Yes folks, that title is no lie. QBD at the Myer Centre are selling two formerly-expensive Clone Wars hardcover novels (Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover and The Cestus Deception by Stephen Barnes) for $10 each.

I have already said this several times on these boards, and at the risk of sounding repetetive:
Fans of Star Wars and good storytelling owe it to themselves to read Shatterpoint.
It doesn't matter where you stand on the Expanded Universe - this is an exceptionally well written book in its own right. Matthew Stover, who also wrote the Revenge of the Sith novelisation, nails the darker, psychologically heavier side of the universe. (And I do mean darker. This is essentially Apocolypse Now with Mace Windu, with almost nothing toned down for younger readers.) BigBossNass (the Voice Of Reason in our Abbott & Costello comedy duo) will hopefully back me up on this so I don't look like a rambling lunatic.

The Cestus Deception is also a solid read, if you have a bit more money to burn.

The same store is also selling the Celene Dion / Anne Geddes collaboration "Miracle: A Celebration of New Life", featuring a heavy coffe table hardcover book, a CD full on Celene's heavenly vocals, and a limited edition DVD detailing the making of this unprecedented product! Once $90, this questionable extra-soppy package masquerading as an artistic multimedia project can be YOURS for only $20! Secure your copy today... I know I have! (But only to annoy a friend.)

    I digress. Shatterpoint. Ten dollars!
And even if you despise the story, hey, the cover is great and it will look fetching on your shelf. It practically pays for itself!

Al, I owe you one, man. I went into town today, hit the casino, and to cut a long story short, I ended up getting Shatterpoint, The Cestus Deception, six dvds and a couple of cds for the cost of a bus ticket to town and 45 minutes visiting the Dark Side. I wouldn't have gone if I didn't know about the book clearance. :D

    Haha, that's great!
There you go, folks - Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover will make you rich! Embrace capitalism today and give it a read!

    Word.

And I'm most flattered you consider us a duo. That's very sweet of you.

And ahha, nice work there, Cargin. ;)
