** 2003 Halloween Banner Contest - Closed for Voting! **

With Halloween fast approaching again, we want to celebrate it with everyone JC style. Last year was a lot of fun, and we think we can outdo those high standards if we all put our souls into it.

It gives us great pleasure to announce the JC 2003 Halloween Banner contest!

We are taking submissions for a Halloween themed banners from Monday, September 8 until Wednesday, October 22. We're opening the contest up to anyone and everyone.

There will be just ONE winner, chosen by a panel of undead moderators. The winning theme will be applied across the whole JC (not including FanForce boards) between 10 PM board time on Saturday October 25 to Sunday night November 2 - our week of Halloween Festivities.

We are not going to announce the winner prior to October 25 - you will just have to log in to see the winning design on that day.

You can post your entries publically in this thread for advice or suggestions. Send your final entry links to Gandolf the Grey via PM.

Only one banner submission per user please, and there are no limitations on the image content (keeping it all family friendly and within TFN policies of course). But since it's for a JC special occasion, obviously we would love to see ones full of Star Wars / Halloween imagery.

The winner gets to design themselves (or have designed for them) a personal Halloween Themed Icon that they can use for the week that their banner is up. They will also be VIP'd and given a title.

So, get cracking and let's see what you can all do. :)

Just a question, why'd you use an old JC Banner for example?

2002 Halloween Banner Contest Guidelines

 

THIS was my entry last year.

Needless to say I'll have another go this time round and needless to say it will be a HUGE improvement.

Sweeeet! I've started and scrapped a design already. Time to flex those creative muscles.

I just hope the color scheme is better than last year's. The banner was awesome but the color scheme hurt.

 

The bloody color scheme was cool
And sine they fixed the holes in the smileys, even they won't look that bad. I'm all for more blood on this board again

 

I already have a color scheme ready to go which is orange, black and dark red. But nothing like Kadue's scheme from last Halloween. The text area is whitesmoke background and it will be easy to read people's posts.

My scheme is not necessarily the one that will be used. I just went ahead and threw one together as a draft. Always leaning forward.

I personally liked last years, as it went along with my RPG on the Role Playing Forums. However, these are all coming along great and look forward to seeing a completed banner up around the time of my birthday.

 

Can i show a decapitated 2-1B in my banner? NO you cant...we all love 2-1B
