?What in the galaxy?? is heard from the back of the auditorium in Bail Organa?s voice. ?You can?t do that Palpatine!?


The lights flash on and off in a pattern designed to create the subliminal message: You will vote for Palpatine.


Not to be outdone by the lighting master, Bail uses his power as sound system master to say over and over again, ?Don?t vote for Palpatine; he?s a sith lord! Vote Bail Organa for Chancellor,?

Qui-Gon started to brush his hand along the soft cheek but the child flinched back, the unconscious panic plain at the simple gesture. Withdrawing once more, he murmured, "I promise that he won't hurt them or you ever again. But I need to know, young one."

Swallowing hard, his eyes begging for understanding, Ben replied, "I...I was six when he started. So I guess it's been about three... umm... years."

For the first few days, no one had bothered to offer any condolences. But when they started, they came like the waterfall, crashing down over Aalto's head and threatening to drown him in unwanted pity. Master Yoda's words had not helped at all - some drivel about anger, grief, and dark thoughts. The only person he thought genuinely cared was his master, who, on the day Bruck died, had laid a comforting hand on his shoulder and had spoken volumes with an understanding look.

Aedan grinned. ?And what do you call that?? he asked as they calmly watched Kale push Obi-Wan off an overhanging branch into the water. Laughing, only to be yanked off himself by a quick tug at the Force.

?Applied Force manipulation, of course,? Qui-Gon said with unassailable logic. The two masters laughed and settled back to enjoy their books. Only to find out that two mischievous apprentices and a bit of questionable Force use could make a wave of water travel quite a bit further than they had anticipated.

 

Another hard choice!!
