Buff, NY 2013 Holiday Gift Exchange

Please read the entire first post before responding as it contains input needed from those who wish to participate that will allow the exchange to flow smoothly for all involved.

As with previous years, we will be holding a gift exchange at this year's gathering on December 15.

Here are the details of the gift exchange:

• Participation is voluntary. You do not need to participate in order to attend the holiday party.
• Gifts should be $20 in value. You may go over this value if you wish.
• You are responsible to getting the gift to the party, should you become unable to attend. No one wants to participate and not receive a gift.
• Responses in this thread will be collected and randomly matched with another participating member. All names will remain secret until the gift is opened.
• Gifts will be exchanged at the holiday gathering with one member acting as Santa and passing out gifts which are opened one at a time.

What is needed from you to participate?
Post in this thread by no later than Tuesday November 26 at 9pm that you wish to participate. In your post, please include a few gift suggestions for everyone to see. Please do not post that you will update at a later date as people will begin shopping as soon as names are chosen. After posting, please email Mindy (selma792000@yahoo.com) who will match the names and reply to your email with your member to shop for. A post on the forums and email to Mindy is needed to participate

No adjustments will be made after the deadline to respond passes.

 

We will not be participating in the exchange this year.

I will participate, as usual please make a donation to either the food bank, the SPCA, or any local charity of your choice.

 

I am unable to attend the Holiday party or take part in the exchange. It's Charlie's birthday.

 

I'll participate again. Gift Cards for Barnes and Noble, Guitar Center, Home Depot or Lowes would be great.

Are we doing any kind of donation this year for a food drive?

 

Yes! We will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items again this year to benefit the Food Pantry of the Church of the Good Shepherd. The food pantry is located in the north Buffalo neighborhood, and serves a huge number of households each week.

We are also accepting donations of gently used winter clothing. Men's clothing is particularly needed at this time.Donations can be brought to the Holiday party, or if you are not able to attend and want to donate, please contact me and I will pick up your items.

If you have any questions about the pantry, please contact me for details. The North Ridge has been exceedingly generous in the past couple of years, and your donations make a difference in the lives of SO many families!

 

I will be participating in the gift exchange. I like drop earrings (hypo-allergenic; cats or Star Wars related is cool), any cat related stuff, donation to the SPCA, gift card for Target or Penneys.

 

Bump! Perhaps can we extend the deadline for the gift exchange for another day?

 

I will pass this year since I don't know if I can make the Christmas Party or not.

Last call for gift exchange! Our power was out this evening so the list isn't done, with tomorrow being a holiday I will start to get things going and will send out shopping assignments by late Friday evening(i work Friday so it will be after that). That should give any stragglers a chance to join in the fun.
