The Dead Alewives did "Dungeons & Dragons II" in the studio of The Dr. Demento Show in 1997. I have that Dr. D episode on tape. I also have their 1996 CD "Take Down the Grand Master," which looking at their website, appears to be out-of-print now. "Mama Rap" is especially funny.

So, we are meeting at BDZ's house at 5:30pm this Friday. We will play Star Wars Monopoly and some other card games. Everybody cool with that?

    Laundry day? Well, all riiiiight!!!!!!!!!

    LAUNDRY DAY
    by "Weird Al" Yankovic
(parody of "Come Out And Play" by Offspring)

    Gotta keep 'em separated!

    You like the latest fashions.
You like to keep 'em clean.
You take a trip every week to the laundromat
Throw a load in the washing machine.
Now if you don't wanna ruin your clothes,
You gotta sort 'em out first, as anyone knows.
Remember bright colors and the others don't mix.
Before you wash 'em up, wash 'em up, wash 'em up, wash 'em up

Hey! Are your undies turnin' pink?
Take 'em out. (Gotta keep 'em separated!)
Hey! Are your cottons gonna shrink?
Sort 'em out. (Gotta keep 'em separated!)

    Hey! And when it's time,
You can stick 'em in the dryer, you can hang 'em on the line.
    Hey! It's laundry day!

Kinda short on the cash front (ever since I gave out that $30 to the Survivor winner) Maybe we could rent a DVD again, or watch one in your collection?

Maybe I can get one of my friends to loan me a PS2 for the weekend and then we could play Starfighter. Don't know though. It looks like I would be able to get it but only the Force knows if I actually will.

WHAT? Why are you going to see the movie on Friday? Can you wait until Saturday? Does this help your descision:

ILM's Effects in The Mummy Returns
    Wed, May 02, 01 12:17:10 PM EDT

Before getting heavy into the effects of Episode II, ILM has been working on such films as The Mummy Returns. I (Scott) got to see the film last night. I was sure to keep an eye on the effects to see how ILM performed. While the movie was fun and the effects were entertaining, I was rather unimpressed with what ILM did. For example, towards the end of the film we see The Scorpion King played by The Rock. He's part man and part monster. However, they computer animated Rock's face and it looked very fake. Even friends with me who didn't care about special effects remarked that it looked bad. Other scenes looked rather cartoony including a wall of water, swarming beetles, and a magical oasis. It was hard to believe this was from the same group that did Episode I.
There were a few effects that they did really well. There were some battles with thousands of computer generated extras that looked great. It will remind you of the Gungan/Battledroid battle in Episode I, except the CG Anubis warriors looked a bit stiff in my opinion. There were also some impressive Mummy Warriors during a bus chase in London.

The Mummy Returns is a fun popcorn flick that will entertain you, but it's not a showcase of ILM's best work.

You got a good iron, Femme? I need a good iron to do some ironing. Not one of them cheapo $10 ones. Should I just bring mine?

But I have a ton of laundry to wash. You wash & dry and I'll iron, fold and put away. Deal?

Oh crap.....how domestic do I sound now? :)
