The bombs went off. Much too early and it wasn't Zayl that detonated them. Another presence had reached out, seizing his shadow bombs, and before he could do anything about it the presence squeezed and detonated his improvised mines.

Sith, Zayl concluded, and was unhappy with what the explosives showed him. They were old like his StealthX because their manufacturers - Sienar - had built them to compete with Incom's stealth fighter. They were modeled after the signature TIE design - and, to be more specific, the TIE Bomber - and it took Zayl a moment to realize that these were Blurs. The bombs and now these fighters...it wasn't hard to figure out who would be piloting them.

The explosions revealed the fighters but as soon as it died down they vanished. And then started shooting. Zayl immediately pulled on his flight stick, weaving and spinning his fighter around to try to avoid them. Unfortunately, unlike Rem, Zayl didn't realize what was really going on until turbolasers started flashing all around him.

The fighters had centered them into the VSD's field of fire! Zayl immediately changed course to try and avoid this new threat-

-voices, trillions of them, suddenly screamed-

-and then Zayl was slammed against his restraints as his StealthX started spinning.

Too many things were going on here.

As he struggled to get his StealthX under control he heard Rem's voice, asking for him to report. Straightening out his fighter, Zayl was able to finally get a bearing on his surroundings and see that the reason for his spin was that the VSD or something had managed to hit him; an S-Foil was gone. Otherwise, he reported, "Unharmed."

"I'm moving on the convoy while we still have the chance! Do whatever you can, Zayl! We need to get back and find out what the hell is going on!"

They were severely outmatched and retreat was probably the best option - he, like Rem, really wanted to know what was going on - but they still had a job to do. The thought pf making a jump came to mind but Zayl pushed the suggestion to the side. A jump they would do...after he helped Rem. He wasn't going to leave his comrade by himself. As Rem moved on to the convoy, Zayl reached out to the Force and then closed it around him, trying to hide from the Siths' senses while he pulled away in a separate direction from Rem.

Hopefully, with Rem heading for the convoy, attention would be focused on him, allowing not only Zayl to try and cloak himself from the Sith but his StealthX's systems could try and hide him from his enemies' sensors. When they tried to gun for Rem to stop him, he would come up behind them and hopefully shoot down a couple. He may try to have his own bombing run on the convoy but that would be if time allowed it; they really needed to get out of here.

Bothans, she hated the species in genral, but that Admiral she hated the most right now. He was too stupid to be flying anything but a waste freighter. Since it would be a few hours her com said, she took a nap. Darkness surrounded her, as she ran the last few yards too the door. Dark Sun studied the door for any more traps and there were none. She had spent the last few hours taking her time since the first trap almost took her feet with it. Dark Sun laid her bag down, a bag she carried ever since. Its compact size held almost everything she ever needed on a mission, but her weapons, that she carried always. She reached out to the door and....She woke up to a beeping sound.

Dark Sun streched as best that she could and looked at the read outs on her scanners. Then realized it was another beeping sound, it was a comm from another sith. She let her fingers do the walking and pressed several buttons to turn off her active scanners and pressed a preprogrammed reply. "You never know who it really is," she thought. Two beeps and a ping went out to the sender, it would show, "I am here travel agent, where am I." When it was decoded in a sith computer, "I am here, where are we headed too?"

    Mikaru Tower, Coruscant

Bacora Sel stared into the gathered weapons, as to did the surrounding blockade of GA soldiers. If it came to a fight, both sides would suffer sharply, and Sel would have little else to achieve here. The little hologram spoke as the two women approached - hard women, dangerous women. ?These two women, are my personal guard. They will escort you, and you alone to meet me to discuss this transgression against our clan and organization, as well as this, pretender Darth Mikaru. I would however not suggest any of your armed friends attempt to follow, I would rather not have blood on my hands.?

Sel narrowed his eyes. The organisation claimed to not be affiliated with the Dominion - but instead these other Sith? Sel held out his hand to the GA commanding officer, a Gran whose helmet didn't quite fit his head, and he handed over the datapad containing the warrant for the organisations arrest and investigation, as well as to search the premises and its computers.

The hologram, however, rudely cut-out. Sel concluded it was best for him to present the warrant in person. He leaned over to the Gran, using the Force to ensure his voice didn't reach the ears of the Echani, nor anyone else. "Keep the Alliance picket Deception in firing range of their shipyards, and request it keep a turbolaser painted on the tower, but don't target it yet. There is clearly some kind of criminal element here, if not for the amount of guns they're even now pointing at us."

"Yes, sir." The Gran spoke up, and still Sel could not recall his name. "I have to inform you, sir, that the Senate have been gassed - we're on our own. It's martial law, henceforth. You don't need that warrant."

Sel bristled, keeping his voice available for the Echani to hear. "I don't need a warrant, Captain. But I have one because it's the right thing to do." Sel deactivated his blade, and turned to the Echani, hilt and pad in hand. "Take me to your Sovereign."

    Skirmish of Senex

The StealthX design was a marvel; it recovered from the loss of the s-foil and concealed Zayl - the Force adding to that. Rem, for his part, flew towards the Dreadnaught and fired everything he had; six of his torpedoes he threw out as basic weapons, and two he hurled with the Force, the action quaking across the system, picked up in the myriad ripples from the Sith Temple on Senex, the devastation roaming through the galaxy, and from the Sith using the Force even now to reach out and stop his attack.

Rem pressed into the Force, sweat creasing his brow, wrestling with the Sith on the Dreadnaught - and the mass of explosions on the Dreadnaught shields told him he was successful - but the Sith had focused the shields in that direction, and the capital ship survived unscathed. Rem had expected as much.

He pinwheeled around to the aft of the Dreadnaught, avoiding anti-starfighter fire and the Blurs and other fighters that were even now closing on him - passing Zayls position entirely - and popping off fire at the engines. The shields shimmered into place, and tRem grinned, pushing his StealthX to maximum speed and dropping his last shadow bomb - into the bridge.

The Dreadnaught listed towards the planet, as did the rest of the conovy - the Sith had slaved them to the cruiser! Rem could only watch, mildly satisfied as the entire collection of freighters and the Dreadnaught fell towards Senex. Some of the freighters shot off into hyperspace at random junctures - the crippled mass of the slave net firing off like neurons in a damaged brain - but the majority simply fell into orbit. The Sith Temple began firing planetary weapons - but something would undoubtedly get through.

Rem twirled away from the dying mass, and realised, through the Force trance, he'd taken several more hits. Two s-foils were missing, and his hyperdrive was damaged. It wouldn't get him

It seemed that - despite losing an S-Foil - the StealthX and thus Zayl had been able to vanish which was the only luck that the Knight has managed to have throughout this whole adventure. Peeling away from Rem, allowing the enemy fighters to pass him and focus on the other Knights, Zayl whirled the StealthX back around to continue after the convoy and give Rem that cover.

He wondered if Rem would even need help truth be told. As Zayl watched, not only did he manage to make out Rem flying around, weaving and dodging, through a storm of laserfire, but he saw the other man still manage to take out that Dreadnaught single-handedly. And killing off that capital ship caused a chain reaction throughout the convoy, transport ships stopping, jumping, or just falling into Senex's atmosphere to crash down upon the surface. The transports must've been slaved to the Dreadnaught. Had Rem known that or had that just been a lucky break for-

"Now would be a good time for you to do something, Zayl."

