    Hi gang,

The annual park meet now has a date, which is Saturday 2nd August.
The park in question will be Green Park, with proceedings usually starting at midday.

Many thanks to Paul for organising this, and if we have some decent weather it should be as good as always.

That being said, I have no idea as yet if I can make it, but I'm sure there will be a great turn-out.

Any questions, fire away and I'll pass them on to Paul.

    Cheers!

I will be going away on holiday on that date, so I won't be able to make it.

Someone's already got that day booked as a holiday, so I can't book it off.... I just have to hope I'm not scheduled to work on that Saturday. I have the same problem with LFCC.

    Hiya

Thanks to Matt for posting this up, and hope that loads of people can make it. I will put up further details nearer the time as to when and where we will be meeting up.

Hope everyone is okay and hope to see quite a few of you in August. Looking forward to it!

Im going to check my shift rosta to see if I can make it. It would be nice to see you all again :) Even if I can make it though, Koren won't be able to as she's away at some hippy festival or something.

And alas I can't make it due to work (again). I may be able to say hello for an hour or two right at the start, but it's doubtful.

Nuts, I really wanted to try and make this :(

    Hello All,

Good to see that the park meet is still going ahead. I'm sure it'll be another super event.

Paul - are you not sending out a mass email about this to the groovy gang? I'm thinking that a lot of folks may not see this thread.

    Cheers,
    Ram

    hi ram,
i think one went out a few weeks ago,but no doubt paul will be updating everyone soon.
what's the scene like over there for 'the dark knight'?
    it's bat-crazy,i reckon.
    hope you're both well,
    jamie.

I think it's starting to get bat-crazy here too. Even Radio fivelive had a discussion about it last night. And now the doubledecker buses and billboard adverts are doing the rounds, come what next week we'll be having bats for dinner, yum-yum.

How is the Richards household gearing up for it, Jamie??

We're both well thanks Jamie. Hope the same of you and Theresa. Actually the bat scene here seems a little subdued. There is some coverage on the tele, radio and newspapers, but not as much as what Indy, Iron Man and Wall-E had received. Perhaps there's just too many big films coming out one after the other. But, I'm sure there'll be a huge buzz this weekend. Can't wait!

When is everyone planning to see this? Is there a meetup this weekend?

I will be seeing it on Wednesday.

Hopefully I will get to see WALL-E this weekend, all reviews so far claim it to be varying degrees of awesomeness.

my buddy joel just went to a press creening of TDK and he's raving about it,saying it's an accomplished and polished film, much more so than even the prestige and memento!
all performances are good, with not one bad piece of casting.
and ledger should be nominated for an oscar, apparantly.
    or so he says...
and he's usually on the nose with these things.

Ah ok, I didn't realise its opening a week later back in Blighty.
Had to visit the in-laws this weekend and hence didn't get to see it. Although I did persuade Anne to watch Batman Begins on dvd last night, and she's now well and truly in the mood for TDK. We'll be seeing it tonight for sure...

Richie, hope you already got your tickets for Wednesday - from what i've read most cinemas are now sold out.

    Hi

With a week to go, thought I should send out a note with the final details on it.

When in London last Sunday, I found that around "our tree" the grass has been allowed to grow, to the extent where I think we should move elsewhere. Looking around I have found a good area located ahead of the third turning on the left when walking along the northern path of the park from the slop by the tube station. (Or by the Ritz, if you are really posh).

For anyone in London early, or passing through Waterloo, I will be under the clock on the main concourse at 1130, with an aim to heading towards the park at 1145.

As far as I am aware from the long range weather forecast, the weather is will hopefully be okay (!), but should it not, we will do something else and head to the pub earlier.

With regards to the pub, there is a Wetherspoons just south of Trafalgar Square on Whitehall that I would recommend heading towards. Thanks to Shabs to recommending it.

    Currently I am expecting to see;

    Mark
    Tim & Sharon
Jamie & Theresa (with celeb guests)
    Jason
    Jane
    Kerry-Anne (with celeb guests)
    Craig & Karen
    Bob
    Park Meet Boy
    Shabs
    Joe

.....and anyone else that may want to join us, the more the merrier.

I have seen people talking about seeing The Dark Knight in the evening. Personally, I am not overly keen on going to the cinema as it will involve effort and organisation, neither of which I will be too keen on having spent a day doing very little. I am also highly confused by the plot; the Joker is supposed to be the insane one, but a man that dresses as a rat with wings is supposed to be normal?!?!

    ;-)

So all being well, everything is now vaguely in place for next weekend. Looking forward to it.

    Paul
