Are we (or anyone) planning on anything for New Years?

 

I'm assuming you mean New Years Day, since that would belong in the 2008 thread. If you mean New Years Eve, that would belong in the 2007 thread.

Sounds like fun. I think it should be on a different night other than Tuesday (so it doesn't take place of our normal meetings) and invite the whole family.

 

When I mentioned it at the holiday party I was thinking of doing it as a family event, not our monthly meeting. After Christmas is over we can start working on a date to do this.

 

Last years bowling was fun. I am up for doing that again.

 

I'm there! Hopefully Kathleen, too!

 

So what's the plan for our January meeting?

 

I think it's time for a meeting down town... Just not Penny lane...good food, just wierd atmosphere, and the fact they didn't want to split the checks...

 

Yeah, PL was ok, but it was so loud I could barely hear people. Remember, I'm old, hearing is the first to go lol.

 

It is time for a meeting downtown, but I do not know many places so if someone can name a place (besides Penny Lane) then please speak up

 

Legend, Capital Ale House might work, one of the coffee shops that serve sandwiches might be good. There's a Deli by the Canal that would be perfect. Everything else I know is small expensive romantic places

 

A Deli could fit about 15 people? What's the name of this place?

The Bottom's Up downtown has reopened...i think...

if it is on the 15th I think that I can get away for the first meeting of the year, just to rib you all...

 

Okay I tried to narrow it down to three:
River City Diner
The Deli by the canal
Kuba Kuba

My vote is for River City, but it will be majority rules.

Joel, the only reason Banditos isn't in the three is b/c I thought we should go some place new for our first meeting of 2008.

 

No prob...I think I might be able to do it for the first meeting....they can deal(no pun intended) without me for one night.
Just let me know the details.
And River City Diner sounds fine except for parking

Should be interesting! I haven't tried any of those listed places yet, so it sounds fun to me. I too am a little worried about parking, but being on a Tuesday night...it can't be but so bad, right?

 

Parking is only hard if you don't know how to park. 7PM on a Tuesday night downtown is pretty quiet. If we do RCD, then there is also a parking lot at the end of the block from them at the place that used to be the Flood Zone. (That's what it was when I was going there)

Now trying to get in there at lunchtime during the week, that's a whole other story.

 

River City Diner sounds good to me...anyone else have any ideas?
