--stories with a new post falling between June 1, 2006 and May 31, 2007

[b]New Authors:[/b]

To be eligible for the New Author award, authors must have posted their first story post in any era between June 1, 2006 and May 31, 2007.

[b]Stories/authors ineligible for nomination include[/b]:

--Stories that have won the same award in a previous awards season, for the same story or the same character (see the Fanfic Index for a detailed list of all previous winners)
--Reposts of any story beginning outside the eligibility dates
--Authors who have already won the "Best Author" award

I did have a question... Did we get official eligibility dates for nominated fics? I don't recall seeing them if we did...

I may getting short sighted already, but what I can't find is where the rules, list of categories, other important dates about the fics in the game (you know, fics updated between the dates so and so...) are. Can somebody help me?

 

Fear not--all of that will be coming up in an Awards FAQ that will be coming out sometime today/early tomorrow. It is still being made understandable. Check back soon and all that info will be put in, but we wanted everyone to know the hosts and schedules first so they can start getting ready while we put the finishing touches on everything else.

Aww, I was just sticking all the dates into my iCal when I realised I probably won't be able to hang around for the Before Awards ceremony. I'm volunteering at this year's SIGGRAPH (big fat international computer graphics conference) and I fly out on the day of the ceremony. Sadness, sweeping over the land.

These awards are fun, I don't think I've get one of the awards but who knows.

 

Oh goodie! Awards season! *starts compiling personal shortlists*

One question though, are we allowed to nominate story that are written by overseers and/or hosts?

 

As far as I know the overseers' stories can not be nominated and the hosts' stories can not be nominated in the era that they are hosting.



Ah...I've got s bit of an uncertanty concerning the Best Child catagory that I'd like to clear up. Is a "child" character considered to be any character under the age of 18 or is there another age limit....?
