    IC: Mother Cappie
Aboard the Dead Bolt, Spaceport, Sentren II

Cappie picked herself up and punched a button near the co-pilot's chair, quickly calling up an emergency diagnostic. The ship was still spaceworthy, although the hyperdrive was still non-functional, of course. But Cappie noticed the readout reported the hyperdrive had several of the major components intact, many still installed. The person who had taken it apart was apparently very familiar with starship mechanics. Cappie had never heard of any Nosaurians or Wooiees being so skilled with high technology. But it's a big galaxy, she thought. There's no reason one of these two couldn't have disassembled the engine so well. That made things easier for her as well. Repairing the hyperdrive was just a matter of reconnecting the basic components, like the interlocking plastic brick construction toys she had had as a child. It would be a snap, except for getting the blaster-toting Nosaurian to let her do it. He stalked back to the hyperdrive, apparently to guard it against her.

Just as soon as the computer confirmed that the hull was intact, blaster fire pierced the front windows and seared the ship's "roof." Cappie jumped back and pressed against the wall, avoiding the blast. Well, if the ship was spaceworthy before, it wasn't now. Still, they had to take off before the Imps did any more damage. They wouldn't be able to make it too high into the atmosphere though, and certainly not into orbit. What could be done? Cappie considered setting up a makeshift slave circuit so they could control the ship from somewhere else and just seal of the cockpit. Cappie had learned how to make a rudimentary slave circuit in engineering school, but she wasn't sure she remembered how. It was more of a computer system modification than a mechanical one. Cappie put her hand on Nejos' shoulder. "Reyhn, Rehyn, are you okay? We have to take off!"

    Ben Kenobi
    Tatooine deserts

He heard the distinctive snap-hiss of a saber, felt the charge through the Force. With the simples of movements, Kenobi was on his feet, saber in hand, meeting Sing's charge. If she wanted to fight, then a fight she'd get. With a crack, the glimmering blades met and ground against one another. Ben set his feet, eyes on his adversary.

    "My name is Kenobi."

Quick post because I'm a bit short on time at the moment ...

    IC: Raine Vartan
    Aboard the Mathayus, near Rishi

The thing with Raine's career as an Inquisitor thus far is that it had been unremarkable. She went on missions, completed them, reported back, and got assigned to another ... nothing exceptional, all very routine, and all of that served to place her square in the middle of the Inquisitorious ranks. Not exceptional enough to be handpicked from the ranks ... not mediocre enough to be purged ... just ordinary, until now.

As a result, this was the most contact she'd had with either Vader or the Emperor in years, and the most she'd ever been addressed by both simultaneously. It was ... enlightening.

"No, my Lord," Raine said. "I will leave at once."

She bowed, then turned to make her way back to her shuttle.

    IC: Rehyn Nejos
Aboard the Dead Bolt, Hangar Bay, Sentren II

The pain and fear radiating off of the teen was making it very difficult for Rehyn to concentrate. His hands worked over the familiar instruments of the control panel, but they appeared to be in slow motion and out of sync, his fingers fumbling over numerous controls before initiating the correct sequence. If it weren't for the Wookiee deciding to step in at the right moment, they would've never got airborne and Rehyn offered him a quick nod of thanks.

Everything was finally starting to come together and just when it appeared as if they would make their escape, a searing white blast slammed into the Dead Bolt, bouncing across her roof and tearing up the hull in the process. The Wookiee was fast to jump to his feet and return fire at the source of the blast but Rehyn was not so quick. He just simply gaped at the damage and let loose a colorful string of curses to express his malcontent. So much for blasting away from this rock - they would need another escape route.

"Inquisitor! The boy was suicidal! We need to get away from the hangar!"

    More pain. Suffering. Death.

    The boy.

"NOO!" Rehyn yelled at the top of his lungs, suddenly shutting himself off from the Force to block out the anguish of the boy's passing. He had so much life and just like that, it had been whisked away. It wasn't fair. Nothing was fair anymore and it was that very thought that prompted him into action. He had to save the lives he could and stop being so selfish to prevent another travesty.

A comforting hand suddenly found its way onto his shoulder. "Reyhn," Cappie murmured softly. Rehyn, are you okay? We have to take off!"

Rehyn inhaled deeply and craned his neck to offer the woman a weak smile. "Fine," he returned simply, reaching up and giving her hand a gentle squeeze of reassurance. "Now go strap yourself in, this could be a bumpy ride. And if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears!"

With a burst of speed, the Dead Bolt surged towards her freedom.
