Awards 2010 Saga Fanfic Awards Thread - Ceremony Sunday at 12 pm board time!

Welcome everyone to the The Saga Fan Fiction Awards thread. Just a few important things to address before the fun begins.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

What this thread is for:
-to list nommed fics
-to list qualified fics
-a place for you to ask questions about the rules and awards process
-a reference thread to help you throughout the awards process
-pointing out mistakes in our nomming lists


What this thread is NOT for:
-celebrating your noms (while we are happy for you, this is not the place to throw a party--take it to PMs or IM)
-a place to discuss your personal noms since that is private information. If you have a question on whether or not a specific nom was counted, please discuss it with us via PM.

1) Register! If you have not registered, your noms and/or votes will not be counted. If you have not registered, just PM [b]Voter_Registration[/b] and say that you?re registering for the awards, and you?ll be good to go!

2) Go through and get ideas of whom you want to nominate.

Just a head's up, I think you left out the character whom the Best Canon Interpretation (Female) nom was for in "Fortune's Gate."

While I appreciate the nom for Best Epic, "The Darkest of Shadows" is a vignette and only 2,500 words, so it can't qualify for the Epic category.

Sorry, I'm having another n00b momenet here...with the excerpt submissions, if we need something italicised do we put the mark-up codes in as {i}word{/i} or as {i]word[/i]?

ETA: Also forgot...(another n00b moment) - if we've been nominated for best author (OMG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO NOMMED ME) do we send in excerpts for that? And if so, can we choose from any story even if it hasn't been nominated?

 

I can answer both:

1. all [] should be {] because someone knows how to run a change all { to [. Example: {i]word{/i]

2. Best author: any SAGA story since you were nominated in Saga (and congrats!) It doesn't have to be from this year or have ever been nommed for anything. The point is to show off your considerable skills as an author.

Yup - a drabble is a "story," too. If you can post it here (and did), it's good to go.

 

Excuse the newbie question, but when (and where?) will the excerpts be posted? Will they be given a thread of their own? If so...where would I find it? According to the schedule, voting is open, but I haven't seen a thread with excerpts...where should I look?

I think I can answer this one. Excerpt submission for this era ended on August 2nd. Voting is actually scheduled to conclude this Sunday at midnight board time. So yeah, it's too late to send in an Excerpt.

 

Note that it matters...since excerpts aren't posted (and I do not mean to come across as offensive if that's how this is read - just finding inappropriate humor in the situation that voting is half over before excerpts are even up).
