2002 Halloween Banner Contest Guidelines

With Halloween fast approaching, we want to celebrate it with everyone JC style.

It gives us great pleasure to announce the JC 2002 Halloween Banner contest!

We are taking submissions for a Halloween themed banners from Sunday, September 29 until Thursday, October 24. We're opening the contest up to anyone and everyone.

There will be just ONE winner, chosen by a panel of undead moderators. The winning theme will be applied across the whole JC (not including FanForce boards) between Sunday October 27 and Sunday November 3 2002 - our week of Halloween Festivities.

We are not going to announce the winner prior to October 27 - you will just have to log in to see the winning design on that day.

You can post your entries publically in this thread for advice or suggestions. Send your final entry links to Carter via PM.

Only one banner submission per user, and there are no limitations on the image content (keeping it all family friendly and within TFN policies of course). But since it's for a JC special occasion, obviously we would love to see ones full of Star Wars / Halloween imagery.

The winner gets to design themselves a Halloween Themed Icon that they can use for the week that their banner is up. They will be VIP'd and given a title. The winner will also receive a [link=http://www.theforce.net/profiles/carter/tfn_tshirt.jpg]TFN T-Shirt[/link].

So, get cracking and let's see what you can all do. :)

Thats wrong. Carter said he was going to distort my curve when mine didn't match his dimensions, so for the sake of the participants, they should all know what he expects it to be.

69 x 67 pixels.


I don't know if I will be entering this one. I'm kinda looking ahead to the 3SA's next contest.

69 x 69 for the curve is the new dimension. I changed it to prevent confusion. As long as the image fades off, it's fine. Yours didn't which is why I asked you to adjust yours. And I never said I was going to distort it.

Whatever font works best with your design.

 

Whatever you want it to be. Be creative, pick something that has a Halloween feel to it.

 

Whew, crankin' up old hally now, huh? I can't wait. October is my favorite month for two reasons, number one, my birthday, number two, halloween. I could just tricker treat all night long, in fact i have done that before. I can't beleve i dressed up as Princess Leia in a metal bakini last year...

Actually, it was a paper bakini i drew on myself. [face_surprised]

It faded just fine. But it didn't match LMM's banner's dimensions, and we couldn't have one banner differ by 2 pixels. What would the neighbors think?!

Halloween, huh? Well, this sounds like fun, and here's a whopper for you, i have this cousin that has the same birthday as my grandma, and if that isn't weird enough, my birthday is on the same days as his grandma. My birthday is october 12 while my (deceased ) grandma is on halloween. But their both nice and everything, so.

 

Can the un-named colored people stop their childish bickering? Dankee!

I was wondering, when you guys get the new banner logo up, are you going to change the layout of the boards for halloween, too?I mean like diffrent colored user names, forum links, ect like you did for St. Patrick's Day and Valintines Day? It'd be awesome. The valentines day made me hungry for marshmellows.