Despite the amazing feats that he had just witnessed, Zayl was now able to see that Rem would indeed need help. Taking this chance, the Knight put the acceleration of his fighter to full, armed his bombs and lasers, and fired. The red lasers raced forth to strike at their targets and behind them the shadow bombs flew forward. No stealth this time, he just sent those bombs out as fast as they could towards the enemy fighter formation and detonate them just as quickly so a repeat of before won't happen.

    IC: Darth Insipid
    Bothan space

His freighter finally decanted over Bothawui, and Darth Insipid took in the sight of what he had gathered as 'Darth Mikaru'. That deception wouldn't last long - it wasn't designed to, really. It had been simply created to help push the Alliance and the Jedi into assaulting Korriban, and destroying the One Sith. Clearly, it hadn't managed even that much. So, he expected that the trick - and his connection to Darth Tenoc and Darth Lolarus - would be revealed sooner rather than later.

That meant he'd been forced to forgo the strike on Nal Hutta and the destruction of Darth Atavus' criminal network, and to ignore the gathering Tof fleet in the Unknown Regions entirely. Instead, he had to bring this farce to end with as much damage control as possible. And so he had to take the majority of the Bothan fleet - a hundred Bothan Assault Cruisers out of the hundred and twenty at the Bothan Council's command - to his third target.

In theory, this little Cold War should have finished off Krayt, Atavus and Yu'Dor, the Yuuzhan Vong Sith concealed in the Unknown Regions, but now he simply had to go for an attempt on the Remsian Republic without any back-up. Well, beyond the other innumerable back-ups concealed throughout the Unknown Regions and Outer Rim.

Darth Insipid wasn't particularly irritated by that. It was time. Something he now had plenty of.

With a nod, Darth Insipid checked his make-up one more time - a hologrammic would be noticed and detected - and rolled his shoulders, taking any lingering tension from his body. Hailing the flagship, the Ralroost, the Lord of Betrayal spoke clearly. "I have arrived, my friends. I bring with me the information you require."

"Oh?" said the Bothan Council, sitting down safe on Korriban, joined by the holograms of the numerous Admirals and Generals of the Bothan Navy. Distrust shone in the eyes of many of them, but it was just as equally directed at the others. Bothawui had been spared the strikes of Lolarus because Insipid could not estimate how the Bothans would respond, but they were still difficult to anticipate and control.

No matter. He didn't need to.

All he needed to do was direct their distrust.

In less than an hour, the Bothan armada, equipped to the limits with A-11 Vigilances and soldiers from around Bothan Space, left Bothawui, willingly.

En route for the Mobus system. Darth Insipid was aboard a cruiser near the rear - the Venturer. No way he was going to be on the frontline.

    ---

The Bothan Fleet decanted over the Mobus system, and Darth Insipid smiled at the Bothan Admiral, Bao, who was looking at Darth Insipid and bearing his fangs in what was a challenging grin. "Well, where is it, Darth Mikaru?"

Darth Insipid held out a datapad, handing it over. "You surely anticipated it would have moved, no? The Yuuzhan Vong would hardly have kept their most powerful weapon in the same place, no? They brought down the galaxy seventy years ago. Recall, Nas Choka will have learned from his mistakes, and spent seven decades recovering."

Bao simply scowled, not taking the pad, and stressing each word individually. "Where is it."

"Coordinates are on the datapad. Simply plug it in, and you'll see." Reaching into the Force, Insipid pushed Bao to agree, leaning on the Bothans paranoia.

Bao snatched the pad from his hand, and Insipid turned back to the viewport. He mentally checked the location of his equipment. A Holocron carrying what he'd need for the Gen'Dai, and then he could deal with this 'Dade' himself. That shouldn't be too difficult, he expected. Darth Insipid slyly looked from the corner of his eye as Bao placed the datapad in the port. Insipid amused himself at that.

The location of the Remsian Republic was being merrily downloaded into the computer system, and a program piggybacked along it into the system. Insipid wondered how the defenses of the system would have increased over the decades. He idly acknowledged Vincent Mi

    Derak-class Prowler: Avril (Stealthed)

The time had come, Commander Zheng watched the mass of A-11 interceptors drop out of hyperspace right between the mines. Doubtlessly the ships would appear on the scanners of the other ships in the area and their defensive systems would kick in. Tributing to that fact was the sudden energy spike from the direction of the other ships. Most clearly the Dark Secret, and the Hrist.

Zheng's thumb was poised over the detonation trigger on his command chair. A button unique to the Prowler command chairs. But something kept him from pressing it. ?Just a moment more.? He expected a mothership, or two, not what he got. One hundred Bothan Assault Cruisers decanted in the midst of the minefield, far two many to disable, but far to many to not have some get hit. Ignoring his shock for a moment he pressed the detonation button

There was a series of bright flashes, 18 flashes. Spheres of expanding ion and electromagnetic energy erupting in the midst of the countless ships brought to bear down on the Remsian Republic. A trap had been set to catch a single man, it was tripped by countless hundreds. However only half of the Avril's mission was completed, now it had to deliver a message. The prowler tilted on its axis, flipping end over end, and slingshoted into hyperspace, towards Remsi Prime.

    Templar-class Star Destroyer: Dark Secret,
    Fleet Captain Darkholm

Darkholm watched as the fighters decanted, but stayed the order to attack. He knew the Prowler would set off mines first. Launching any missiles would be lost regardless of what kind of mines were detonated, any other fire would just serve to scatter the targets and likely lessen the effectiveness of the mines. So Darkholm waited. And then the Avengeance Incident happened again, and again, and again, one hundred times the Avengeance, ships of her class winked into existence along the exit of the corridor.

?By Harmony...? someone said, he wasn't quite sure which of his bridge crew it was, and frankly he didn't blame them. Eighteen flashes registered on the ships sensors. Part of Darkholm had wished they were NOVA mines, but sadly, unfortunately, they were EMPIONs. The sensors didn't pick up which or how many ships were disabled if any, but it didn't matter.

    ?All Ships open fire!?

Across the hull of the Dark Secret weapons ports opened, 10 Dual Turbolasers lifted out of their armored ports, accompanied by the ten turbolaser blisters, akin to those of the old Dreadnaught class, they opened fire. Thirty of the ships Laser cannons, the ships only six ion cannons, and forty of the sixty warhead launchers all fired volley after volley. Had the Dark Secret been armed with NOVA missiles the barrage would have been truly devastating, but with only concussion missiles, it was not the knock out punch needed against a Fleet this size. No, none of the ships combined were that, but they had to do what damage they could.

    Aesir-class Destroyer: Hrist,

Captain Narrna obeyed the fleet captains orders to a tee. The Hrist 4 main turbolasers pivoted to a single target, and the additional 20 laser cannons raised out of their ports and took aim. And much like the Dark Secret the Hrist only carried concussion missiles, and only 6 of them could target front, but, Narrna turned the weakness into an advantage by having the ship target only a single cruiser.

