of braids, green eyes, a wide mouth surrounded by wide lips, a small nose and high cheekbones: the woman from Eras; the one that had saved him from the angry boy and had given him some advice.

She's no imprint and neither was the boy. So what are they.

?What are you studying today young one?? a woman's voice asked. ?The Ashlans.? Qui-Gon replied.

?The Ashlans were interesting people.? A man's voice said softly.

Qui-Gon turned to see a man and a woman standing together a short distance behind him.

The woman had blondish hair that was braided, blue eyes and perfect features. The man on the other hand wore his hood up, covering his hair and eyes. But what Qui-Gon could see of his face suggested that his features were perfect as well.

?Yes Master.? Qui-Gon said.

?Masters while I was on Eras I saw two Ashlans. One yelled at me while the other spoke softly and told me to do some research on the Whills.? He continued, hoping that they knew the answer.

The two Jedi were silent for a moment.

?What you saw were ghosts young one. You could say that they are trapped in this realm. Unable to fully join the Force.? The woman explained.

?Why are they trapped?? Qui-Gon asked, curious.

?Read the Journals of the Whills and you will understand one day.? The woman said.

?According to this the woman that spoke to me is Arda Stardust Whitesun. High Priestess of the Ashla/Bogden Order, the most powerful woman on Eras at the time of her death and that she has no surviving descendants.? Qui-Gon said, changing the subject.

The woman smiled.

?Never believe everything you read.? she said

?Why?? Qui-Gon asked.

?Because some things are based on a biased opinion and others are missing some facts.? The man said.

?Oh,? was all that Qui-Gon could say.

?But Arda Whitesun was the most powerful on Eras at the time of her death and she has no known living descendants.? The man continued.

Qui-Gon frowned. There was something in there that suggested that Arda Whitesun had living descendants.

?We must be going.

?Good luck with Master Dooku.? The woman said.

Qui-Gon watched as the two Master turned and walked away. Stepping in perfect unison.

A nice intriguing story. Will it continue?

 

I didn't plan on it when I posted but because you asked and the plot bunny didn't let go . . . let's just say there's a least one more post coming.

 

The years had slowly passed and Qui-Gon found himself being a mentor to a Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was seriously thinking about taking the boy on as his padawan.

He had read the Journals of the Whills and had been faithfully following what he found in them.

A sudden feeling of concern nearly overwhelmed him.

Qui-Gon turned around and headed to the source of the concern.

In an empty meditation room stood two familiar Jedi Masters. The woman was holding a bundle in her arms. A screaming bundle.

?It must have been that last disturbance.? The woman said.

?That line will pay for what they have done Ashla.? The man said.

?I don't care about ending that line! I just don't want something to happen at this point. We will have to start from scratch if he dies.? The woman, Ashla, hissed.

Qui-Gon cleared his throat and the two Masters looked up.

The woman held the bundle close to her, as if to protect it before relaxing.

?Qui-Gon? She said with a smile.

?What were you talking about?? He asked them, curious and wary. ?You wouldn't understand or believe us.? Ashla said.

?Do you want to hold him?? She asked, changing the subject.

Before he could say anything he found the bundle in his arms.

The bundle stopped it's screams.

Curious Qui-Gon looked down and discovered that the bundle was a baby

He found himself smiling

?Is he an orphan? The Jedi usually don't take infants.? Qui-Gon asked.

?He's Obi-Wan's future apprentice.? The man said, dodging the question.

Qui-Gon laughed so hard he nearly dropped the baby.

?Obi-Wan hasn't been made an apprentice yet. Besides there are many children; who says that Obi-Wan will pick him. And-?

Qui-Gon was cut off by a distraught cry from the baby.

Qui-Gon shifted the infant in his arms and gently bounced him up and down. It worked; the infant quieted.

Ashla's eyes looked sad.

?He likes you.? She said trying to smile.

Qui-Gon stared at the woman.

What does she know that I don't know?

They stood in silence for several minutes.

Footsteps caught Qui-Gon's attention and he turned to see Obi-Wan entering the room.

