Why do most track and field athletes look like they're about to go to some sort of party or something? Hair all down and in the face, wacky glasses in funky colors, and bling all around their necks? Is fashion a part of the contest? Wouldn't that stuff slow you down a little bit?

It's a little silly.

 

Is it safe to say that unless the US Men's Basketball team loses their next two matches, Tyson Gay is the disappointment of the Olympics?

 

Hadn't the US softball team never lost before today? That might be the biggest upset in olympic history...

 

At least they medaled! Tyson Gay couldn't make a single final.

 

That game was an upset, sure, but they're not a disappointment. They're actually going to come home with something.

 

Also, Hope Solo is playing out of her mind today.

Australia lost the men's hockey semis....what looked to be a good chance for a gold falls short again.

bad news for the chinese, documents have been found by the olympics boards about he kexin actually being 14. it's not being investigated. i'm a bit mixed on this one, on the one hand you have china cheating which definitely needs to be punished... on the other i feel really bad for the girls who could have their medals taken away. looks like a waiting game now.

The US relays teams seemed very...scattered.

 

Well, any investigation will likely be AFTER the Olympics are over and China is no longer the host country. So we'll see.

 

no, that's not the case rogue... it's currently happening RIGHT NOW. they reported it just a little bit ago, and said that they were conducting an immediate investigation.

That USA-Russia match was epic in the extreme.

Oh and all those docs about the ages of Ke Hexin are old, they were known before the Olympics.

 

It's not exactly hard to get a false passport.

 

What I read was that the "investigation" being done by the IOC was that they were going to ask the international governing body of the sport to investigate. Which will, of course, drag it out a bit.



I'd also like to say that seeing Lithuania in the Olympic semifinals makes me a little sad for Big Z. I understand why the Cavs wouldn't let him play, and I agree with the call because it's best for the Cavs, but it makes me a little sad for Big Z.

 

Especially, when, you know, you make the official ones.

Though really there's no way to prove anything. If they've falsified every official document there is...what can you do?
