I was working during the game, so didn't see any of it, but went to Logan's to get some carry out for dinner, and by the news cast on WNDU right after the game had no clue whether or not they won. I don't know.. after last season, I think ya'll should be a little more grateful for your wins.

    just sayin =)

Congrats to you Irish fans on the win yesterday. =D=

I didn't see either the ND or Michigan games, but it sounds like both teams stumbled a bit. I think ND will win next week; seems like Michigan is still a long way from being comfortable under their new system. Add in the fact that this will be Michigan's first road game this year, and I think the Irish should end up on top.

    Last nights game was awesome.

ND still has a little work ahead of them.

What is up with James Alridge?

I predict wins for all of the SBFF schools this week - ND, IU, and MSU!

Oh, see.. we're gonna have a problem, because it is impossible for all teams to win this week. Because, unlike many Notre Dame fans, I have ACTUAL connections to UofM.

    So, um, yeah.

    GO BLUE!!!!

And so college football fever finally hits SBFF! [face_laugh]

You ND and UM partisans can fight this one out, and the victor(s) can gloat after the dust settles. I just hope both teams can work out the bugs so their upcoming losses to the Spartans are not complete embarrassments! [face_dancing]

Javon Ringer looks like a stud. I'm interested in how he performs in the Big 10 season.

    Congrats to ND - =D=

First half was a nice game to watch, I have to assume the defenses of both teams also enjoyed watching, wherever they were (sure weren't in South Bend). Second half looked like the whole game did in E. Lansing - the way football should be, in the rain and mud!

UM's got a long year ahead. It'll be interesting to see how patient the fans/alumni are with Rodriguez.

I thought Threet did pretty good for a frosh, definitely better than the other guy they put in.

    GO ND!

I hope Weis gets better. Here's a video of the hit:

That was brutal to watch (although not as bad as this). It's really surprising that kind of thing doesn't happen more often, not just to head coaches, but to anyone on the sidelines.

an apt description for ND's running game and special teams play

    :p

Alright, that's my one dig. Your boys played hard, and fortunately they have a soft schedule for once. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go bowling this year (just not in January). Next year should be a real step up and a true test of whether they belong back in the Big Time.

MSU defense showed up...Congrats to MSU...

that was really hard to say...I think I am choking right now.

Now, we are going to lose another Tight End due to stupidity. We shall see how a true freshman TE will handle the pressure.

We can almost say that all SBFF'ers are happy this week (sorry, MT):

    Michigan State 42
    Indiana 29

    No. 9 Wisconsin 25
    Michigan 27

    Purdue 21
    Notre Dame 38

Looks like this season is going to be another roller coaster in the polls - four of the top ten teams lost this week. That makes for interesting debate among fans, but I am pro-playoff. Take eight teams (the champs of the six big football conferences, plus two at-large teams) and have a three-week playoff. Seed the teams using the BCS rankings, let the higher seeds play at home the first round (imagine a Big Ten team hosting an SEC team in December!), and rotate the semi-finals and championship game among the big bowls, as they do now with the BCS championship.