Baldr-class Cruisers: Sword of Shadows and Guardian of Night,
Leviathan-class Assault Ship: Forge of Stars,
    Oden-class Corvette: Storm Hammer,

The Sword of Shadows, Guardian of Light, Forge of Stars and Storm Hammer all opened fire on a single target. The 4 ships targeting one to maximize the effectiveness of their weapons. More than two dozen weapons bombarded the Bothan cruiser nearest

Aboard the Venturer, Battle of Remsi

And so it had begun. Darth Insipid watched the screens as the fighter craft decanted, dispatching data to the fleet a moment before they themselves jumped forward, Admiral Bao automating shields to raise the moment they emerged from hyperspace in response to the minor task force detected there. This gave the five Bothan fleets a chance to defend itself. While the Champion and Harbinger were worn down by the approaching task forces, the Empion mines generally knocked out a swathe of the fighter craft and then three cruisers - which would have be remarkably worse had the fighter craft not been launched first.

The front fifteen Bothan assault cruisers - all that was left of the First Fleet after the arrival mess - launched twenty proton torpedoes in a moment, and much of the enemy task force was transformed into shrapnel. Insipid did note, however, that an enemy Prowler was making its way away from the system. Evidently, the Templars had been busy since the end of 40 ABY.

    So some bad, some good.

And not for the obvious reasons.

Darth Insipid wasn't actually watching the First Fleet. His focus was elsewhere. As Darth Insipid watched, the smooth-rounded ship tentatively identified as the Dark Secret soar over the task force, raining destruction down on the other four fleets. Little of it caused issue, but Insipid acknowledged it was largely a distraction act - escape pods, launches and shuttles were pouring out of the warship, and after they were clear, the Secret began methodically piercing the shields of cruisers, two or three at a time - evidently it had issues with its ordnance, which weren't exploding upon impact. The Venturer shook, and Insipid grimaced. Clearly someone had remembered the propensity of the great Bwua'ta to lead from the rear of the task force.

It had hit four cruisers, including the Venturer, before it was promptly blown from the shy, a massive explosion consuming the port side of the ship and sending it tumbling away. The rest of the enemy task force promptly died, the Ralroost exploding in the last moments of the conflict. Insipid resisted the urge to smile at that, and unbuckled himself as he eyed one of those 'unexploded ordnances' making its way for the hangar bay, in an angle quite unnatural for a missile. He remembered to leave behind the Holocron, just in-case.

Insipid strode from his freighter, and the Bothans, still equipped with flechette rifles and concussion rifles, and armoured and shielded to the hilt, pointed them at the Lord of Betrayal. He smiled candidly. "We have visitors... I'd warn Bao, if I was you."

The Bothans eyed each other, and one raised a comlink. Insipid, for his part, mentally checked his weapons. One up either sleeve, one in his hand, one wrapped around his wrist. With a nod, Insipid unhooked his lightwhip from his hand, and triggered it the moment the chip-shaped SOAIV crashed into the deck. He launched forward as it burst open.

    --

Vii Norra leaped from the lander as the Force sung with the death of the Dark Secret. It stunned her for barely a moment, but the multiple snap-hiss of the lightwhip woke her. She used the Force to burst the SOAIV, and leaped out. The lightwhip shredded the combat couch that had protected her, and then ripped free. Vii cartwheeled, using the Force to carry her and expand her senses. Flechette shots soared in at her, and then she saw him. Her confusion at seeing him doled up like an Echani held for only a moment, her hand reaching to deflect the razor-sharp flechette chips. The other Bothan, holding a cone-shaped rifle, fired, the concussion of the shot hitting the ground sending the Wind Sage flying. A quick telekinetic manipulation righted her, but then he and the lightwhip was all over her, her single lightsaber having difficulty fending off so many strands and distractions. A metal strand cut her arm, and a leather one whipped her on

    Temple of Twilight Meditation Chambers

The force swirled around the small, sparsely furnished room. A single meditation mat sat in the middle with a small tea table sitting next to it. A cup of steaming tea sat upon the table, with a still burning cigara sitting in an ashtray beside it. A robed figure meditated upon the mat, his body floating a few inches above the ground with the assistance of the force. Dade Leviathan, Kage of the Templars of Twilight, was meditating and he was concentrating hard, as he always did. The force wrapped him in a warm blanket and he was able to see for miles, figuratively.

To an average force user, it might look like Dade was using battle meditation. This was not the case, but it nonetheless would be confusing. No, the force was not helping Dade to win the battle that he could feel the rippled of from far away (not that such a thing would even be possible). No, the force was helping the Kage listen to the signs. In his minds, puzzle pieces and thoughts clicked into place. To say that he had forseen these events would be a lie. To say that he expected them, however, would be a truth. True victory did not come from battles. It came from preparation. Dade knew this, and he assumed that the force behind the battle knew this as well. In fact, he knew who led the battle. At least he assumed heavily that he did. He had no proof yet, but he could only think of one person who would be daring enough to launch such an attack. And it had been one he had been expecting ever since Vincent had returned: Darth Insipid, or as he was calling himself now: Darth Mikaru.

To win true battles, to win utterly without thinking about the past or present but how the future would be took careful planning, and it took patience. Dade was old. Dade was very old, and he had learned long ago how to wait. Dade knew that his true strength came not in his force abilities, even though they were great. No, his true strength came in knowing when to act and when to do nothing and simply listen. He did not mire himself in silly ideas that one defeat was the end. Just because one lost a battle, even a whole war, did not mean that they were truly defeated. No, he knew that if planned properly, they would win the true battle before it had even begun. And Dade was confident that he had done just that.

Greyst, the immense Gen'dai templar had been given temporary command of the ground forces upon Sekot. He was the obvious threat, and Dade knew that Insipid would want to eliminate him. Dade knew that unless Insipid had somehow learned how to put a sun in his pocket, there was little he could do to truly destroy Greyst. Even if he did, he knew that Greyst would go to his death willingly if it would further the protection of the templars. But that was not it. He had sent a large group of Fire warriors, the most elite ones in fact, to accompany Greyst. Not only that, but they went dressed as Soldiers, their lightsabers hidden in simple compartments in their armor. If someone did try to attack greyst and the platoon he commanded, they would find that they were suddenly facing not one great Gen'dai, but also a whole group of nearly 10 highly trained Fire Warriors as well. Yes, Dade was certain that Greyst was not only the visible and most noticible target, but he was also safe. At least as safe as he could be without locking him in a giant lightsaber-proof box.

But Dade knew that he would be the real target if Insipid wished to truly strike a blow at the templars and make a serious wound. No matter what Insipid did, if Dade did not fall, the Templars would not surrender and they would most likely win. If Dade were to fall, however, the Templars would have lost its head. And without a head, a snake will die easily, no matter how potent the poison. And so Dade listened. And he waited. He would wait until the time was right. And then he would act. And not a moment sooner. Without closing his eyes, without losing any balance and without floating any lower to the ground, he gently reached down and t

    Remsi system

The Venturer decanted with seven other cruisers, and Darth Insipid threw a glance at the display as he dashed for his freighter. That was an unpleasant defense force. Had he not manipulated the rest of the fleet to jump when it did... he'd be very dead in a few minutes. Insipid very quickly tapped a series of different orders in - these eight cruisers wouldn't be aware that there command net was compromised, after all - and had the cruisers start launching gravity mines.

