Hey everyone. I know a few of us are hardcore into fantasy baseball, as well as other fantasy sports. Well Yahoo's fantasy baseball site is going live today sometime very soon. I am going to make an official 2007 JC Fantasy Baseball league for the hardcore fantasy baseball owners among us. Once the site goes live and I have the information, people can send me a PM saying that they want in.

Since the league has now been drafted, and I know there are others of us out there who have more than one fantasy baseball team, I propose this thread be used to give each other fantasy baseball advice and comment on each other's teams and how much we like them and whatnot.

I would keep an eye on Gary Matthews JR. I heard a rumor that he might get limited time this year. But otherwise I dont see anything that stands out to me as an eye watcher.

Myself, on the other hand have a problem. Here's my team.

    C Paul Lo Duca
    1B Derrek Lee
    2B Robinson Cano
    3B Mike Lowell
    SS David Eckstein
    OF Johnny Damon
    OF Raul Ibanez
    OF Juan Rivera
    Uti Chipper Jones

    Coco Crisp
Jorge Cantu (who I'm looking to get rid of)
    Mark Loretta

    SP Justin Verlander
    SP Mark Buehrle
    RP Mariano Rivera
    RP Adam Wainwright
RP Kyle Farnsworth (who might be leaving as well)
    RP Cla Meredith
    RP Jon Rauch

    Mark Mulder
    Nate Robertson

Who can find my problem and tell me how to fix it?

You'll have to fix it yourself, but you need some starting pitching. But I'm sure you knew that :p

Yea, that and the fact that I have too many Yankees on my roster. I usually wait till after the first week of the season to make moves.

Well, Juan Rivera is out for awhile...

You need starting pitching and at least 1 more guaranteed saves-guy. Course, that'll be tough. Scour the waiver wire and keep an eye on who's getting save opportunities. For starting pitching, check to see if any of the florida starters are still available. If you're lucky, you might find a Scott Olsen type.

I like David Eckstein the player, but David Eckstein the fantasy shortstop should not be your starting option. There has got to be something better out there.

I'd plug Jones in at 3rd and then hop on waivers and see if you could find a Ryan Shealy or a Ryan Garko to plug in at Util. Course, i just don't like Mike Lowell. I guess he'll give you decent numbers playing in Fenway, but.....eeeeeeeh.

I do like the Derrek Lee pick. Couldn't believe how low he was ranked. If you ask me, he's an absolute steal where Yahoo has him.

My ESPN.com fantasy team has started off hot, but thats due in large part to having A-Rod on that team. Although that team would still be tied for first in the league in homers even without him. First in runs, HR, RBI, and average, 1 back in steals, and 2nd in strikeouts, wins, and ERA on the pitching side.

    The team:

    C Brian McCann
    1B Justin Morneau
2B Marcus Giles (had Robinson Cano here, but he's off the active roster at least, except for today because Giles is in)
    3B Alex Rodriguez
    SS Edgar Renteria
    OF Grady Sizemore
OF Adam Dunn (who until yesterday or so led the team in steals)
    OF Rocco Baldelli
    Uti Pat Burrell

Robinson Cano (thinking about dropping him for Kelly Johnson, which I almost did earlier today and should have, since KJ went 3-4 with 2 HR, 4 RBI, and 3 runs)
    A.J. Pierzynski

    P Francisco Rodriguez
P Brad Lidge (*wince*... not sure if I want to keep him active or not at this point)
    P Eric Gagne
    P Jonathon Papelbon
    P Daisuke Matsuzaka
P Tom Glavine (just picked him up)

    Jake Peavy
    Dontrelle Willis
    CC Sabathia

    DL Kenny Rogers

Pitching rotation I try to keep up with so that anybody starting a game is in along with as many of those relievers as possibly. Hence Matsuzaka and Glavine are on the starting list today as opposed to the others since they're pitching today (against 2 of my batters apiece, no less)
