    lol.

    Even a 1978 5c is worth $20

I have a 1972 5c and I'm keeping it as my lucky 5... though the size of the new 50c can replace it as a lucky 50 cause it's so small.

another example of ya just don't know what somethings worth till its gone.
we banked hundreds of old silver coins last month, chances are there were some rarities in there. I have kep a few for nostalgia, on of each coin from 1980 (my year of birth) plus some really old ones.

Some of them are actually 'worth' that much money as bizarre as it sounds.

I think maybe it's the 1994 or 2004 (can't remember) 5c coin that is worth about $150 as there were bugger all of them made so it's very rare, but i don't collect coins so i too think it's a waste of money.

Some people have more dollars than sense :D

Yeah, I know - as I posted in the opener.

But my point above is that normal, common 5c pieces (that are worth... 5c) are also being bought on trademe for stupid sums of money.