Brought along simply for this engagement, so that no Yuuzhan Vong warships could escape the calamity, they would now be having the opposite effect; trapping the Bothan fleet in-system. Insipid reached into the Force, trying to mentally locate the powerhouse that was Sekot, which would be undoubtedly where the Bothan fleet would be heading, simultaneously reaching for his freighter, prepping his comlink to warn his agents across the fleet -

The Force buckled, and the two Bothan guards flew away, crushed into the wall, their weapons tossed aside and their armor compressing at the joints to prevent them moving at all. Insipid hesitated, reactivating his lightwhip -

And was promptly clubbed with a massive wave of the Force, thrown up into the air. Insipid's eyes bulged in shock, and he abruptly grabbed at the Force, at the Templar, anchoring himself to her and bringing himself to his feet with a complicated twist. He released a breath, looked up, and -

    She hit him again.

Wind escaped his lungs, and Insipid hurtled out of the hangar, just about managing to open the corridor doors with a twist of the Force - hitting them would hurt - and he clutched at the Force, spinning back and landing on his feet, snarling his rage. His lightwhip was gone, arching towards her hand, and Insipid let her have it.

    All of it.

Her pushed out with the Force, a bubble of telekinesis that pressed into the bulkheads, shattering lightbars and terminals, the pressure building as he held it, the energy desperate to escape, to burst free, to unleash itself -

Insipid simply funneled it down the corridor, the counter-pressure causing the ripples in the Force to increase, to overlap, and explode out, a wave of the Force as potent as anything he'd ever thrown at an opponent - and for less effort, simple physics allowed him to create a bubble of counter-pressure by virtue of the corridor. She dropped the lightwhip and her blade as he began to build up, and held her hands forward, placing them together and pushing out. Splitting the wave with her shield, it folded over her, and dissipated. Had Insipid been watching, he would have been horrified to see she'd survived so perfectly.

Insipid, however, hadn't been paying attention. He had ran after the wave, dropping his holdout into his hands, and when she opened her eyes, the calmness of her inner peace having survived the storm of brutality -

He shot her in the throat.

She dropped, gasping, and Insipid ran for his ship, gesturing his lightwhip and her lightsaber over. She wouldn't survive that shot, but she would die slowly. That suited him.

    --

Admiral Bao found his eight ships emerge in the void, with no opponents nearby. It was a surprise - he'd been expecting an armada to pounce on him, when that Prowler escaped. It was clear, however, the other ships were struggling to defend themselves. Even the Venturer had wide-spread reports of sabotage. They wouldn't last long.

A shot soared past the task force, a long-range shot that Bao grimaced at. It was particularly long-range. He'd have to microjump in to get close enough to that force - made up as it was with dozens more of those Prowlers and Mon Cal-esque warships. His crew looked to him. "A warning shot, evidently," he responded, coldly, his fur ruffling. Nobody warned the Bothan Navy to stay away. No matter how impressive their deployment was.

But then the ships began launching gravity mines, and Bao snapped at his weapons master. "What the Fey'lya are you doing, Korsk? I d

In a split second, before she could think, before she could even bat a lash of her own, a light flickered within, within her being, in life, within in the Force. The sound of a thousands, millions of souls crying out in pain, and yet another sharp flicker within the Force and a familiar shrill pierced through her mind. Through her very core, and she clutched to Kahn for support.

There was nothing, no words, no?actions that could explain the pain and the loss she felt even if it was slightly dampened by all that was taking place all at once. Yet this?connection?was one that could not be explained by the Force. It had been established within the womb. No Jedi had ever been able to explain it. Yet research had ceased many years ago ? and that is where it had been left.

Allegra clutched to Kahn praying to the Force that the pain would cease. Not even pregnancy hurt like this. Her head buried within the crook of his arm she tried to reach out, hoping that what she felt was just a misread within the bond between her and her twin. However there was always a gut wrenching feeling that it was not.

A few seconds had only passed yet Allegra tried to lift her head from Kahn?s arm.

    RMSV Asgard

The Admiral watched as the warning shot grazed the outer edge of the task force. It was a Remsian tradition to give an enemy the chance to surrender. ?Status Ensign?? the admiral looked down at the young ensign, who by some sad irony, was Bothan. Not that that changed how the Admiral thought of his ensign, they were Remsians first individual cultures second, united by the wish for freedom from oppression.

?They got the message Sir, and are replying by arming weapons. They are also directing themselves along the orbital path of Zonama Sekot.?

The Admiral scowled, that was obviously their target. ?Ok, I want all the Sombers to Microjump between Zonama Sekot and the Bothan fleet. All starfighter squadrons that are in the air, microjump within range of the Enemy fleet and engage, have the Colcha's Legacy and her escorts follow for support, all other ships move to engage the fleet at sublight speed and range. Fighters are to avoid direct line of fire of all capital ships, Capital ships, break to allow our welcoming wagon a clear line of sight. Communications give me Fleet Admiral Keat.?

    Fleet Admiral Keat
    Remsi Prime Defense Control Center

The Fleet Admiral stood in the center of a room filled with displays, holographic and otherwise. There was a large fleet, dozens of Avengences all together, but this time, they were prepared.

?Sir. Fleet Admiral Pathfinder is hailing you.?

?Activate the HoloComm.? The central holographic display lit up and a torso up image of Pathfinder, a hulking human, of Ragithian Human decent, appeared. ?Admiral Pathfinder.?

?Admiral Keat. We've moved the ships to give your people a clear shot, please fire at will.?

?Will do Admiral.? Keat raised his voice so everyone could hear him, ?Alright, people show time!?

Behind him a young male captain began calling off statuses, ?Global Orbital Defense Network Online. Connection with orbital stations established. Stations Mishara, Mishura, Arko, Gemma, Dinsha, Bresha, and Gallows are within optimal targeting position to engage the enemy forces at Long range.?

?Seven out of Forty, not bad, not bad. All stations with targeting solutions, Fire.?

Global Orbital Defense Network (G.O.D. Network)
Orbital Defense Stations Mishara, Mishura, Arko, Gemma, Dinsha, Bresha, and Gallows
    Remsi Prime Orbit

High above Remsi Prime, above the bubble of the worlds planetary shield, seven of the forty massive 200 meter long orbital guns took aim at their respected targets. Seven individual Bothan Assault Cruisers at the head of the task force. In the bowels of the massive structures their clustered fusion reactors began to whine as they pumped power into their single large Neutron Cannons. Massive directed energy weapons, so large only full scale capital ships could carry them, without a drastic downgrade in power.

At once seven bright blue lances of energy burned across the blackness of space, between gaps in the Remsian defense fleet. At the same time the Asgard opened fire with its second cannon, this time aimed at the nose of the ship they had warned earlier. And while the Asgards cannons were not as powerful as those of the Defense stations, they were no less deadly to a ship not expecting them.

