Thanks for the information, darc. ;)

I wish we had better Hall of Fame figures than those.......like Ree-Yees, TC-14, or other figures that were harder to find.

Also, that Clone Wars deluxe 1A, 1B, 1C stuff is inaccurate because I've never found a deluxe case with different colored Clone armies.....each case had two of the same color.

I agree with PM about the Hall of Fame figures. I understand the need to get figures of main characters out there, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to throw in a few of the harder to find figures in there as well for the collectors who already got most these main character toys the first time around and want to fill the rare figure holes in their collections.

Hmm...I thought I had an accurate source on the colors...I added it at the last minute though, I'll remove it in the next version.

I agree on the HOF. I'm very unimpressed. But at the same time it looks like they're going to settle on a "definitive" version for a lot of characters...which will keep them on the pegs while Hasbro does more obscure characters for us in the next year.

    I like obscure figures. :)

When they say "Hall of Fame" I get the impression of Hasbro's most well-done figures that collectors favor.....the ones that everyone agree on as being the best....like Ephant Mon, Coleman Trebor, Princess Leia as Jabba's Prisoner. THOSE are hall of famers....not the same figures we've been getting the past few months as repacks. The Hall of Fame wave is basically just repacks of repacks.

True, they could've given it a better name.

But they've got a nice assortment of characters for the kids (and decent versions of each)...if they did change the lineup (from what they've already been repacking) then they wouldn't be left over for the kids. Since there are guys like me (who didn't collect POTJ or POTF2) who have been buying the repacks as quick as they come out already.

This way next year I'll just leave them there for the kiddies. So long as they don't flood the pegs with HOF to the point that there's no room for the regular waves (and all the good, obscure figures we desire) I'm not going to worry to much.

But yeah, it could use a better name, there's nothing "famous" about those toys...though there is something "famous" about the classic looks of all of those characters.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing:

Super deluxe versions of certain figures (we'll use Tatooine Luke as an example) that have been released multiple times.

They could combine a Flashback Luke with Commtech Luke's legs (for more articulation) and then add in all the accessories that have been included with every other version in the past.

The Ultimate Luke could include a lightsaber, rifle, blast helmet, T-16 model, scraper (from CT Luke), poncho, macrobinoculars, grappling hook gun (from the 1995 version) stormtrooper belt, Imperial blaster. Maybe add in other accessories- blue milk cup, for instance.

Actually, Luke is really the only figure I can think of for that type of line. I think Tatooine Luke has had the most iterations.

I guess it's not really a good idea after all. Sorry, brain is trying to go to sleep on me.

Man, I love this thread, it just saved me having to type out quite a list of figures in the The Action figure Locator Thread. ;)

Bump, and up to the top of the forums with you little thread!

And now time for a much needed update. Since 2003 is behind us, I have dropped it off the list. It's time to look forward. Well, mostly forward, since Hasbro decided to release the first "2004" waves pre-Christmas.

I haven't changed the format from last year. Italics are still used to show when a figure is first released. The term "re-issue" means the figure has been previously released in different packaging and/or under a different name. A "re-issue" figure in italics marks the first appearance of the new packaging/name.

So, without further ado, the first all 2004 list...

    BASIC FIGURES:

    --Wave 1A (Hoth / new)
    3x Achk Med-Beq - Coruscant Outlander Club
2x Hoth Trooper - Hoth Evacuation
3x Imperial Dignitary Kren Blista-Vinee - Death Star Procession
2x Luke Skywalker - Hoth Attack
    2x R-3PO - Hoth Evacuation

    --Wave 1B (Hoth / catch-up)
2x Aayla Secura - Battle of Geonosis (re-issue)
    2x Ashla & Jempa - Jedi Padawans (re-issue)
2x Barriss Offee - Battle of Geonosis (re-issue)

1x Hoth Trooper - Hoth Evacuation
2x Luke Skywalker - Hoth Attack
    1x R-3PO - Hoth Evacuation
    2x Yoda & Chian - Padawan Lightsaber Training (re-issue)

    --Wave 1C (catch-up)
    2x Anakin Skywalker - Secret Ceremony (re-issue)
2x Boba Fett - Pit of Carkoon (re-issue)

2x Darth Vader - Throne Room Duel
2x Han Solo - Hoth Rescue (either "brown coat" version or "blue coat" re-issue)
2x Luke Skywalker - Throne Room Duel
2x Snowtrooper - The Battle of Hoth

    2x Luke Skywalker - Jabba's Palace
    2x R1-G4 - Tatooine Transaction

Wow, there really aren't any Episode II figures on the horizon. Not that I'm complaining - there are already 70 or so and my AOTC display is fast filling up.

Also, if anyone would like a complete (and corrected) list of all of the waves from last year just let me know.

I'll probably wind up cleaning it up for myself anyway, but no point in posting it if there isn't any interest.

Thanks a lot for the update, darc. These waves are looking good. Considering that there were about 16 waves last year, this list should take us almost halfway through 2004. The're looking good though. Looks like Sail Barge R2 will only be appearing in one wave. Towards the end of the year they'll likely do what they did last year and have more catch-up waves on the newer figures... maybe during the time when the Vintage-style figures are coming out.

I wouldn't be so sure about that being the entire first half of the year PM.

First, Hasbro is considering those first three waves as the same wave...just three different assortments. It's kinda kooky, but they were all launched at the same time.

Second, those three were launched in 2003 rather than 2004.

Third, in recent news articles Hasbro is referring to the "Star Destroyer" and "Battle of Endor" waves as Spring 2004 waves. Now that I look back over the news articles they're also calling those Waves 5 & 6...so I guess they're not numbering the "Hall of Fame" wave. I'll have to double check that before the next list.

All told that means 3 "2004" waves in 2003 and at least 6 waves in the first half of 2004.

As far as I'm concerned, that's nothing but good news. ;)

I really hope Hasbro squeezes a few Concept Stormtroopers into a future wave this year, I only saw that one once and had to leave it behind as the figure had a horrible pain job... :(

It's funny how the Fan Choice figure have gone from pegwarms (Ellorrs Madak & Amanaman) to next to impossible to find figures (Ephant Mon & McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper), makes me wonder which category Captain Antilles will fall into when he's released later in the year? ?[face_plain]

I think it depends on whether our boy Antilles is included in more than one wave, Mr. Neck.

If he is, then he should be pretty easy to find...but I doubt he'll be a pegwarmer either, stores simply aren't carrying enough stock on the shelves for that anymore.

If he's not, and that first wave is the only chance to get him...then he just might go the way of Ephant & Concept Stormie.

Or maybe not...Ephant was huge (literally and figuratively), attracting people who might otherwise have not picked him up based on his sheer size, not to mention the scalpers...and the McQuarrie Trooper is being bought in multiples by some army building collectors out there, making him more scarce than he might otherwise be.

So it's possible he might be just another figure, no harder to find than any others, but not exactly a sure thing either.

As for your Concept Stormtrooper making a second showing...Hasbro originally had him in the assortments for what I think became 2004's Wave 1C and then changed it. There have also been mentions (by Hasbro reps at times) that Ephant Mon might be rereleased, and it hasn't happened yet. So it's not looking very hopeful there.

Eeth: He's in the Yavin wave. I have no idea why, but he is. [face_plain]

I feel for you, Neck. I'm looking for a Concept Stormtrooper myself but I've only run into that wave once, and that was after they took the Concept Stormie. I don't know why Hasbro only packed him in one wave. I would have thought that they'd have learned their lesson with Ephant Mon. :(
