1st Croatian Fan Force Meeting

We have already had this discussion in Welcome Croatia thread. This will only make it official.

So, for now, users that are going are: Slyk1988, FruFru, most probably Darthana and me.

Meeting will be held in city of Rovinj, during the Rovinjska noc festival (Rovinj night festival) in the afternoon on 20th August 2005.
I'll post some more details tomorrow.

 

Sorry I won't make it. I'm so busy at the moment, with the paking and making the final preperetions.

Ako ja i Slyk krecemo u 18 h tamo smo negdje oko 19 h pa bi onda mogao poceti sastanak. Bilo bi spika da bude u starom dijelu grada. Ovisi di ce nas sve FruFru voditi.
Ana mi je javila da nece doci, ali ipak nas ima troje.

1st meeting report


Slyk and I came to Rovinj yesterday afternoon. After a few misunderstandings and wandering around the roads of New Rovinj, we finaly came to a place FruFru was going to meet us.
We were wandering though Rovinj beautiful old streets for some time before we found a nice place by the sea (view on Italian side of Adriatic) to rest. Due to the festival (Rovinjska noc ~ eng = The Rovinj Night) the place was crawling with tourists that it was hard to walk.
It was very fun becouse there were a lot of places with 'live' music.
Star Wars discussions went fine. Strangly, Slyk and I weren't arguing at all.
We met few people from Rovinj. FruFru's ex classmates. Really nice people, though Rovinj slang is really special thing...

When everything seemed that it cannot be more perfect, the storm started. It happened just 10 minutes before the usual Rovinj Night magnificent fireworks.
Firewoks show wasn't cancelled, though, so we watched it for about half an hour.

All in all we had a great time. This was one small step for mad but big for Croatian Fan Force.

I'm very sorry others weren't there. Darthana called me and said she was visiting Igor before he leaves abroad. I hope we'll all meet next time.

~ ...so we went to see St Eufemija, gothic church with a whole graveyard beneath it. We walked near ancient crypts, it was so both spooky and cool.

I must say the pictures came out great.
It's a pity for the storm, it never hapened before (for Rovinjska noc).
The fireworks were great, better than last year I must say.
I'm happy it finally hapened, we were planing it the whole year (last year Amon and Slyk let me down)
Amon sorry again for the handshake (you wanted that to happen in the old part of town). Sorry.
After all it was great to take two best friends around my ex-town.

 

Yeah, it was great.
The best part of the evening was when Slyk promised me he won't annoy Darthana any more. It is a pitty that we haven't recorded that. I bet he'll start bashing A&P as soon as she returns to forums.

Glad you guys had a great time. I've never been to Rovinj, but I heard some very nice things about it.
Me and Ana had also a fun time. We went kamping on Medvednica with our friends from college. I woke up yesterday morning with a 'pijavica' on my shoulder. I don't know how to say it on English. But it was huge, so I guess that it was drinking my blood all night. I was feeling a bit dizzy, but we were drinking medovaca so I was instantly healed.
I'm departing tomorrow afternoon. I was supposed to go in Wednesday, but they have reschedualed (?spell) my flight.

Igor, I and few of our friends from faks (who study in Zagreb) were camping on medvednica. It was great! Igor's friend from P.M.F. (Physics) brought some really good telescope. Another friend got so drunk that she claimed she saw an UFO.

i was in Rovinj last sumer on holiday. it is an beautiful city. this festivals in Rovinj can be extraordinary.

 

Well, the idea behind this is that when there are three meetings by members of the Croatian board, then Croatia will have its own FanForce, which can organise bigger meets.

Also, they started trying to do this mainly because they want to get the FanForce Europe meeting (So people from all over Europe, not just Croatia) held in Zagreb next August. ALthough they need to be an Official Chapter to do this.

 

@kosjenka, of course we'll let you know. I want as many pople as possible to attend the meetings. We still haven't arranged anything for the next meet, but I was thinking Zagreb. i thinks the most people would be able to come there.

For FFE 2006 Meet; I think we are a little late. As I've seen on the official thread, Germany and Spain are taking the lead.

Yeah, but perhaps Croatia could hold an illicit FFE meet for those who can't make Germany or Spain. Or just don't want to go