    Somber-class escort cruisers 1-40

The forty small one hundred and ten meter long escort ships preformed the the group microjump with pinpoint accuracy, to their credit. And every crew member on each ship knew they were just to act as a shield, a distraction, while the rest of the fleet moved in. Though numbered as they were, they would be lucky if they were able to go toe to toe with 10 of the Cruisers heading towards their new location.

No they were to hold this position and destroy any missiles launched at Zonama Sekot, any fighters of shuttles. And if worse came to worse each person on every ship would willingly give their lives to save Sekot, or any other planet in the Republic.

    Bothan Assault Cruiser Venture

Vii watched as Insipid ran, the coward, a foolish coward. She rose up, rubbing the burn marks that now covered her neck. As if a Wind Sage would not know how to use Force Deflection. She grabbed her saber and ran up around the corner to see Insipid's ship leaving the hanger and accelerating away from the ship. ?Well now the fleet will handle him... I guess now my job is to take control of this ship.?

She turned and started charging down the corridor, and it only took a moment to find a Bothan sent to find what the disturbance was. With a simple flick of the Force the Bothan's rifle was ripped from his hands and he was slammed into the wall, not hard enough to knock him out or kill him, but just enough to stun him. ?What is the name of this ship.?

He didn't answer quick enough so she applied more pressure to him against the wall. ?The Venture!? He cried out in pain.

She eased the pressure a bit, ?Good, now, where is the nearest turbolift to take me to the bridge.? He struggled against the wall, attempting to push himself away, which saw him slammed into the opposite side. ?Answer.?

    ?Down this corridor, third left.?

?Thank you.? With a swift flick of her wrist she sent him flying again, this time hard enough to render him unconscious, and set off down the corridor. It took her a few minutes, and several dead Bothans before she stepped into the Turbolift.

?Bridge.? As the lift shot upward through the ship she took a deep breath and centered herself for what she assumed would be a very difficult battle. The lift came to a stop and the door opened revealing a room filled with many a Bothan. Armed and unarmed. She smiled as the turned to face her, ?Hello gentlemen. I've been sent by the Remsian Republic to inform you that you frelled up.? Her left hand flicked up and a storm of Force Lightning erupted from her fingertips filling the immediate area around the turbolift with electricity.

As she spoke, she took his measure and smiled slightly, "He is a formable person," she thought. Looking back at her ship and back to the man, "I would say, that is a tight fit. Lord Avarice

Avarice watched silently as the young woman flipped out of the cockpit and landed on the deck. ?Is she attempting to impress me? Interesting...? As the woman nodded he returned, a small nod. ?Hmm, Dark Sun is it? Interesting. I am Lord Avarice." He eyed the space left with the Headhunter in the cargo hold, ?You could say that squeezing big things into small spaces is a small hobby of mine.?

?Now we've been sent here for a very important reason. Come.? Avarice turned on his heal and headed down the path leading down the center of the ship, towards the cockpit. The Black Abyss had been positioned to face the planet. ?On this planet, Orinda, is Moff Matthias Kya. Kya is very very important to Our plans.? Avarice pressed a button, bringing up a small display of the recent bombings around the galaxy. ?Recently several key worlds were attacked by bombings. Including Bastion. By happenstance, the ships that were bombed destroyed the Imperial Palace, killing ?His Imperial Highness? and leaving the Empire without a leader. We are going to supply that leader.?

?Kya has the ability to take the throne, but so do many other Moffs. But Kya is the one most likely to bend to our will. As such, we need to make sure that he does try to take the throne, and that he does succeed.? He shifted the display to show Orinda's orbital defenses. ?This planet has Eight Pelleon-class Super Star Destroyers, eight Turbulent-class Star Destroyers, and Eight Imperial-class Destroyers. Formidable yes, but utterly useless.?

?This ship is equipped with an electronic warfare system that will make it seem as though its invisible to sensors. Eyes might still see us, but that is why the ship is painted black. Once we are past this blockade we are to make our way to the Imperial Fortress upon this world. That is where the problems will begin. It is currently night, so we won't be seen easily, but once we land there will be problems. And as much as I dislike to say it, this is a mission that even a Lord as myself cannot handle alone without chances of failure.?

?So here is what we are going to do.? He pressed a series of buttons and the display switched to that of an imposing imperial fortress, of the classic imperial design. ?We will land our ships here. I will release you and your fighter once we have bypassed the blockade and are in atmo, from there we will land in this small clearing. If things go wrong I believe chasing two targets is much more difficult than that of chasing one. But after we land. We will make our way to the wall of the fortress, which is a 2 kilometer distance.?

?From there we will make our way in via the service access tunnels. This world is heavily defended so the access tunnels have only light guards, perhaps a little more. Inside the fortress however, there will be heavy troop movement, and the intelligence my Master gave my lists Imperial Knights as Kya's personal guard. They will be a small issue to contend with.? He cut the display and eyed Dark Sun, ?Now this mission is an unusual one, there will be lots of blaster fire, and I have seen what happens when a well trained lightsaber combatant is overwhelmed by fire. So we have been supplied with light armor from,? Avarice smiled, ?Lord Mikaru's benefactors, as well as a two blaster rifles, I believe their called Type-310's or something quaint like that.?

?We are to keep the fact that we are lightsaber wielders secret for as long as possible in this mission. Dark Sun watched the man look at the bay, and smiled faintly as he spoke, ?You could say that squeezing big things into small spaces is a small hobby of mine.? Then she followed her partner to the command deck, taking in all that she saw, which was not much.
Lord Avarice was full of information to get, but she had the mind to listen and keep her eyes and mind open to remember everything.

?We are to keep the fact that we are lightsaber wielders secret for as long as possible in this mission. We want the get to those knights thinking that they are fighting what they have come to know as ?Combat Forms? artificial force users who act as mercenaries for certain groups. At least from what I'm told. Once we reach the knights however we will be free to kill them as we see fit.? Avarice then began moving back down the corridor, ?Follow me.?

After sometime of button pushing and looking at information that he had, she quickly came to decide that this Moff had to be captured not killed, which she always hated. Killing was her field, not capture if possible, but she would do what is needed for this job. Then she stopped for what he said next.

?This ship is equipped with an electronic warfare system that will make it seem as though its invisible to sensors. Eyes might still see us, but that is why the ship is painted black. She almost let show on her face the shock, that a Lord admitted such a weakness, but what he has mentioned so far she nodded the possible chance of failure even for her. Then she realize the full chance of dieing and failing the Dark Lord in his next words.

?So here is what we are going to do.? He pressed a series of buttons and the display switched to that of an imposing imperial fortress, of the classic imperial design. ?We will land our ships here. Dark Sun nodded her acceptence of the coming fun. Yes fun, for she had only two duels and her palette was barely wetted with those. Now, the thoughts of mass killing was here, and she was almost drooling at the possiblities of it. However her thoughts of walking straight to the fortress was nulled by his next words.

?From there we will make our way in via the service access tunnels. This world is heavily defended so the access tunnels have only light guards, perhaps a little more. IC: Clan Arbiter Huri Tashiro
    Nebula-class Star Destroyer The Morganus

Huri Tashiro had been an arbiter of the Clan for 7 years, and had been one of the most senior members of the Family Tashiro for more than a decade. He was considered prime candidacy for the status of Clan Elder and was at one point thought to be the next candidate for Sovereign, but Artus, a man Huri admits is wiser than him, took that position. But now, at 37 years old he had received an honor, being the captain of the Morganus a ship that had served the Clan for nearly 90 years.

