You're welcome electrakitty. Hey, how did you go finding ears? Any luck?

I didn't get around to casting my own ears, which I plan to do at some point. I just bought Woochie's small space ears, painted them to more or less match my skin, and covered them with my hair. It worked ok. I still have spirit gum in my hair though :) I also haven't finished my foot wigs, which I plan to do soon as well.

That sounds like it'll be fun... although, spirit gum in the hair is no fun :( That stuff is awful sometimes.

Woops, I just realised that I haven't contributed any links to my projects for this year... so here goes....

I made myself Hufflepuff Robes, and helped my friend make Gryffindor Quiddich robes too.

I finally finished my Jedi Robes, which I keep improving and changing my mind on the colour scheme. lol At least I have a stunt saber now that I can duel with :)

I also made a Sith Robe for my boyfriend.

With what's left of the year, I'll probably work on improving my jedi costume. I made my own belt from scratch, but I'm going to make another one and some pouches soon :) I may get some time to make some other bits and pieces, but I doubt it. Too much to do between now and Christmas (including a little sewing for others).

as promised..here are all the costumes I made this month.
    in one picture.
    [image=http://usera.imagecave.com/bridget/HPIM0722.JPG]
front row (just in case, you can't tell...):
han solo --> anh ceremonial leia --> padme --> aayla...
    back row:
really bad last minute "hey you're coming too?" count dooku --> anakin
    I was padme...the corset...yeah.

what made me sad though, is it rained, so aayla's makeup got really messed up...and the lekku started to pull back...water weight...
but, then this is a shot I thought was badass....my boyfriend's little sister as aayla.
    [image=http://usera.imagecave.com/bridget/HPIM0718.JPG]

again, these are the first actual costumes I've ever made....so be nice.
hopefully, I'll get better pictures, and post them up too.
hope you all had a great halloween

Unfortunately, I did not get to "do" any Halloween events aside from working. I did wear a different costume to work everyday for the past 2 weeks. It ended up raining here when I got off work on Monday. I was of course wearing a costume.

(11/1 & 11/2)are the big discount days at work. I had been staving off making any more purchases until this sale where our employee discount is honored on top of the half-price off everything. Couple that with several bonuses I received in the form of merchandise cards --- well, I did both my holiday shopping AND purchased key pieces to future costumes I would like to make.

I did pick up one Star Wars prop that I can always use, an FX lightsaber.

The rest of the pieces will be for various fantasy & horror applications with some fantactic masks, hands, weapon parts, and LOADS of make-up.

Hmmmmm. Now I need to find an other job were I can wear costumes to work, work on costumes or design costumes.

goes perfectly with the new ep III dvd....and battlefront II game...
    :D
originally I went to get the new darth vader unleashed action figure...but they were sold out...oh well. the lightsaber is better anyway...

yesterday was a good day, I'd say

I know it is late in the year to start a costume project, but I want to get started on DD06 early since I live in NZ.

    For Dragon*COn 2006, I am making 4 costumes:
    Padme Green Velvet Robe
    Tatooine 'Poncho' Gown
    Arwen Chase Gown
    Eowyn Refugee Gown with Coat

I am not sure of the 2nd, due to the fact that it does involves alot of embroidery, and I am not good at it....

You can kind of see why I am starting so early with this, because I have to do quite a bit of work...

    Projects I've finished this year...

    Clone Wars Purple Diamonds
Custom EU Jedi (for a friend)
    Luke alterations (for a friend)
    AOTC Black Corset Dress
2 Snow Bunny Capes (working on a third now)
    Femme Tie Undersuit (hand sewn)
Femme Tie Pirate Boot spats (hand Sewn)
    Eowyn Sheildmaiden
ANH Senate Leia (costume and belt)
Purple Dupioni party dress for a wedding (never wore it though)
Sleepless Nights Gown (with heirloom trim - dyed to match)

To do (for 2006 as well)...
Wedding Dress - My most time consuming project
MOH's Dress (Yellow or peach satin)
    Blue Poncho (have materials)
Purple Ilum Conewars dress (starting gathering materials)
Black Kissy dress (Started gathering materials)

I'll leave it at that for now, my wedding dress is top priority at the moment, followed by my Maid of Honor's dress.

I found a place with great kissy dress lace in white and black for $8/yd at 58" wide. My favorite trim shop is seeing if she can get me a big black peice for the middle of the 'belt' :)

I found the perfect color (after searching for about a year) purple velvet for the Ilum dress. I was looking for something blueish purple with a touch of grey - and I found it :D I think I may follow suite with S.S. and use a satin for the skirt and sleeve decorations. Either that or a silk.

Wow, the only things completed from my list were:

    Ysanne Isard
    Elasti-Girl aka Mrs. Incredible

I would add my Jawa project to the list, but I probably won't get started on it until the beginning of December, thus leaking over into 2006. Then, I'll think of other projects for 2006. Maybe I'll finally get Harley Quinn done.

It's so frustrating because it's a costume I've wanted to do for years, but kept putting it off.

    ohhhh, thats an Idea!!!
I work at the Movie Theatre in My town and I am helping with the Middnight screening on the 24th for Harry P. I might make a quick with-a-budget costume for then, before I continue with my others

Dont worry, I only work until 12am so I still get to see the film...

I only managed to finish one really slap-dash costume and one fairly slap-dash costume all year (renfaire and fanfilm, respectively), not counting the renfaire costume I helped my wife with. :( What a horrible costuming year this has been!!

I'm planning to make a fresh start and get a good jump on my Luke ROTJ before new year, then I'll do my ultra cool doublet design for next year's renfest before July and try to squeeze in a Green Lantern costume before Halloween.

Speaking of which, I need to hit the gym so I can look good in spandex. ;)

    I did have fun.
Thank you for noticing the pic Sola, I guess no one else had.
It was tough, but, you can definitely see that they're not perfect, but as I said these are the first full costumes I've ever made. Never really had the confidence to make stuff like this, just bags and whatnot.

I got inspired by episode III, and thought well, "since the saga is finished, why not celebrate by having characters spanning the enitre saga...?"

The girl who dressed up as leia was my assistant kinda... I taught her how to do a few things...like sew on zippers and hem things.

But thank you for saying something about my costumes, I plan to make more sometime soon...and slowly but surely they'll improve.

    <3 thanks!

Hmm I need some help. I want to create Luke Skywalkers costume from Return Of The Jedi.

    [image=http://www.jedi-academy.com/film/luke_salute.jpg]

I got some info from this site but all it does is tell me the materials to use, it says nothing about how to create the clothes from the materials (Except the belt)

    http://www.jedi-academy.com/jedi_cloak_vest.html

Any sites that will tell me how to sew, measurment help and basically a guide on how to make one?

Thank you very much.....They took various amounts of time...Arwen the longest about a couple of months because I had to make the sleeve fabric from scratch, and all the beading seemed to take forever....On average I'd say about three weeks solid work....
