2010 NHL Playoffs: Parity is not a *****!

Phoenix is up 4-1 at the end of two. Looks like we could get a Game 7.

 

We will get a game 7. And the Canucks are through.

 

It's just strange to think that Detroit has a legitimate chance of loosing in the first round of the playoffs this year.

 

I hope they do.

 

Phoenix is a tough team.

 

Maybe all of the drama surrounding the team off the ice made them focus more, and they were able to play up to their potential.

Edit: Looks like the Devil's coach, Jacques Lemaire, has retired and will some sort of role with the team next year.

 

Yay Sharks! Funny, I was out of the state when you posted that.

 

The West finishes up the first round tonight. For the 2nd round Vancouver will be playing Chicago with San Jose taking on the winner of Phoenix/Detroit. A lot of Sharks fans I know want to play Phoenix but personally I'd rather slay the demon that is Detroit. Either way, I'll be watching this game tonight intently.

As for the East, the round 2 matchups hinge on the outcome of tomorrows Caps/Habs Game 7.

If WASHINGTON wins:
Philadelphia vs. Washington
Boston vs. Pittsburgh

If MONTREAL wins:
Montreal vs. Pittsburgh
Boston vs. Philadelphia

 

I suppose I'll be cheering for Montreal tonight. If the Caps would loose, the Pens would be the highest seed left in the East and have home-ice advantage in the through the Conference finals.

 

So much for the Red Wings losing in the first round for the 1st time in a million years. They smoked the yotes. Phoenix has a lot to be proud of though. I hope all those fans keep coming out next season and beyond. Go Caps, hope they finish the Habs.

 

Took some time, though. Interesting to see them and the Sharks now.

 

Ovechin better deliver tonight...

 

I imagine that he will. Although, I won't complain if the Caps loose.

When he covered that poor kid wearing a Habs jersey with snow, Oveshkin woke up the Ghosts of Bell Center, and they did their job. Silly him...

We knocked off the most powerful team in the league, some of the greatest players on the planet, no-one gave us a chance. and as a reward, we get to face the champs. How nice!!!

 

Can we say Washington chokes worse than the Sharks now? Please?

 

The NHL must be devastated by this one. Washington v. Pittsburgh would have been a huge draw.

Whereas Crosby's teams always seem to win or place.

 

The NHL probably isn't thrilled about that. Last year, the series create a lot of buzz.
