    -re-do the pastel lake gown
    -arwen's mourning gown from TTT
    -Episode three handmaiden gown
    -flame handmaided gown

Good luck to everyone in the coming year, and great job on completing things!

    Upcoming projects list:

    For me:
    Finish X-Wing pilot uniform
Sith lightsaber re-build (EL conversion, see below)
    Finish Sith outfit
    Jedi robes/outfit
    Sith belt and Jedi belt

    For my wife:
New green Jedi outer robe (suedecloth)
    Payne from Final Fantasy X-2
    Naboo pilot uniform
    Custom lightsaber build
    New Jedi belt

    For my daughters:
    Jedi outfits
    Custom sabers

The Sith saber rebuild will be fun. I have a Creative Force saber I picked up at Dragoncon a couple years ago that I'm basically scrapping, using the emitter and rebuilding the body of the saber and adding an EL blade.

Miscellaneous projects include a Hasbro blaster conversion (one of the orange blasters), playing with my Kellogg's clone trooper helmet (reinforcing/cleaning up) and making a display box for my sabers.

Let's see what I set out to do in my post in 2003 costume projects

    1. Jedi Tunic: Figured that my old one was not too bad, after all.
    2. Jedi Belt, with Obi-Wan-style buckle: Done
    3. Jedi Belt Pouch: Sculpted in clay and cast in latex, instead of sewn in leather as I had planned.
    4. Coleman Trebor's head: given up on that project, will do another alien(s)
    5. Luke's ROTJ lightsaber: Became a custom.
    6. Custom Saber for Luuke's contest: I finished the saber and won. :D
    7. Custom Blaster: still at 90% done. Wooden handgrip and a repaint are planned ...
    8. More lightsabers: I did not finish any more sabers

    9. Gandalf The White: Done (forum post)
    10. Fellowship cloak pin: I engraved two from aluminum. Given to two fellow cosplayers who dressed up as Merry and Pippin. My mom got to see one of them, and she wanted me to make one for her too ... but I made her a hair pinin the same style.

    Other things I have made:
    * Zabrak horns (forum post, no pics)
    * Jedi boots. Glued pieces of vinyl to an old pair of shoes.

    2004 Costume projects
    * Two stunt lightsabers for a fan film. One for a Jedi, the other for a Sith.
    * A lightsaber for the 2004 Custom Lightsaber Contest (of course)
    * Some alien makeup/mask ... maybe
    * An Obi-Wan TPM lightsaber. 80% done since May last year. Lacks pommel, anodizing and greebles.
    * Asajj Ventress twin sabers, in the box seen in the Clone Wars cartoon.
I will also experiment with electronics for glowing blades and sound. I have a few crazy ideas. ;)

    Finished 2003 projects:

    --Arwen Chase coat
    --Nazgul
    --various components for Leia costumes
--work on Padme Purple Senate Gown with my friend Laura

    For 2004:

--2-4 SW Extended Universe Character costumes on commission
--various Leia costume work across the board
    --possible Emperor (ROTJ)
    --various Solo costume work
    --Leia/Han prop work
--various Padme costume work with Laura (3 costumes so far, including the purple senate gown

It doesn't seem much at first glance, but this is just a general list. And admittedly, 2003 was an awful year for me in terms of costuming for myself (it's amazing how the basic facets of life can really suck you down), but I am optimistic that 2004 will be better (not that I have too much choice--C3 is just around the corner!).

    Happy New Year! :)

Right now I only have two projects planned for 2004. Both are expensive and time consuming, so I don't see much else happening.

    * Full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume
    * Biker Scout (I just got my armor!)

I'll probably end up having to do some Harry Potter stuff, too.

Well, since I actually *did* make some worthwhile things in 2003 and have plans for more:

    2003
    • "Inspired by" version of Arwen's Requiem gown for Homecoming 2003, also worn for the Silver Leaf Renaissance Faire

    • Generic formal for Junior-Senior 03

    • Random linen blouse with bullion rose embroidery

    • Eowyn's Refugee outfit for my sister to wear to the ROTK premiere

    • Picked apart, re-purposed, embellished, and otherwise cannibalized the Arwen formal to make a more accurate version for the ROTK premiere. Wore it to the premiere, not quite finished, and have since picked the unfinished trim off and am completing it.

    • Hobbit costume for my dad, still in progress

    • Brown wraparound skirt for everyday wear

    Plans for 2004
    • Frodo's frock coat, meant for everyday wear--materials already purchased

    • Female hobbit costume, parts of which can be worn to faire or for mundane wear--materials already purchased

    • Tan linen dress--material purchased

    • American Girl picnic dress, begun but put on hold for other things

    • I liked Frodo's Grey Havens coat so much I might make that too, if the style turns out to suit me once I make his Fellowship coat.

There's definitely more in the works for 2004, but a long list is overwhelming (to me, anyhow, 8-}), and I have to dash--dropping my sister off for a New Years all-nighter with her fellow summer-camp-counselor friends. Only downside is it's an hour and a half away...anyway, Happy New Years, everyone!

    2004 Planned:

    Happy New Years, everyone!

    Ok, for 2003 I made:

    - Little Girls' Pink and Yellow dresses

    - Ranger Cape and Vest

    - Sheild Maiden Vest and Green Dress

    - My Wedding gown Bustle

For 2004, I want to make:

    - the Padme white Tatooine dress/cape (have the material - this will be my first project of 2004)

    - the Pastel Lake Dress (I have the chiffon and absolutely no idea how to dye it :) )

    - a female Ranger costume for my sister

    - a green elfin gown for my sister (have the material)

    - a wedding gown and veil either like a St. Pucchi one or Padme's

    - a leatherette skirt for my sister in law (I'll use the same material as in the Ranger vest from 2003)

    - dress up outfits for my 3 little nieces

    - a Yoda robe for my Big friend George

I am usually very slow because I like to fold up seams to make them pretty on the inside, but I got a serger for Christmas!!! Woohoo! So, I may actaully be able to speed up a bit and get a few of these costumes done! I can't wait to get started. ;)

I'd been kind of a slacker in 2003.

I finished a Smuggler costume that I wore at Dragon*Con, including bib shirt, custom belt, blaster and holster.

    EL bladed "lightdagger".

New Jedi belt and Sith belt. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jediloreen/detail?.dir=/Leather+Work&.dnm=Jedi+and+Sith+Belts.jpg

I was busy working a lot of overtime, so I only had the time, during most of the year, to make EL blades and kits to sell to others, once I perfected my own construction method, which took a few months to figure out.

Then at the end of the year, I made my Sith belt, and some custom pouches that I have yet to take pics of.

    2004 projects:
    New Jedi tunic and tabards.

I'm working on what I hope will be a somewhat unique Sith outfit. I'm not making a "traditional" tunic. I'll probably wear a turtle neck, or another black top, underneath a long vest, maybe padded at the shoulders, because I'm designing some 3-piece, articulated leather pauldrons to go with it. And a set of bracers.
I'll also be making a short, collared cape, instead of a robe, when I get my darned sewing machine fixed.

Hopefully, my Nomi Sunrider costume that I already have the fabric for.

And I'm working, here and there, on my screen accurate X-Wing costume that I hope to have finished by CIII in 2005. Almost got my custom paint job on my helmet finished. I've been collecting parts for the last year. Screen accurate belt buckle, and side insertion locks for the flak vest. A nice set of machined aluminum arm tools.

I'm sure, like others are, that more projects will come up, as I think of them. Or as people see what I've made and ask me to make something for them. I've already had some inqiries about some custom leather work, though I'm still fairly new at the craft.
