Amph 007 Skyfall

It's pretty old-school, I like it. Not the best but hardly the worst one they've done

 

Definitely hearkens back to Shirley Bassey. Adele's voice doesn't sound like its quite fit, though.

 

Don't like Daniel Craig as Bond at all. Not handsome enough. Did not like QofS. Casino Royale was a bit better. I'll watch this one when it's on HBO.

 

I wish they hadn't cut Bassey's song from Quantum of Solace.

Rachel Weisz seems to think he is. She's married to him. Can't picture them as a couple, tho.

 

Roger Moore was too camp and not tough enough to be Bond, but he worked well enough. Lazenby looked like a waxwork

Being suave and somewhat witty is important, but being gritty and tough is more important. Moore was too much of the former, Dalton was too much of the latter & neither had enough of both

 

Heard the full song on the radio this morning. I like it, but it almost sounds too Shirley Bassey-esque. And Adele's voice definitely losing range, it cracks on every high note. which, sadly, is pretty much the whole refrain.

This doesn't mean we'll be getting a lot of "references" to all the previous films again, does it?

 

Can't stand Adele, hate the song and I'm giving serious thought to waiting for it to come out on Blu-Ray. Or I may just go and have a pee during the opening titles.

 

It would be cool to see past relics like Oddjob's Hat or the Thunderball Jetpack. Even if they had a band randomly play the Goldfinger Theme during the movie as Bond went past it would hardly ruin it.

You never know, Sir Roger Moore might even have a cameo.

 

Perhaps they could have the fat American sheriff from Live and Let Die drive past in the invisible Aston Martin from Die Another Day whilst chasing Sean Connery's toupée from Diamonds are Forever! I know they could make it seem classy and unforced.
