It's coming up to that time of the year folks for our christmas party. Jangosmom has offered her place to host this year's party. Come one, Come all!

Food
At the October meeting Debbie kindly offered to provide grub, please be sure to bring some $$$ to contribute. Deb, please let us know if you want us to bring anything extra.

White Bantha Gift Exchange
Same as last year! Each person in attendance should bring a wrapped gift, ideally SW related, up to $10 in value.

On the parade thread, I'd mentioned inviting everyone that participates in the parade to JMs afterward and for each of us to pitch in $5 per person to cover that cost. Nobody disagreed.

We need to get the $$ to Debbie before the first of December. I'm going to try to remember to give it to her at the Carnival this weekend.

 

Oh yeah coolness... I think I got $5 somewhere....

 

This will be my last event as Supreme Chancellor of the IEFF. Tis time I stepped down and passed the torch to someone else. I've done it for 2 1/2 years now and i'm getting less and less time to be able to run the IEFF in the way it deserves, it's only fair that I step aside and let someone else "take the reins"(Christmas themed reference, gold star for me!)

It's been a great two and half years in which time we've gone from a tiny, tiny meeting at a Starbucks to a close nit gang of folks with a passion for all things fun in life!!!

I'll still be around though as a regular member!

I'll start a thread for new elections after the Christmas party, with the next generation of IEFF leader to take over on January 1st 2008.

Back the xmas party, Deb, do you have a paypal addy folks could use to send you our $5 toward the party?

Hey, Stuart- we are sad that you are stepping down, but since I have been around longer than most of the people in this group, I can stand up and say loudly that we would not be the group we are today if you had not stepped up and taken charge and made things happen like you did. You have been a major asset, especially in the beginning when there was much to be done and you just made it all happen in a very diplomatic way. I thank you for all the hard work and time that you put into our group. I know there were many hours put in to get things going that people did not even know about. Thanks for all that you've done for us!

can I get an official head count for who is coming? Kari- could you let me know of the visitors walking in the parade, how many are coming to the house after?Last year none of them did, but I don't want to assume that is what is happening this year. Need to plan as far as food, if I need to rent chairs/tables etc. thanks.

One question:
Can the gift be something used, as long as it's in good condition?

 

To me, the gift exchange is supposed to be fun, not something you've put heartfelt effort into like you would for somebody really close. Use your best judgement, Cara. If it's in good condition and something you think is cool, then it's all good! The item I'm bringing is actually a re-gift because I already have one, but it's so cool that I know it will be okay.
