It's equally sexist and racist. Aki dies horribly, but Bond doesn't care. "Aki you're dead! Oh look another girl. I like girls."
"Let's make bond look Asian. Nobody will get offended by that."
Sorry YOLT makes me very angry. Donald Pleasance is suitably creepy though.

I love that song. Although I dislike that the film cuts out the middle 8.

They wisely preserved it in SF, and a damn good thing too - best part of the song and the titles.

    1. Thunderball - Sir Tom Jones
    2. Goldeneye - Tina Turner
    3. Skyfall - Adele
    4. The World is Not Enough - Garbage
    5. A View to a Kill - Duran Duran.

Special mention to - Anything that Dame Shirley Bassey did, Matt Monroe's FRWL, Nobody Does it Better & Lulu's theme for TMWTGG (the only other good part of the move aisde from Sir Chris & The gun itself).

Also - Skyfall is now the highest-grossing movie in UK Box Office History, taking £94,277,612 in just 40 days. Compare that with the previous record holder, Avatar, which reached £94,025,632 in 11months.

I think that there’s a reeeeeally fine difference between a Bond piece sounding “classic” and sounding “dated.” I thought that Die Another Day and Living Daylights sound dated, and there’s some dated-sounding 80’s R&B keyboard stuff that knocked Gladys Knight’s otherwise-amazing License to Kill just out of my personal Top 5. Meanwhile, Goldfinger and Skyfall have a certain timeless quality about them, and the soaring strings of You Only Live Twice are just amazing.

As far as whichever one that Sheryl Crow sang…ugh. I enjoy Biggest Mistake and All I Wanna Do, but her voice was just not up to the task of singing a Bond theme; it just came off as whiny.

The k.d. lang track "Surrender" is much better.

What sells "Licence to Kill" is the slam to the title sequence. Cuts out the opening from the album verison. I like when they used to do that, with no real transition. I think that's the last time it happened, as well.

Wow, looks like I'm totally out of left field again.
To me, "For Your Eyes Only" is not only one of the best songs, but one of the few that can stand on its own, without being "just a bond theme".
Losing Shirley Bassey was a major setback for the franchise.
    LaLD was pretty awful.
FRwL does have a certain nostalgic timelessness to it.

Ok, finally saw this. Made me squee inside many times. But, I'm really, really going to miss Dame Judi.
