    I will also need a blaster, if anyone knows where to get a good one, I've never made anything like that or modified one, but I would want the DL 44, not that squareish one she keeps in the small of her back. I appreciate all help anyone can give me. [face_praying]

    I would absolutely love the thread unlocked, already before any work has been done i have come up with things I need to ask. I have already read the entire thread, so I know what to ask. :D Thanks in advance, I am forever in your debt, consider it a life debt, those are serious.

    I am, I do still need some help if anyone can point me in the direction of any of the things I mentioned before. I also need a thread unlocked if some one wouldn't mind.

    Hey there! :)

    Just wanted to say that people are still on, but not everyone can post every single day (especially for a thread like this one where you post your completed projects and wish lists). I don't know about the rest of you, but progress for me comes and goes when it comes to sewing. :p Also, the Mara Jade thread has been unlocked for you, hopefuljedi, so feel free to post in it. Good luck with your projects. :)

    I finished my Imperial Crew costume. And just recently, I sold my Snowclone to fund a "normal" toon style clone.

    So I am turning this:

    [image=https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/285349_2262932101343_1489687833_32626697_6245688_n.jpg]

    Into this:

    [image=http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Nsy9Ry9bVy4/TJe5d68kSFI/AAAAAAAAnMU/jzvOjGHUNmI/s800/Echo%20n%20Fives%205.jpg]

    I'll paint it as Season 3 (pre-ARC) Echo.

    After this, I still want to do a stormtrooper or sandtrooper.

    Obey Wann that sounds like a big under taking, good luck. Thanks for unlocking the mara thread. I'm making use of it already to pick the brains of the unexpecting. :D

    This year I got into costuming, started and completed a Scout Trooper in less than 2 months back in April. Now I'm assembling the parts to make a Stormtrooper costume, with a few non-canon additions like a gray pauldron, some weathering (not going the Sandtrooper road), a SE-14r blaster and a kama. I'm learning to use a sowing machine because of that last piece of combat-cloth... should be interesting.

    This is costing me a fortune already, good thing I've no intentions to have kids in the near future - I'd rather entertain other people's kids.

    I felt like I was on drugs trying to make a Boba Fett costume this spring.....you guys must have a lot better imagination and skills than me because I had a heck of a time. My wife gave me a $800 budget since we have a baby coming this fall but I thought that would be good. I just don't think I have the patience and expertise to make something even though I found your posts all very inspiring in this thread and others (which lead me to want to create my own). At this point, I am going to give up and just purchase (Rubies I believe) from either http://www.starwarshalloweencostumes.com, http://www.ultimatestarwarscostumes.com or http://www.buyscostumes.com. I know that people will probably want to flame me for purchasing but I just can't seem to get even the under suit right and I had help from my mother in law who is a seamstress! ugh.....

    Yeah, unfortunately Fett (both Fetts, even) are costumes that cost in the thousands of dollars to do right. :(

    Since the beginning of the year, I've actually added on a few more projects to my list, one of them, I have the wig and circle lenses (if only they'd not irritate my eyes so much...), just need to make the costume.

    [image=http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/MilBrcrsan/100_4422.jpg]

    And of course, trying to finish my sixth version of the Pastel Gown. I'm pretty much ready to start another version because I'm still not happy with this one. [face_frustrated] Oh, and sorry for the blurry pic! :p

    Thanks! I have done a couple of other clones, so this wasn't too bad:

    Ouch. Most Fett's cost $2,000-3,000 to do right. Sometimes more. Most hard armor kits (TK, TB, etc.) will run about $1,000 completed. You can do soft goods based costumes (X-Wing Pilots, Tuskens, RFT, Hoth Trooper, Endor trooper, Imperial Crew, Imperial Navy, etc.) for less... sometimes as little as $300-500. Movie-style clones run about $1200 completed, toon ones can be less unless you want kamas, range finders and side blasters and such.

    It gets MUCH more expensive if you don't already have the tools.

    Fetts and Vaders are at or near the top of the expense list. Chewie and driods will cost more than a pretty penny as well.

    Always remember the rule of three:

    - you can have it accurate
    - you can have it quickly
    - you can have it (relatively) inexpensively
    Choose 2 of the three.

    If you want it quick and accurate, it WILL be expensive.
    If you want it cheap (i.e. less expensive), it will take a long time to do. Or it will take a long time to get the B-grade parts and make them look good.
    If you want it cheap and fast it will not be accurate.

    Unfortunately, that's the way it is.

    Threepio and some of Padme's gowns are also up in the $2000-$3000+ category, sadly.

    Oh I was on Spirit Halloween's website and they had a good looking Boba costume.
    Hope this Helps for finding a good costume. I know that I am going to buy a catsuit to make my Mara costume and alter it, because I won't have time to make it fully and my sister's Leia costume. New Hope not Jedi.

    I have made no where near the amount of progress I want on the Leia gown, I have been lazy and have been doing the high school thing. I think I may have found a catsuit for my Mara costume, I just don't have the time to make an accurate one, maybe just make a cape, belt and am working on a holdout blaster from a small water pistol I got at a family picnic for my mom's work. It has proved difficult getting the clay to dry without cracking off.
