Hi everyone! I've been lurking the forums for a few years now and never really had the courage to post. I noticed that a lot of tips for almost anything costume related are posted on these forums though so i thought i'd take a shot and ask this here...

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on creating a 1909-1913 day/tea time kind of hairstyle? Ive looked everywhere online and none of the websites i ve been to explain exactly how to put it up. Ive looked at pictures of kate winslet in her titanic role, and none of them are close-up enough for me to get a grasp on how to do this. The dress im making is similar to her pastel pink-ish sinking dress, or the blue im-flying dress so im looking for something to match those.

Any help would be appreciated ^.^

This website has great information as well as pictures, it's a great site and even has information on curling hair Edwardian era style:

And this one is lovely too:

Sorry for the pop ups, I scanned these hair guides from my 1906-1911 Girls own Annuals and put them up a few years ago. I'm trying to transfer them to my regular site. The Recamier is a very nice hair style indeed.

    Hi Rose Lady,

The hairstyle Rose wore in Titanic were french twists. They curled her hair then sectioned off the top part and twisted the bottom. They then arranged the top loosly to obtain that look.

    Good Luck
