Okay, maybe this is a bit premature, but 2010 will be soon upon us, and thus another year of cons, including the elusive CV! So, what projects will you be working on for the new year? Or, do you have a specific 'wish list' of costumes you're shooting for?

    So far my list:

    - Imperial Royal Guard - Finally finish.

    - Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna - Redo shirt & armbands.

    - Avatar Yangchen (Avatar the Last Airbender) by Comic Con?

    My list:

    - secret project (I have started to buy material for it). It's my main thing for CV
    - Tusken female. I have the mask kit, but I will go slowly with this one. It might be finished for CV, or not I'm not going to rush it.
    - daydress from around 1680. That's going to be my historical project for next year, but will depend on funding since I'm going to give the other projects top priority.

This year I'm concentrating on Mandalorian armor. I might make a jedi, if I have time and resources, because that is always good to have around. I've spent so much time making them for other people and my children, I've just never gotten around to having on in my closet. So that is my basic list. I just hope the Mandalorian comes out well.

I wish to finish at least one of my big historic projects and a couple of smaller ones as well as some recreations too :)

    Big Historic:
Spanish c1600- already cut and flatlined the major pieces and have all the trim now.
1890 Worth Gown full of pearls.

    Smaller Historic
1520s Swiss gown in lilac wool and burgundy guards
    1860s green Velveteen dress
1830s day dress in checked cotton
1906 day dress in striped cotton

    Female Templar from Hellgate
Mystique, own style based on old style ;)
Reinette from Dr Who Girl in the Fireplace

The only nearly fully new project is the templar. The historic are all nearly finished I just want to get them off the to do list ;)

    On my! So fast! :p

Then again, my Saint Seiya Cosplay List had been set already, all the way to 2014! [face_hypnotized]

    1) SAINT SEIYA : THE LOST CANVAS Athena Sasha [link=]Hypnos-Thanatos Saga Outfit[/link] (aka 4th Outfit)
    2) SAINT SEIYA : HADES CHAPTER (Classic Series Manga) Pandora [link=]Hades Outfit[/link] Ver. 2.0
    3) SAINT SEIYA : POSEIDON CHAPTER (Classic Series Manga) Kanon in [link=]Sanctuary Outfit[/link] cum SAINT SEIYA : THE LOST CANVAS Prequel Gemini Defteros
    4) SAINT SEIYA : THE LOST CANVAS Hades Alone (Either [link=]1[/link] or [link=]both[/link] of his outfits)
    5) SAINT SEIYA : POSEIDON CHAPTER (Classic Series Manga) [link=]Sea Dragon[/link] Kanon cum SAINT SEIYA : THE LOST CANVAS Sea Dragon Unity

    6) Imperial Officer (Navy/Grey) => Just to complete it once and forall!
    7) Imperial Officer (Army/Black)
    8) ROTJ Imperial Crewman Ver 2.0 (Black)
    9) Prequal Jedi Knight
    10) Hoth Scout Trooper (IF I can afford the other armor parts from the Snowtrooper)
    11) ROTJ Biker Scout Ver. 2.0 (New Armor and thus turn my KS Scout Armor into part of the Hoth Scout Armor)

    12) LORD OF THE RINGS : THE THIRD AGE (Game) Idrial
    13) TTT Haldir Elven Archer Armor (More on continue work on it.....6 years later after I abandoned it!)

Costume 1) will be started on as soon as I reach my 2nd Targeted Weight (70kg) which is only 2kg away on a good day (so I MIGHT complete it before the year end anyhow) while Costume 3) will be worn when I reach my 3rd Targeted Weight (65kg) which I hope by July 2010 should all goes well. For Costume 5) when I reach my 4th Targeted Weight (60kg), hopefully by end of 2010 but then again, I MIGHT wait to reach my 5th Targeted Weight (55kg) before wearing it at as public Cosplay event to look GOOD in it, and not deemed as bad of something by Singapore's Cosplay standards.

As for Costume 12), MIGHT do it for Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention 2010, assuming it falls in August again or later. The Maroon Velvet I deemed for it had been collecting cobwebs for too long already now while in storage.