?Good morning Masters.? He said politely.

?Good morning young one.? Ashla said cheerfully.

Qui-Gon handed the infant over to the man who gave the child to Obi-Wan.

Qui-Gon couldn't help but smile at the sight of Obi-Wan holding the baby.

?What's his name?? Obi-Wan asked. Ashla smiled. ?His name means 'warrior'.? she answered.

?He doesn't look like a fighter.? Obi-Wan said skeptically.

The man smiled.

?He will be a great warrior. His enemies will fear him and his allies revere him. ? The man said.

?What's your name Master?? Obi-Wan asked, curious.

?Bogden, like the being the Miraluka worship.? The man, Bogden, replied.

Is he a Miraluka? It would explain the raised hood. Qui-Gon thought.

?Bogden is also the name the Ashlans used for the Dark Side of the Force.? Qui-Gon said without thinking.

Ashla stiffened.

?It's also the name of a planet.? Bogden countered, sounding miffed.

?It's almost time for your class.? Ashla said after some time had passed.

She walked over to Obi-Wan and carefully picked up the baby. The infant cried softly in protest.

?Thank you,?Obi-Wan said before he turned and left the room.

?Good day Master Jinn.? Ashla said and left the room with Bogden stepping in perfect unison.

How do they do that? Qui-Gon wondered curiously.

Sidious in disguise? And his lover?

A sharman or Exile.
A mystery.

 

*tries and fails to imagine Sidious with a lover.*

Sidious doesn't seem the type to take on a lover as his evil Sith self or as Palpatine

Here's a hint my friends: 'Bogden is also the name the Ashlans used for the Dark Side of the Force.' What it means is gooing to be revealed aoon.

Qui-Gon opened his eyes and discovered himself in a drastically different place from where he was when he had died.

?I did it!? He called loudly. ?I did it!?

Anakin Skywalker sat in his quarters in the Nubian Palace trying hard not to cry.

Suddenly the chime went off.

Anakin hurried over to the door and opened it. Thee door revealed two Jedi Masters, a male with a raised hood and a female with braided blond hair and blue eyes, he had never seen before.

?May we come in?? The pretty woman asked gently. Anakin nodded and stood aside.

The Jedi Masters glided in gracefully and they both took a seat by the window.

Anakin sat down across from them.

?Come closer little one, we don't bite.? The woman said.

Anakin hesitated before going over and sitting.

The female Jedi wrapped her arm around her.

?It's alright to miss people child. There are people that we miss every day.? The woman said.

?Who do you miss?? Anakin asked.

?Arda and Shang Whitesun, they were dear friends that perished many years ago. Alisha Fletch, sher was very brave. Qui-Gon, he was one of our favorite people and there are many others.? The woman said.

?Could you tell me about them?? Anakin asked.

The woman smiled.

?Another day little warrior.? the woman said. ?But we will sing to you.?

Anakin listened to several songs. Some in Basic some in foreign tongues. One language he recognized as the language his mother sometimes sang in.

He was barely aware of the woman picking him up and placing him in the bed.

?Good night precious.? She whispered.

Qui-Gon smiled at the scene.

Ashla and Bogden will help him adjust to the life of a Jedi.

?Excuse me.?

Qui-Gon turned at the sound of the female voice.

A falleen woman stood a short distance away.

?You have been summoned.? she said.

?Please follow me.? she said.

Qui-Gon followed the falleen through several rooms, or what appeared to be rooms.

Finally they came to a door and the falleen stood aside.

?They are waiting for you.? She said.

Qui-Gon hesitated before opening the door.

A strange being sat working on something.

Qui-Gon could feel time slowly slip by.

Suddenly the being stopped, set aside the object and looked at him.

?Welcome to our inner sanctum Master Jinn.? The being began. ?I am the Force.?

Qui-Gon gawked in disbelief.

?You're the Force?? He asked in a whisper.

The being nodded.

Qui-Gon fell to the floor.

?Get up, the floor's dirty. Besides if we wanted to be worshiped we would have told you years ago.? The Force said flatly.

