Kind of cool to include Obi-Wan vs Jango. Does anybody think any TCW duels should be on the list?

As much as I dislike TCW though, I must admit that Maul and whoever the other guy is vs. Palpatine is pretty entertaining to watch

 

Aside from Palpatine vs the Maul brothers, Pong Krell vs the clone troopers was a standout.

 

I love this fight. It's a prequel highlight for me.

 

Agreed, we don't get anything else like it.

Seagoat I think you'd have to be a pretty rabid TCW hater to not admit that that fight is entertaining. I'm just curious if anybody thinks those fights stand out enough to actually be a top 10.

Orman Tagge the duels in TCW are generally pretty fun to watch. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure, I admit xD

 

I'm surprised they didn't include the TCW.

Maul+Savage v Sidious was the best lightsaber duel ever in Star Wars.

 

For my money the visual juxtaposition of Yoda vs Sidious and the destruction of the Senate (the destruction of democracy) and Obi-Wan vs Anakin in the fires of Mustafar (a descent into Hell) is so powerful and imaginative that nothing can top it.

 

I didn't enjoy that fight much at all. I think it had a lot more potential than it achieved, a large part to just the way it was shot. Really, I didn't like how any of the fights in AotC were shot.

Most of these fights involve Obi-Wan, and half of them are from ROTS. But, there are so many well-paced fights in ROTS that I had to include most of them!

The only conflict I had was deciding which duel between Luke and Vader was better. I sided with ROTJ. Even though it's less iconic, it's much more emotional (for me).

The Yoda Vs. Sidious duel is amazing -- I love the buildup but it's way too short, we should've seen more of it. It's probably my favorite duel out of the entire saga.

Its easier to say which is your least favorite which for me is Obi-Wan vs Grevious

 

1. Luke vs Vader ROTJ-(this and the space battle are basically the best parts of the movie and this fight was done well and the emotion is off the scale)
2. Anakin vs Obi-wan-ROTS, this used to be my number 1 but rewatching now the emotional content just does not connect as well as the ROTJ fight and there is the one iffy part where they just twirl their lightsabers at each other.
3. Obi and Qui-gon vs Maul-tpm, this is the best choreographed fight in the films, it helps that there is a real martial artist in this fight(Ray Park). But there is no emotional conflict in this fight.
4. Vader vs Luke ESB- this is a very good fight with Bob Anderson really Standing out during the sequence where he fights with only one hand on the lightsaber.
5. Anakin and Obi-wan vs Dooku-ROTS
6. Obi-wan vs Vader-ANH, this one gets alot of crap but to be fair it is actually a very kendo style fight
7. Anakin and Obi-wan vs Dooku AOTC
8.Mace vs Sidious- George deciding to do most of the fight in close up with Ian was a mistake, Ian did not have the training that Jackson, Christensen, and Mcgregor had and it shows.
9.Mace vs Jango
10. Qui-gon vs Maul on Tattoine in TPM-way too short
