*Striker walks in, clad in a tasteful suit with DarthIshtar right beside him. He escorts her to a table in front and places an order for water and julaberry juice*

Good luck to all and a great big thank you to all who worked to put this on.

 

The lights dim and the murmuring of spectators drops to a halt as the red curtains slowly open. The excitement in the air is palpable, and the anticipation could very easily drive some people mad. Nevertheless, the moment of truth was drawing near, as the curtains slowed to a stop.

As everyone looked up at the stage they seemed confused because there was nobody and nothing onstage. In fact there wasn?t even a lineup of golden Yoda statuettes . Some started wondering if in fact they?d come to the wrong place, but then couldn?t be. After a long time that seemed to drag out with every passing second, finally someone walked onstage.

This person was Lily, the hostess of the Awards and she looked quite stressed and somewhat annoyed. Still she wore a big smile as she stood before the crowd. ?Welcome everyone to the 2008 Beyond the Saga Fanfiction Awards!?

When the ensuing applause died down, Lily continued. ?Now as most of you know me and my volunteers have been trapped in a rat hole for the last month and have been duking it out with fatigue and insomnia. What you don?t know is that the Beyond volunteers had some help this year. That?s right, we cheated a little bit,? Lily admitted glancing towards the mods? table where bansticks were coming out of hiding.

?Don?t worry mods, I?m sure you will all approve,? Lily reassured them, and then smiled mischievously. ?Would you like to meet them??

The crowd roared the affirmative.

?Ok, here they are! First we have a Jedi who looks very good in black, let?s give a hand for Luke Skywalker!?

Luke was being led by RX_Sith wearing shackles on his hands and feet, the normally stoic Jedi Master looked quite annoyed.

?Don?t you just love Force proof chains??

?I have a bad--,? Luke started.

?Don?t, you?ll jinx the ceremony!? Lily exclaimed worriedly. ?And now we have Luke?s brother-in-law and everyone?s favorite space pirate?Han Solo!?

Han was also on chains and was being pulled by Killik_Twilight.
?And then we have Jag Fel, Zekk, and Cade Skywalker!?

The last three men were also chained, and were being ushered by ardavenport, KELIA, and Juliet316.

?These are by no means all the characters who?ve helped us,? Lily started. ?But we?ve?er?coerced these guys into giving us a little performance. So let?s give it up for the Fab Five!?

The five men were released from their chains and they stood together in the line as the opening strains of a disco song started to play. Just a few seconds into it all five men threw the cloaks they were wearing down revealing the sparkling, colorful, and remarkably tight costumes they wore beneath.

Midnight creeps so slowly into hearts,
Of men who need more than they get
Daylight deals a bad hand,
To a woman that has laid to many bets

And dance they did. In a perfectly choreographed piece reminiscent of the Village People, hips swayed and thrust, rears were shook and all five men lost a great deal of self respect in the process.

The mirror stares you in the face and says
Baby, uh uh it dont work
You say your prayers through you dont care
You dance and shake the hurt
Dance boogie wonderland
Dance boogie wonderland

All five men were doing their best to ignore the cat calls of the females in the audience, but finally their embarrassment was put at an end as the music stopped.

?Let?s give them a hand!? Lily exclaimed, as the men moved off stage as fast as possible. ?And let?s get this show on the road!?

A shackled Han Solo (wearing his normal attire), was pushed forward by KELIA towards the podium.


?I?m not announcing any kriffing awards, publically humiliating myself was bad enough!? Han protested.

?You?ll do what we say,? KELIA replied. ?Because if you don?t we?ll tell Leia---? she whispered something in his ear that made Han so white he nodded right away. ?Fine, where?s the blasted envelope.?