Back after the New Republic had taken Coruscant the Mikaru Clan put their financial and technological support behind the government. One of the very first things they did was put support into the Defender Ship Design Program. This program, which eventually shifted into the New Class program gave birth to several ship classes, the Majestic-class, Defender-class Carriers and Starfighters, and the Endurance. But the most powerful design to be born of the program was the Nebula-class Star Destroyer, the class to which the Morganus belonged.

The Mikarus had purchased the ship with the intent of continuing to improve upon the modernization program. By seeing how effective modified systems, new weapons, engines, anything operated on the new chassis design the Mikarus could use that information to better design newer ships and systems. A tunned up reactor, a modified point nine hyperdrive, a black reinforced hull, and a overpowered reinforced shield system. The ship also received an additional 40 cannons, but not of the type that most ships received in this day and age. Unlike the laser cannons and turbolasers that most capital ships get in an upgrade, the Morganus got 40 electromagnetic powered rail cannons.

During the Yuuzhan Vong war she participated in several battles, and she had an uncharacteristically high kill to loss rate than most other ships on the New Republic side of the war. For every fighter she lost she generally killed 2-3, and her use of ballistic weapons was somewhat more effective than the standard lasers and turbolasers because they traveled at a different speeds with each round, and their lack of electronics and exhaust made them hard to track. And the fact that gravity from dovain bassals altered their trajectory her gunners learned to 'arc' rounds so that the pull of gravity actually pulled the rounds around the gravity wells.

The Ships high kill rate earned her the nickname Vongbuster by her crew and the clan. Just before the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of Coruscant a top mounted heavy 46cm cannon that fired electromagnetically propelled Nuclear Warheads akin to the Proton Torpedo. This cannon was used to provide covering fire during the invasion, while the clan population evacuated on their own ships, or to the Morganus herself. Using a tactic in which the cannon fired a round around the planet in an orbital loop, the round came around behind a Suuv Ban D'Krid and destroyed it.

The ship had a rich and proud history, and now, at 85 years old she still served with distinction as the clans largest and most popular ship. And at this moment, she was accelerating through hyperspace beyond the limit her hyperdrive was meant to handle. Not long before the crew had been watching the Senatorial Meeting via the holonet when the impostor 'Darth Mikaru' had appeared and addressed the Senate. This alone had Huri order the engineers to pump emergency power into the Hyperdrive to spin it up quicker. When the holonet suddenly crashed Huri had ordered an Emergency jump right away to Coruscant and had ordered his navigational officer to preform the near impossible.

The ship suddenly began to rock, not violently, but noticeably. They had hit the planets gravity well, normally an instant stop for a ship, but the Morganus had a Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer. This system, commonly called the HIMS allowed a ship to maintain hyperspace for a short while during a gravity well. Its original purpose was to

    Coruscant, Mikaru Tower

Bacora Sel took his time as he was escorted into the tower. His Force senses keenly touched every surface he could find, tuning out the slight buzzing the Echani guards were making as they cut through the air. He could find little taint of the darkness, but it was there. He could feel it, under the surface. Dark siders were concealing themselves, or had visited not too long ago. Having little experience of other 'grey' groups such as the Jensaarai, it did not occur to Bacora that the Mikaru Clan could have relations with a group that sought to use the light and dark side equally.

As such, his opinion that the Mikaru clan were darksiders only increased, especially considering how militant they had made themselves.

And so when he eventually met the Sovereign, Bacora kept his hands clear of his robes, so he may use the Force if necessary. He could sense no evil from Artus Mikaru, but Bacora assumed he was concealing such thoughts for now. ?Master Jedi.?

    "Sovereign," returned Bacora, neutrally.

?First. Understand that we have no want for unnecessary bloodshed here. But we will defend ourselves if you, or the GA assault us without reason or warrant.? he nodded to the datapad in the Jedi's hand, ?And I don't mean that farce you carry along with you.?

Bacora didn't comment. The comment didn't require anything else. The warrant would stand up in court, and they both knew it.

Artus instead nodded upwards, ?We know you have a ship in orbit above this tower, I'd rather like it if you called it off. We have a ship in Orbit too, and again, we don't want conflict. We had nothing to do with this. We despise the Sith, we cut relations with Tapani when we learned they were working with the Sith. I'd go so far to say we dislike the Sith more than you Jedi. They are manipulative, and create only destruction, unnecessary, nonconstructive destruction.?

Bacora felt a quirk of humour enter his mind, and voiced it nonetheless. "There is constructive destruction?"

?Now I want you to think clearly here, As we know from the past you Jedi are just as capable if not more so of jumping to conclusions than the Sith. You have a city planet full of people. This world just lost contact with the holonet, we have access to the Imperial Holonet. In fact I can tell you that Bastion, Fondor, and Kuat have been struck in similar manners to this. In fact reports we've gleaned say the Emperor is dead.?

Bacora blinked, ignoring the lecturing tone of voice and endeavouring to calm himself. The Imperial HoloNet was still up? And the Mikaru clan had access to it? That was worth its weight in credcoins at the moment...

Artus pointed out the way Bacora had come, ?You have a planet full of people, disconnected from the galaxy, many of whom are questionable. This worlds military is in disarray, and the defense force isn't capable of dealing with the clear and obvious repercussions that are about to happen. But we are a military contractor. We are a small army. We, can help keep things in order. Now you can accept the fact that we have no idea who this Darth Mikaru is, you an accept that we would never work with the Sith. You can accept the fact that 28 of the soldiers you have outside this tower are armed with our equipment.?

Bacora waited for the 'or'. There was always an 'or', when negotiating.

?Or? Artus locked eyes with Bacora, and the Jedi Master returned the gaze dispassionately. ?you can choose to cause more conflict by attempting to arrest us, by attempting to pin the blame on us with just circumstantial evidence, a violation of the law. And I can activate the full defenses of this complex, the ship in orbit, and the factory on Centax 3, and we can go about causing more chaos than this world needs. Which decision do you want to live with the rest of your life Master Jedi? I know which one would help me sleep better at night.?

Bacora paused, and considered that, looking to the various screens on

"He is going to crash," a soft, androgynous voice said through the force and Dade sighed. "Thank you for letting me know," he replied back to the voice of Sekot. So, Insipid was going to crash, either out of the fact that his ship had been defeated or because he was intentionally trying to crash. Dade really didn't care why he was crashing. It didn't change the fact that he was going to crash.

The confrontation would soon be at hand. But a bigger problem was at hand at the moment: Dade was out of tea. Without opening his eyes, he gently moved his right hand. The pot slowly moved from its heating plate over to his tea cup, and poured itself, pouring a decent measure of black aromatic tea into it. Another move of the hand, and the pot slowly glided back to its place. Lowering his hand, Dade focused. As he did so, his vision went from the blackness of the force, through the meditation room, and out into the wilderness of Sekot. The wilderness was still untouched for the moment. Various military personnel were mobilizing to their posts, others were preparing for the defense against the soon to come invasion. Others were escorting the last of the non-military citizens into the caverns below the surface, where they would be safe, provided the defenses of Sekot held.

