This is an invitation from the 501st NER, (Northeast Remnant). If you would like to attend, you're all welcome.

    Hello Friends,
My name is Chris DelVecchio and I'm the Assistant Administrator of
TheJawa.com and the founder of the New Jersey Star Wars Collectors
Club. The reason I am writing is to see if your Garrisions would be
interested in appearing at the 2004 Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday
October 3rd at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ. I wasn't sure
which Garrision had juristiction (I guess you can say) over South
Jersey so I'm writing to both of you.

On July 25th of this year, my 4 year old son, Christopher was
diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. I'm sure you heard of it but may
not be aware that while it can be controlled, there is no cure for
Diabetes and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is working
extremely hard to find a cure. This has a huge effect on a lot of
young children and is very traumatic for them to have to get 4
finger pricks and 2-4 shots a day just to stay alive. My son is
already a huge Star Wars fan (although Dinosaurs are at the top of
his food chain right now) and several of the walkers and donors are
members of the NJSWCC and Jawa.com Community forums. I know he would
be very excited to see Stormtroopers watching over him (OK, I
admit...I would like to see Stormtroopers too!).

I had already mentioned to the event's organizers about requesting
you guys making an appearance but haven't heard back from them yet
but also didn't wanna speak for you guys and promise to attend. So,
I'm not sure how you guys would go about this (that is if your were
interested and are able to attend).

And if you would to read my son's personal story, you may do so here-
    http://walk.jdrf.org/index.cfm?
    fuseaction=extranet.personalpage&confirmid=85822716

I hope this isn't short notice and hope one of your Garrisions would
be able to attend this event.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration,

    Chris DelVecchio

I lurk around and haven't post in a LONG time but saw this. I guess its obvious(by the username) that I am the person behind this and wanna thank you guys for getting the word out.

If you guys are interested and haven't already done so, you are more than welcome to join our team- Team Chrisosaurus Rex(like I said above- the Dinos just rule right now in my son's world). I'm almost 100% positive the organizers will be providing Breakfast and Lunch (and drinks during the walk) for all registered walkers. And also, anyone who joins the team will receive a Team shirt AND be registered for a Special Star Wars prize(but for the last two, I would need an accurate count by registering on the above link.

Again, Thank you so much for your interest in getting the word out! We REALLY APPRECIATE it!

Anyone else interested in helping out? I'm sure there's ways of helping that don't involve a costume.

Herb, you could dress up like Barney. He's a dinosaur. LOL!!
