Advanced Wars DS. Or Resident Evil 4.

For all systems other then the DS it seems like a rut of a year.

To be honest, most of the games that came out this year didn't impress me much, but I'm sure Burnout Revenge will do well in the racing category.

Meh, this was kind of a mediocre year for games. If they hadn't delayed Twilight Princess, it would have taken the cup for sure.

    Thus far:

    DS: Advance Wars: Dual Strike
    GC: Resident Evil 4
    PS2: God of War
    PSP: Burnout Legends
    PC: Battlefield 2
    XBX: Forza Motorsport
    MC: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

    Overall: Resident Evil 4

Of course some of these will change by the end of the year. Unless RE4 sucks on the PS2 it will be moved to Multi-console and there are games coming out that could surpass these.

Did you eat paint chips as a kid? Battlefront barely worked as a game, and now in a year when we've had Devil May Cry 3, God of War, Splinter Cell Chaos theory, 2 new Fire Emblems, Advanced Wars DS, and Resident ******* EVIL 4, you think thats a GOTY of the year contender?

    How do you feed yourself?

For me I have to give major shouts to

Resident Evil 4, Guild Wars and Football Manager.

However with the impending arrival of

Black and White 2 and F.E.A.R I believe there may still be some competition

Either RE4 or God of War as of right now. I'm leaning ever so slightly to God of War, but both were superb.

Soontir-Fel, I love you! You say some things that I want to say but dont have to worry about saying them because you'll do that for me. Let me say what you just said and I get called a LA basher. People and their damn double standards today, I swear....

But yeah, Liberty City Stories while may not get overall GOTY, I do see it as getting PSP Game of the Year and possibly (if there is a category) Handheld Game of the Year.

Guild Wars. Great single player and multiplayer content. New content was also added free of charge. Great replayability. The game dosen't just do one thing thing well but many things well and caters to a variety of playstyles.

Haven't played it yet but WOW seems like a contender aswell. Following all the talk I've been hearing about it throughout the year. Waits for the poor gamers to show up and whine about how any game that has a monthly fee must suck. :p All in all a game like WOW or even GW brings more to the table than a game like SC: CHaos Theory or RE4, IMO.

    Battlefront 2

    Not really.

    Guild Wars

And ummm isn't Advent Rising more of a movie than a game?

God of War is truly amazing, I agree... but for me, it was just one of those "one time" games. After I beat it, I didn't really feel the urge to play through it again... of course this is just my opinion, but I'm posting this because I also wondered a few months ago whether or not I liked God of War more than Resident Evil 4. My final decision is... no. RE4 just keeps on giving. I've played through it multiple times, saving cash for things like the infinite launcher, Chicago Typewriter, etc., and there are many way to handle every situation you get in. It's almost like a new experience everytime.