His vision returning to the warm dark of the force, Dade took a soothing sip of tea. It was still not time to act. He would know when the time came. For now, he would enjoy his tea.

The sensation of having someone in your mind was a disturbing one. The fact that she had broken through his prepared mental barriers was an even more disturbing fact. But what he felt, what he sense through this sudden mental bond was not disturbing. It was surprising. It wasn't a deranged mind, or the mind of a killer, it was confused. It had been assumed, and now confirmed to him, that these people were not necessarily fully aware of what they are. Or even volunteers for what had been done to them.

Norn felt sorrow. Sadness. He'd known that he'd killed before in the name of the Empire, perhaps even killed innocents in the name of the Empire. But the realization that he had killed people he thought were enemies but were in fact not in control of what they were or how they were acting, it made him regret. Friends he thought preferring to speak to her on the mental level, to help her understand, Yes friends. They are my friends, they come to my aid, but they do not, I do not, have to be your enemy. I can be your friend.

What has been done to you, what has been done to the others, isn't fair. You had your friends taken from you, you were taken from them. Me and My friends can undo this. We can help you. We can be your friends. We can help you make new friends. You can use the gifts you have been given, to help. And we can help you learn to fully use your gifts. We can, if you, or any of the other want, to try and undo what has been done to you, to try and return you to your old lives.

Norn lowered his sabers, as a sign that he meant what he said. He also believed what he said, and knew she would be able to tell that. I regret having to kill the others. It was not my wish to take anyones life. But had I not done so I would not be here. I would not be able to offer you the chance for something new. For something for yourselves.

You are like me, you are gifted, you have the ability to bring about change, to make things better everywhere. That is my goal, that is the goal of my friends in the Fighters. There are those with our gifts who would abuse them. There are those, like the professor who would abuse you, and others like you, for their own gains. We are not like that. We want to promote peace over all else. We want a better existence, regardless of the cost to ourselves. We don't have to be enemies. We can help you, you can help us, but first, you must choose to help yourselves and the others. Do that, and I promise, I promise on my Honor I will do everything within my power to help you.

    Vincent Mikaru I

"Why hello, Vincent! It has been a while, hasn't it? Is that a warning shot, I imagine?" The Ivory Daggers sensors detected a power build up from the freighter. "I'm a bit busy, you see, my friend, so you'll have to catch up!" The freighter shot off into hyperspace, the coward that Insipid was, was fleeing. Vincent quickly calculated a intercept jump, his destination was clear, but the solution was not so easy at hand.

Alarms rang out in the cockpit as the hyperdrive systems refused to kick in, a mass shadow was present, those mines. Vincent quickly calculated the closest mine using his sensors to identify the center of the current gravity well he was in. Using these calculations he sent firing solutions to a nearby Phoenix. He then ordered the Dark Wolves squadron to engage the fighters moving to defend the failing cruiser, then claim the cruiser for the Republic.

A white sphere, a tiny sun erupted into existence in the central mass of the shadow, taking with it the mine. The space clear, the Ivory Dagger shot off into hyperspace after the Solo-class freighter, skimming the other shadows, and being pulled out by the gravity well of Zonama Sekot. The calculations, targeting and jump had given Insipid enough time to move far ahead of the Dagger.

He was at the periphery of the fighters range, entering the atmosphere now. But the Dagger had speed. The two blade wings folded inward and the two ion drives burst into a bright blue fiery glow. The

Once you change, you may place your normal clothes here in this locker. Are there any other questions??

"Nope, it is all clear and I will just keep my own stuff with me if you do not mind." Then with no further comment, she turned her back, and opened the case to see the outfit. Nodding her acceptence of it, she took out the uniform and slipping her own off over her head. Folding it revertly, she placed it in the case and started to slip on the other suit. Dark Sun should had forced or waited till the other left, but she really did not mind. All he got to see is the large Krat Dragon tattoo on her back and the few healed but lightly scarred skin. Smiling she continued to pull on the bottoms, and pulled the rest up and slipped her arms into it.

It was like it was made just for her, and no one else. It felt like a second skin, and it moved all in the right places for her build. Even the boots were snug, but not tight for her feet. If they were no longer wanted by her Master, than she may just keep it and use it for stealth missions later on. Than she tied her hair in a top knot, on top of her head and shook it too make sure it did not come loose. It did not and opened a small pouch on her belt. Taking out the non reflective lip stick, she applied it too her lips. Smacking them together, and feeling good about it, Dark Sun, snatched her belt and clipped it on. Then sought out places to put her sabers where they could not be seen, but decided to strap them too her back, for everyone will be in front...hopefully.

After thinking about some patience, she had to agree. So while she waited, she studyed the 310, and did a few excersises to get more of a "feel" of the new suit. It still surprised her still how it moved and stayed with her as she moved and twisted. She figured it was almost time, and not careing when Lord Avarice had left her alone, she was ready and went too her ship to check on it and prepare it for battle.

    Ylesia

Within the safety of hyperspace, Zayl was able to finally think now that the chaos was momentarily put on hold. Well...the immediate chaos of Star Destroyers and Sith-piloted fighters anyway. The galaxy seemed to still be shaken, or at least the Core anyway. When Zayl reached out, to try and get an idea of how far this violence went, he found it lessening the more he looked outwards. What happened? At one point they were just off on a mission, freeing slaves while pretending to be Jedi, and then they were fighting Sith, getting ambushed by Destroyers, and now this bit of craziness that came up during the middle of it.

Speaking of getting ambushed...how did they know that they had been coming at Senex? With a Destroyer having been right on top of them and squadrons of fighters that had been all around them...it wasn't coincidence at all. Those forces had been waiting for them. But how? A leak? No, the flight to Senex had been a sudden thing, neither him nor Rem having informed the Emperor or anyone else back at the Empire. Could it have been Rem? No, the other Knight had several opportunities to betray him and with the way those Sith ships had been intent on killing him and his successful disruption of the convoy, Zayl found it unlikely.

So...how? With their journey, the Knight had plenty of time to think, to go over the events. He started at the obvious point, to when they first decided to go to Senex. Could it have been one of the slaves that gave them in? A guard? No...the area had been clear. There had been him, Rem-

And a dying Sith hanging right above them.

Zayl blanched at the memory of Darth Verrick. The Knight had been sure that the Sith was going to die after having been impaled the way he had been during their duel. Could it be possible that he had survived? Or at least long enough to tell others about their journey to Senex? Damn, possibly. It was a good thing that neither he or Rem slipped any indications of what their true identities were.

A minor mishap then. They still managed to disrupt the convoy so they should be fine if Rem was right about Ylesia.

Which he wasn't. At least not about the Core Ship.

Much more prepared after Senex in case they ran into yet another surprised, Zayl quickly spun his StealthX away from the ship before Rem warned - did he just call Zayl his apprentice? - him. Big warship or not, the StealthX was years ahead of the Core Ship in terms of tech, even if it was damaged. But again, Zayl was going to make sure to watch out for any extra surprises as he and Rem flew towards the Core Ship.