    As for Side-Projects....

    14) SAINT SEIYA : THE POSEIDON CHAPTER (Anime) [link=]Poseidon Julian Solo[/link]
    15) SAINT SEIYA : THE LOST CANVAS [link=]Pope Sage[/link] <= IF I can afford the Helmet
    16) ANGEL SANCTUARY (Manga) Sevotharte Ver 2.0 <= IF I do Sage, then I'll have the wig to redo him for Ver 2.0

(Can't say that, even though it's an actual term).

    The short list:

    Zayne Carrick
    X-Wing Pilot
Codex from The Guild (specifically, from the Do You Wanna Date My Avatar music video)

The long list... keeps changing. And is highly dependent on how much of my life my job decides to eat. So I'll just stick to the short list for now. :p

Need to add in Queen of Hearts Disney version - redo my bodice & collar, make the skirt non-rip-offable. Maybe redo the underskirt to get it to lay better.

Okay, now that I have a minute to answer my own question (lol)...I've already started a Sally Jupiter, which includes dying the georgette that I found (I also found some killer boots). Silk Spectre II is much more my style, but I have no experience in working with latex. I'll have to work on that soon, 'cause I really LOVE that suit and would not even need to style my hair differently from my normal 'do:)
I'd also like to make a Moulin Rouge Green Fairy for D*C...hopefully I can work on that over next summer break.
My Amidala "travel gown" concept is currently in limbo...when they announce CV I'll have a better idea of where it should go on my priority list.
I'm sure there will be more ideas pop up here and there...we'll see! It sounds like we all have a very busy year ahead of us!

At the moment all I really want to do are Legacy-era costumes. Have one project TOO many lined up but as I'm trying to grow my hair out for the Marasiah Fel ones, I figure that the best thing to do is work on them when I have inspiration/time/money and find the materials when they're on sale. The fact that I'm looking into modifying patterns and learning to make fiberglass armor kinda intimidates me, ha ha!

    * Celeste Morne's default outfit
    * Celeste Morne Young flashback version (it's cute, come one!)
    * Azlyn Rae's bounty hunter disguise armor
    * Marasiah Fel's Imperial Knight Armor
    * Marasiah Fel's Legacy 3 cover outfit
    * Marasiah Fel's Imperial Missionary robes
    * Marasiah Fel's "Broken" outfit (blue top and brown skirt one)
    * Marasiah Fel's Legacy 0 outfit (it's a black and white sketch and I came up with a cool color scheme for it so I'm going for it)

And if I have inspiration and can be bothered, finish up the Jaina Solo I messed up on. I'm just tired of it by now though.

I love this time of year, time to remember what I did and think about what needs to be done :D

Lets see in 2009 I worked on and finished...
    [image=] [image=] [image=]
Caprica Six and Baltar[/link] I made his entire suit from a heavily modified pattern and made all the accessories for my dress as well :)

[link=]Classic Star Trek Scant[/link] - It was something cute to throw together for Dragon Con for Will mainly. It went over pretty well :)

[link=]Julie Newmar Catwoman[/link] - OMG, my favorite costume ever! This was so much fun to wear, and meeting Julie Newmar while wearing it was the icing on the catnip cake!

Updated my [link=]Black Corset Dress[/link] once again lol (New Necklace)

    [link=]Hula Hoop Dance Slave Leia[/link]

Kind of quiet for me really... I know it may not look it, but I feel like I didn't do much lol.

    For 2009...
Already Started my [link=]Kaylee Shindig Dress[/link] which has to be done by February 1st
    1966 Penguin for Will
Padme Deleted Scene Family Gown AOTC *maybe*
    Simon Costume for Will
*maybe... BIG maybe* Duty Blues for Will... depends on how much I feel like torturing myself on a suit again

My 2010 list is so up in the air. The #1 thing I want to focus on over the winter is to finally make a little headway on my Bespin Leia, for C5 (if we're able to go... depends on when it is!)
A couple of other things I'd like to do is to tweak my new Wonder Woman costume for MidSouthCon next year, make Belle's Christmas dress, Ms. Marvel, Magik from New Mutants, and either a Ravenclaw uniform or Beauxbatons.

