Australia women's basketball uniforms are el-oh-el. It took a whole quarter for me to determine they were a single piece.

Australia is bricking this. Dammit. Destined to never beat the USA.

At least we annihilated Netherlands in the hockey.

USA women's basketball has done it again. What a record for them. Lisa Leslie finishes her career with four consecutive gold medals and a win streak of 32-0 in Olympic play. Simply amazing. Those women play with such heart and with such a selfless attitude that it's really no wonder that they dominate like they do.

    Men's basketball? You paying attention?!

lolz @ rhythmic gymnastics... not really sure where hula hoop dancing became an Olympic sport, but I suppose they're talented enough. It's like watching contortionists on a sugar rush.

They've had a lot of very successful exports to other countries. Donovan Bailey, for example.

    And Ben Johnson...

But I'd wager that the U.S. athletes are just as or more likely to be doping.

no, not in the least. jaimaca has always had extremely fast sprinters. so has trinidad and tobago(SP?), it's one of the few things that they can focus on because it costs so little compared to most other sports. so if you have a whole country that effectively focuses on that then you're going to produce not only some of the best trained sprinters, but also many of the most talented as well.

i'll be here for the men's ball game. been looking forward to it.

In one of the woman's races--the 1500--no less than 3 Russians were bounced for doping.

I'll be here, jinxing the team with my preemptive "are they better than '92" talk. :p

Oh, and I seriously think they need to add a 4 x Marathon relay to the Olympics.

    four times through 22 miles?

    4x26 miles, even worse :p

Well, I did get a bit of rest earlier, so I'll be up for the O'dark thirty basketball game. Hopefully my laptop will decide to accept internet tonight, or I won't be doing much posting unless I want to keep running between rooms.

I'm trying to stay up for the basketball game, but I don't think I can stay up. My eyes are already drooping and it's still like an hour away! I-)

it'll be 230 here when the game starts. So probably 430 by the time its over. Hence why I got a bit of sleep earlier.

And along the same lines as the 4xMarathon (104 miles... dang), you could add a 4x15km swimming event too. Not quite as long, but still long enough.

ick for lateness. and it's gonna be starting in about thirty minutes now. yay.

*blinks* to think that 104 miles could actually be RUN in a day, even if by four people, is amazing. that used to be farther than people could travel in a day.

on a different note, anyone looking forward to the men's indoor volleyball match? that should be a good one.