[IC: Allegra Ziaen-Iceay ? Council Chambers, Jedi Temple, Coruscant]

His grip was secure, comforting and supportive as he lowered them both to the ground once orders were given. It took a moment until she heard his second calling to her, ?Love, are you alright? It?s passed.? Her vision was still clouded over, yet it returned within seconds and her brandy eyes slowly shifted their gaze to Kahn?s concerned face. They were hollow, like something was now missing. Allegra could barely open her lips to speak.

?Jaid.? Voice broken, weakness was evident. She spoke of her sister, her twin.

Soon things began to her return, her senses, she felt the cool floor beneath her, she smelt the familiar smell of the council chambers, even the foul stench of?well she wouldn?t mention that particular Jedi. Yet tears were still in her eyes, what she had felt was a pain like no other. A loss she had prayed she would never feel in all her life.

Allegra knew she was stronger than this. Even if she felt weak she used Kahn as leverage to help pull herself back onto her feet. Stumbling at first yet steadying herself in the end, her gaze turned to his once again. She was exhausted, the pain she felt having seemed to wipe any and all energy within him.

    Zonama Sekot

Darth Insipid smiled as he fell to his death. It was a pleasant moment, this knowing. He could sense the impossible power of Zonama Sekot, of how it could crush him in an instant; had he not encompassed himself in ysalamiri. He could feel the numerous gunnery platforms targeting him; had he not dropped from hyperspace straight above the planet. He could feel the anger of Vincent Mikaru; and that was something he had to cope with.

He looked at the little creature that twinkled its eyes at him, and recalled where the Temple of Twilight was. He anticipated Greyst and Dade would be there. And all manner of individuals. But Insipid knew the truth, knew that he was wanted. As the Bothan Fleets still pressed on, holes in their formation growing as the fleet was picked apart one shot at a time.

He paid attention to Vincent, smiling softly.

?Allow me Insipid, to welcome you to Zonama Sekot. We're a kind bunch here, we welcome all sorts of friends. But you shouldn't cross us, we have a fiery disposition!." Ion cannon shots played out across the Solo-class freighter, and as Insipid watched, his fall became even less controlled; less and less. He tapped the controls, cutting off his own systems from that of the freighter.

He was going to crash, and, then, die. Pointlessly.

Insipid checked the Holocron in his pocket, and the weapons attached to him. And then, with a smile, he pointed his shoto at the ysalamiri and killed it; the Force bubble deflated when he was less than a kilometer from the surface. With a flicker of his hand, the Force broke the hold open, spilling Insipid inside his little Blur out into the orbit of Sekot - Insipid's ancient Stealth TIE Bomber - a prototype line used by Darth Caedus' Galactic Alliance and then bought from Sienar wholesale by Insipid just before his first moment in stasis - was a nimble black-hulled fighter, but it's stealth ability was useless in orbit.

The freighter plowed down towards the Temple of Twilight, for its part.

Darth Insipid tapped the comlink. "Vincent, I'd stop that if I was you. I'll see you down there - care to have a rerun with your friends?" The Sith Lord began to land, just before the Temple - in the courtyard that he sensed milling Templars within. He landed, shut down everything, and popped the hatch, standing on the roof of his Blur, his lightwhip now in hand, and a remote in the other.

    "Anyone home?"

Bacora Sel got a reaction, alright, but not the one he had been anticipating. Not at all. The guards departed, leaving the door slightly ajar. Sel resisted the urge to shut it himself. Artus began to walk, and Sel held his hands out, open palmed.

?Master Jedi. What is the definition of dark?? Artus paused, and Bacora took that as an invitation to think, but not answer - he chose not to think, as he knew the answer - but this was an old debate, as he understood it. ?Dark is, having an absolute or relative lack of light.?

Bacora simply, thus, watched the man walk around, letting him presume the Jedi was rude enough to interrupt. He was, as a rule, but Bacora didn't need to prove himself right philosophically - only practically. As a Guardian he was quite nonmilitant - by their provocative standards.

?So then what is the definition of light?? he raised his hand, denoting that he wasn't finished. ?I know, it depends on the subject at hand. So I'll answer with what I mean definition. ?Light, by popular definition is good. Good by popular definition changes.? Bacora disagreed with that - but he was a deontologist, not a utilitarian. Artus lowered his hand, as he began to put across his point. ?We are grey.?

Bacora summoned up trite comparisons with maverick Grey Jedi and those who believed either side of the Force were tools - those such as Jolee Bindo, Qui-Gon Jinn, Kreia

    Vincent Mikaru

Vincent, for his part, wasn't actually after Insipid to go after Insipid. Granted he wanted to take the mans head in his hands and twist it off manually so that he could see his own dying body. But revenge took a second place in cases like this, when there was an unguided freighter barreling its way towards the Temple. Vincent targeted the freighter with his proton torpedo system and transmitted the data to the nearest defense instillation.

?Destroy it now!? The sensors of any ship in the area would scream at the sudden influx of power in the area as a massive blue beam engulfed what had been Insipid's ship moments ago. But there was a problem for Vincent. The shortest a Neutron cannon blast could last was 15 seconds, and he'd hit it in less than 5. The Echani yanked up hard on the control yoke but it wasn't enough. The bottom and rear section of the fighter skimmed the blast, melting away the engines of the fighter.

Inertia alone carried the fighter past the rest of the blast but that inertia didn't last long. Within seconds the Ivory Dagger was barreling nose down straight to the woods on the outer edge of the temple grounds. Vincent cursed in Echani, in a manner that if translated to basic many a individual in the galaxy would blush with shame. A pale white fist slammed into the emergency ejection switch.

Bolts around the cockpit exploded, separating it from the rest of the fighter. A small repulsorlift kicked in and the module pushed off from the crashing hulk, leaving it plummet into the forest. The landing systems of the small pod kicked in and it drifted, rapidly, towards an inner courtyard of the Temple grounds. But he was moving to fast, the impact would crush the module into a pancake.

Vincent redirected the module, towards Insipid's fighter. ~20 seconds to impact~ The module screamed and rocked straining against the forces against it. Vincent popped the top of the cockpit, the hatch flying off from the sheering forces of the wind. The air whipped around him as he stood, bracing himself. ~10 seconds to impact~

Pushing the Force into his feet Vincent back flipped out of the cockpit, holding his arms and legs out from his body to slow his descent. Vincent took in a deep breath, his eyes closed, his mind focusing into the force. He felt the heat wave of the explosion as the module struck the fighter. The force swirled around his legs as he tucked them in underneath him, cushioning his landing as hie slammed into the ground feet first. He mentally winced, the landing had hurt, the force and his training had kept anything from breaking, but the landing had stung him non the less.

Rising, Vincent opened his eyes, his two silver hilted lightsabers leaping into his hands, their crimson blades springing to life, silent, their activation almost casting a shadow over Vincent in the force, making him harder to perceive. He was good 40 yards from Insipid now, at least if the idiot got off the fighter, and he knew the Sith lord would see him, and probably year him. ?Insipid my old friend. Is this how you thank people for welcoming you into their home? You should be ashamed.?
