I've been toying around with many different Holiday Banner concepts and haven't come up with anything I like. I'd like to keep away from the Hoth theme as that was done last year and most of the banners already submitted have been using that.

If anyone has any ideas about what should be on a "different" Holiday banner, I would really appreciates some suggestions about what I could do.

yodahs-daddy : Like how you've done the snow, looks real! The Santa Hats of Mace and Palpatine look weird like that. Perhaps each of them should have different hats? I know there are a lot of Santa Hat pics out there on the internet.
flying_fishi : Looking good so far! I'd see about getting a different Leia picture on there, the blue lighting makes her look a lot different from Luke and Padme. Love the penguin!
nashira : Really nice banner! I like all the Christmas Images you've used. Interesting inclusion of the Holliday Special Singer ( ) but as FM101 said, she doesn't fit the look of the banner. The Curve Image could do redoing.
Kinobe : Your banner looks absolutely fabulous! I'm not sure about Yoda and Anakin's Santa Hats... don't seem right to me. I'd move the AT-AT back because if you look at it on a 1024 x 768 resolution you see a little Santa Hat on sitting on this head thing that you can't really work out. Just looks weird. Other than those things, Great Work!
GabeC : I guess its inevitible that different banners made by the same person will end up looking similiar but the similarities between your Hollidays and YJCC banner are amazing! Better hope they don't both win, then people wouldn't know when it was Christmas. Seriously, very good job on the both of them. Great concept!

dArTh_wenley-thanks for the comments. Your's looks great! The only thing is that Anakin's head kinda sticks out strange in the curve area.

regarding the curve on my banner, do you know of an easy way to get a border on a curve? I haven't figured a way out, other than manually, which is why it's crappy right now.

edit-and I think I'll move the rudolph-tauntaun over to replace the singer.

 

wenley your banner is awesome - I thought I was actually in a forum! but I have to agree with nashira on the Anakin curve thing great job though!

nashira In photoshop from layers--> layer-style---> choose stroke you can do this by right clicking on the layer too - if you have used Flaming Sword's tutorial (using the eraser tool)there should be no problem

 

ah....I didn't know you could stroke an edge that doesn't already have a path. Thanks!



well, that wasn't working well, either. My solution? Take out the curve. I also edited the background. banner