    I didn't stick very well w/my 2009 wish list. Here's what I did finish.

    1. [link=]Sally Jupiter[/link] (Watchmen) - made for megacon 2009.
    2. [link=]Huntress[/link] (Birds of Prey) - for superman celebration 2009.
    3. [link=]Jean Grey[/link] (X-Men) - dragoncon.
    4. [link=]Rogue[/link] (X-Men Age of Apocalypse) - dragoncon
    5. [link=]Wonder Woman[/link] - dragoncon. didn't quite get it finished (the gold pieces), want to finish it for next year.
    6. [link=]Ame-Comi Poison Ivy[/link] (batman) - dragoncon
    7. [link=]Black Canary[/link] (Dc comics) - dragoncon. didnt think I'd get this one done!
    8. [link=]Anne Boleyn[/link] (The Other Boleyn Girl) - dragoncon. first time making anything like that! it's so fun to wear.
    9. [link=]Snow White[/link] - my halloween costume this year, so happy with it!

that's it for me this year. We just moved so my sewing room is a disaster... who knows when I'll be able to get in there to sew again! LOL

Adding Leia's senatorial gown to the list, as I need to make that costume while I still have my current job. See, part of my job involves restoring data, and this often involves inserting data tapes into a robot that manages all our backups. So I need to make the costume, and then get a picture of me inserting a tape into the robot. It just has to happen. :p

WOW, how the year has gone. Where did 2009 go? I guess I did OK on my 2009 list. Here are some things I made or completed in 2009 for me:
    1. AOTC Naboo Nightgown and Robe

    2. TPM Battle Dress

    3. Smallville Lois Lane Season 8(from Stiletto episode)(Please excuse powder mishap :p)

    For my hubby:
    7. AOTC Anakin

I did finish my son's Jango Fett for Halloween but I need to upload the pics where would be 10.

And then I did 3 Naboo Security Officers for an Xmas Parade(only 2 pictured here)
    which would be costumes 11-13[image=]

I was close to finishing the Flame Handmaiden and I will finish that before 2009 is done. I did purchase a Black Invasion Gown but the blouse and overcoat got lost in transit and I am still trying to finish the overcoat and get the right fabric. I also redid my AOTC White Battle cape and redyed my boots. I still need to finish the CW Padme purple hat and cape.

Other costumes I need to finish(in no particular order):
Amidala TPM Red Invasion Gown(I need to line one sleeve with fur & attach it on the dress, pipe the dress, finish the collar & the headpiece)
Amidala TPM Parade Gown(I just need to finish the dumb parasol on this one)
Leia Boushh(have done all the hard parts, now just need to start the soft parts)
Padme ROTS Water End Gown(have some nice cloak fabric and some silk metallic tissue for the dress and great sequins but this one is another one I need to start)
Padme ROTS Green Cut Velvet(Going to dye my own silk velvet from Thai Silks, gotta get the custom sleeve lining and need purple silk for sash and lining)
X-wing Pilot(Got the flightsuit, cool working comm pad, boots, flare holder and flak vest. Also have a half put-together helmet kit, still need harness and other parts)

So for 2010 in no particular order:
    1. Padme AOTC Pilot
    2. Padme AOTC Packing Gown(got a chainstitch machine for the embroidery)
    3. Padme AOTC Picnic Gown
    4. Count Dooku tunic and cape for hubby
    5. Anakin ROTS for hubby
    6. Secret superhero costume for hubby
    7. Smallville Oliver Queen white suit
    8. Padme ROTS Mustafar redo(with real suede)
    9. Padme ROTS Aqua Georgette redo(redo embroidery)

Well, 2009 was very busy in other ways, and it became a year of sewing for others, including a full 18th century French military coat and waistcoat for a member of Lauzun's legion in my area, a wedding gown, and little bits here and there. But in the end, none of the plans I had for myself or my husband panned out.

So, as I'm already up to my neck in a commission today and this break must be very brief, let's just take last year's list and re-attribute it to 2010.

Perhaps this year will be less hectic and more visibly productive. [face_plain]
