Sth Bend, IN 2008 college football thread

Pitt is a bit hard to predict. They had a solid season until they fell apart last week against Rutgers. Was it a fluke? Is Wannstedt just a bad coach? Perhaps a Bears fan can chime in here.

I'm going to hedge my bet here and predict a close game...

21-17 Notre Dame

 

Dave is a great defensive coordinator. I don't know if he is still head coach quality. He is never constant winning seasons.

I haven't scouted the Pitts Secondary, but if they don't cover2 the receivers its going to be a long day for Pitt. Now, they do have a tough running, they have the leading scorer in the nation. If we can contain their ground game, I think we have a better chance of winning.

Its going to be a close game.

 

I think a lot depends on whether the Pitt QB Bill Stull plays or not. He suffered a concussion in the Rutgers game and his return to the field this week is questionable.

 

Pitts defense only allows 187 passing yards...Tough defense...

 

Notre Dame is doing well so far... 17-3 at halftime.

 

Some great last-minute finishes in the Big Ten today, including Michigan State beating Wisconsin on a field goal!

 

The second half of the game sucked!!! My last game of the year went down in style.

 

All I know is that

IU has lost to someone in Michigan____how many football teams do they have up there!

 

Unfortunately IU lost to two teams from Michigan this season, Michigan State and Central Michigan.


Heartbreaker for the Irish this weekend - four games left, how many wins do you guys see in that stretch?

 

There was weeping and gnashing of teeth as the Irish offense failed to produce one touchdown in 4 OT tries against Pitt.

 

BC should be a good game to watch this weekend.

Hey, Brady Quinn is starting this Thursday Night..

 

That was mentioned several times on Mike & Mike this morning, of course!

 

I've picked Brady Quinn up in my Fantasy Football league. I'm sure he's going to be ABSOLUTELY STUNNING in his first full game in the NFL, so I'm replacing Kurt Warner with him.


Truth is, I'm kinda bored with FF right now, and I'm losing badly in both leagues I'm playing, so I figure, what the heck.

 

i'm first or tied for first in both my leagues, so i don't find it quite as boring.

Notre Dame coach Weis looks to get involved in more play calling


No doubt Weis' offenses were a big part of New England's success while he was there. But I think this is a bad sign because of his decision to give up said duties at the start of the season. I'd worry that this kind of back-and-forth is a harbinger of bad things.

Go Irish beat Navy!!!

 

Iowa ruined the big showdown against Penn State in a couple weeks, but the Spartans still have an outside shot at the Big Ten title if they win that game and Ohio State loses one of its next two. Michigan is really down this year, but if they can get up for any game, it will be against OSU.

 

is that really an accomplishment? i mean, BALL freakin' STATE is in the top 15!