Qui-Gon rose, embarrassed

?An Ashlan would only be caught lying on the floor dead.? The Force said. ?But the Jedi for some reason have a fascination with it.?

Qui-Gon almost blushed at the statement.

?There are other Jedi here?? he asked.

The Force nodded.

?The falleen that brought you to us was or is a Jedi. She was like you in life.?

?Is . . . .? Qui-Gon trailed off.

?Is what?? The Force asked.

?Is this your true form?? he asked, hoping that he wasn't being rude.

The Force cocked It's head to one side.

?I can take on any form I wish.? Padmé said, or the Force in her form did.

?It was a good question Qui-Gon. We will not punish you for asking logical questions.? The Force said, shrugging.

Qui-Gon laughed and then felt Obi-Wan's uncertainty.

?I hope that Obi-Wan thinks to call on other Masters for help. I'm sure that Masters Ashla and Bogden would be glad to help him.

?I feel sorry for them though. They said ten years ago that a baby was going to be Obi-Wan's future padawan but now he has Anakin.? Qui-Gon sighed. ?Well someone else will have to take him and-? Qui-Gon wa

The Force was practically gaping at him in Anakin's form.

?The truth about Ashla and Bogden.?

Qui-Gon shrugged.

?They are just two Jedi Masters that know the dead High Priest and Priestess of the Ashla/Bogden Order.? He said.

?You were the first Jedi Arda spoke to since her untimely death.? The Force said. ?On the other hand Arda and Shang speak to me. They ask for the return of their missing granddaughter and a young Priest.?

?Did the Sith take them?? He asked.

?Mikayla Moondancer and Anak Skywalker didn't die that day, Anak survived through trickery and Mikayla fell to what the Sith believed to be her death.? The Force said.

?Skywalker? Any relation to Anakin Skywalker?? Qui-Gon asked, curious.

?They are his ancestors.? The Force answered.

The Force twisted slightly and suddenly Ashla and Bogden sat before him.

?Did you know that they asked us to be the progenitors of the Chosen One?? Ashla asked. ?Why?? Qui-Gon asked.

Ashla gave him a look.

?The Sith destroyed their people, murdered their families. Wouldn't you be willing to do anything in their place?? Bogden asked.

Qui-Gon was silent. He didn't have anything to say.

?They also asked us to allow the destruction of the Jedi Order and Anak asked us to give the Republic to the Sith.?

Qui-Gon blanched.

?Don't worry, if it comes to the destruction of the Jedi Order there will be survivors; and if the Sith take control of the Republic then it will remind the people how precious freedom is.? Ash-no the Force said.

?So Anakin is the Chosen One.? Qui-Gon said with conviction.

The Force smiled as both Ashla and Bogden.

?Of course he is.? The Force as Ashla said. ?You wouldn't have met him if he wasn't the Chosen One.?

Qui-Gon nodded. It made sense.

?Have you figured out the truth about Ashla and Bogden?? The Force asked again as both Ashla and Bogden.

?They are Ghosts themselves.? Qui-Gon answered after thinking for several minutes.

The Force smiled.

?You could say that they are Ghosts but they are much more than Ghosts.? The Force as Ashla said.

With that the Force as Bogden lowered the hood and Qui-Gon gasped in shock and fear. Bright, poisonous yellow eyes stared at him.

?I represent the Darkness the resides in all Beings.? Bogden said. ?I am the Dark Side.?

?I represent the Light that inhabits all Beings.? Ashla said. ?I am the Light Side?

?Together we are the Force.? They said as one

Qui-Gon's jaw dropped.

?You mean that I spoke to you all those years ago??

Ashla's smile was all the confirmation he needed.

There was silence for several minutes before Ashla and Bogden stood.

Come, there's a lot you must see.? Ashla said.

Qui-Gon followed them as they began to walk deeper into the 'room'.

?One more thing. Once you get into contact with any Jedi you are not to tell them about us. Is that understood?? Bogden asked.

?I understand.? Qui-Gon said.
